1.
Honestly, I don't think I looked at the Capers at all except to see what time we were docking the next morning and when we had to be back on board!
Same here. I couldn't believe how busy we were on this itenerary!!
  2.
In my review, I state that most days, after we reboarded, we went to the cabin and had a shower and a nap, but we often ended up lying there watching a movie on tv. It seemed like the movie list for the big screen was often the movies that had been on in the cabin the day before, and since we were so tired every night, there was no incentive to even go up and check it out.

Even ignoring the fact that we were too tired for much of anything, the timing wasn't really good with late dinner. The 7 pm movie was when we were usually getting ready for dinner (yes, we "dress" for dinner every night, and it takes two females a while to get ready), the 9 pm movie starts before we finish dinner, and if I went to the the 11 pm movie, I'd probably fall asleep.

TV/movies just aren't important enough to me. I'm not going to miss a single hour on one of those wonderful islands just because I stayed up late to watch a movie and didn't want to get up early. I can watch tv/movies every other day of my life! :p
Ditto. Agree 100%.
  3.
Awsome! We were looking at a 14 day Celebrity cruise from San Juan over Christmas and New Year with only 3 sea days! It's on sale on several sites for $1999pp for a balcony. Plus I haven't sailed Celebrity yet. I want to sail on all the major cruiselines at some point. Carnival is still my favorite so far but I really liked Disney too.
I saw that one, but the dates don't work out for me at work. (We actually have a holiday shut down from 12/24 - 1/2 every year).

We are doing Victory again, but flying to SJ on 12/24 and coming back Monday, so it will be almost 12 days.

    Your itenerary looks really nice.

I did the two week Christmas/New Year's cruise a few years ago with almost the same stops.

    You'll have a great time. :)
  4.
I will be boarding two weeks from today. whoo hoo

Can anybody that has been onboard recently tell me what movies and concerts are playing on the outdoor screen?
We were so BUSY with this itenerary (exursions on all 7 stops) that we never even had time to watch any movies on the big screen.
  5.
:) Wow! This is such a wonderful site! Thank you everyone for sharing!
I have learned so much about the Carnival Victory and loved...just loved seeing the photo's.
We sail in about a month...we are so excited and just can't wait to go!
You'll have a great time!! :D
  6.
You book it honey ..you just BOOK. ;)

Had a look at some of your pics.
I see you made the boardwalk to the West of Rockley Beach, huh?
Glad you liked it. As I've said before, it's not popular with the locals fer nuthin! ;)

Your pics are nice but...they all show a big ole smudge at top right.
Looks like a fingerprint either on the lens (easy to clean)
or someone put a pawprint on the sensor (you may need professional help for that one)!

Have a look at the front glass of the camera's lens to see if anything's there.
If not, carry it to a camera place(along with some photos to show them the problem)
    and see what they say!

Booked!! Doing it again for Christmas/New Year's. :D

Looked at the lense, nothing there, although the spot does still show up on the digital screen. Camera did get wet because it was sitting too close to the sweaty ice bucket on the ship. :(

I noticed that but wasn't sure what to do about it. Thanks for the advice! :D

  8. Tell her to stop worrying.

Whatever she gets, I can just about guarantee it'll be the most comfortable bed she's ever slept in!

Carnival makes it quite difficult to get out of bed, in the morning..;)

    .

    I agree.

I actually had the experience of sleeping in a bunk for a week on the Costa Fortuna (sister ship to the Victory). I had gone on a cheap cruise with a girl friend and I ended up being the one in the top bunk.

It actually was very comfortable. A little annoying having to climb up to the top at night, but man, lets talk about floor space! (Catagory A1) :D

  9. Just back off the Victory! Chillin at the Intercontinental San Juan. Will post lots of pics when I get back to NC. It was incredible!!!! Loved your island nation Aplmac!

    Woo Hoo!!! Thanks!!!

Can you get them posted before I leave bright and early Friday morning??? :D

Glad you had a great time. ~ :)

  10. Geez I hope the dude's Dad makes it. Sounds serious.

This will distract you for awhile...

Taken at the bottom of the stairs that lead to the waterslide takeoff point

Notice the trail left by lots of little pitter-patter wet feet!

Thanks so much!! Do to following all of your amazing advice, I have no plans in Barbados other than catching a cab to Rockly Beach and soaking in some pure life enegry. :D

    You have inspired me!! Thanks.

Anything a potentially single girl or possably a couple should know? I read about other posters having trouble getting cabs to take them there. No problems with getting them to come back and pick you up again I hope?

  11. If you have the Carnival holidays catalogue like I do

you can spend some time poring over deck plans for 'your ship'

fantasizing about where your next cabin will be!

Already, I'm aiming for Cabin 1111 -just for the numerics, if not for the view!

    .

Ahhh, the simple things in life. :)

Do you have a web-site with a link to your cruise photos? I'd love to see more. You take such great pics!

Just got the sad news that I might be flying to OSJ by myself on Friday... My BF's DF just had a major heart attack and is in ICU. :(

  12. Look out now, you're gonna start an issue with posting a picture of the so called, but misnamed (in my opinion) "secret decks" accessed thru "secret doors".

Haha. That's what Deck Plans are for! ;)

Am I the only dork who actually studies them??? I found the secret decks all by myself! :p

  13.
I agree. I doubt I will do another Caribbean inteneray that is as good as this one was. I am sure we will do it again when we get some other destinations out of the way. If you are a port person then this cruise is pretty much as good as it gets.
I just took my BF on his first cruise over Christmas, and in two weeks we will be in San Juan.... Poor thing, he actually keeps telling about about how "this time he hopes it can be a slow, relaxing cruise with lots of At Sea Days, because the last one wore him out too much....." ;)

    I DON'T THINK SO!!! :D:eek::D
  14. I always wondered why they called it that:confused::D

    OMG My Eyes Hurt!!!

I remember walking into that room the first day we were on the ship exploring.... I think we must have ran out of there as fast as we ran in. My eyes didn't recover all week.

I'm sure some people love it, I'm just not one of them.

The rest of the ship is really beautiful though. :D

  15. Thanks! I appreciate the information.

There must be something going on with the cruisew lines because as soon as they found out I was coming in on a ship, they wouldn't hardly even talk to me. "Book through the cruise line!"

.....Well, what if I wasn't on a cruise?????

Actually, it looks like the price they had listed on the excursions dropped a little. Still over $100.00 though.

I'll contact Blue Water and see what they have to say. :D

  16. Their website...........

    http://www.bohioresort.com/

Thanks so much for the information. They won't let me book a dive directly through them, I have to go throught the cruise line.... at $140.00!

Can anyone tell me WHY I'm looking at $140.00 for a dive in T&C, but only $45.00 in St Maarten??? Is this a magic dive to Atlantis or something???:(

  17. Wow, such awsome pictures! Thanks.

If I wanted to set up a dive excursion throught them, does anyone have any information on how to get in touch with them in advance?

Our ship doesn't offer it as an excursion. Does anyone know how to contact them?

I appreciate any information. Thanks! :)
