Thats almost exactly what I said to my wife last night. The kids play sports, and are back to a (more normal) active life. However, oddly enough my oldest was grounded the other day, so he is pretty much locked in his room.
My wife is not usually an alarmist. But in this situation it has more to do with 4k people in a relatively confined space. And she is claustrophobic. Perhaps that plays a roll in this.Hopefully it is more like 2,900 people.....

My wife has been skeptical all along....I had my concerns, but the ship will be at reduced occupancy....
Practice common sense - wash your a lot, use hand sanitizer - bring you own portable bottle, don a mask where you feel appropriate inside.....we took cruise ship excursions in Aruba, Curacao, and Amber cove.....we may cancel amber cove and may not get off the ship in La Romana
Again we 90% excited and 10% concerned too....it was the Carnival Protocols and VAX requirement that made us make a move. ....we aid July 24th on a 8 day Horizon cruise....
Just the fact that we have been in lock down for a year and half - following self imposed mask wearing make sus stir crazy and a vacation will do us well - I expect that of your family as well.
The kids will stand a huge risk back in school compared to the cruise imo
We too are concerned with the uptick in the spread....
Best of luck with your decision.....if you don't go I bet you wont cruise until late 2022 at best....
If we like this cruise we are booking another for Sept/Oct if they still follow the protocols.
PS Bring a huge can of lysol to do your own room wipe down too....we have 3 cans packed!
Never thought I'd turn into a Howie Mandel - LMAO

This is a strange comment to make in my opinion.
Agree as this has nothing to do with cruising.....

Celebrity Edge started cruising as "RED" and has been Green for some time now.....so things do get better!

Is something up or shutdown?
I'm trying to sneak a last minute gift for my DW and there are no available options at the SPA?
Anyone on board now or anyone else know something we don't know?
Help - need to treat the DW of 43 years to something other than flower or chocolate covered strawberries.

Looks like another investigation has started as if today?
The last time (around the 7/16) the CDC Ship Status said than investigation was conducted and is under observation.
I'm glad they are testing and quarantine if needed - will be a way of cruising for a while. Other guest may be asked to leave pending they're port location.
Glad we purchased trip insurance regardless of being VAX'ed.
Oh well we will do all we can to have fun and use common sense.

I think the inside rooms are much cooler than the balcony just due to the glass and door leading to the outside....In general we freeze at night and wear sweatshirts.....we bring a blanket to cover our legs too.....but would rather have it cold than uncomfortable heat when we are all sunburnt!

I get it, good luck and I'm sure they can help ya out....when you board ask the Martie'd ahead of time
Enjoy your cruise....we're sure you'll "figure" it out....LOL
Again have fun and don't let this stuff bother you, I can't remember MDR chairs with arms on any Carnival Cruise
ENJOY!!!!!!

No, we want the room picked up twice regardless.....sailed many a lines and this is the normal....Carnival has and is trying to do less with less, yet using Covid as an excuse....if they have VAX crew then what's the issue?.....but the the price remains the same....just our expectation and will not back down....

We are of the opinion as long time customers (Carnival ((platinum)) and other lines) this is an expectation of morning and evening cabin service, although I don't think vacuuming or heavy clearing is needed twice. Just a quick clean up. Ever try to get ice to the room on a Carnival cruise in the afternoon? You're better off going to a bar area yourself and that was before Covid.
So who know and we will adapt.

in the case of cruising, CDC is correct. it should ONLY be VACCINATED.
Agreed....stay the course until the Pandemic is controlled, which is going to be a long time!
I respect if someone doesn't want the VAX, but they need to be tested for the protection of others and the cruise industry.
Big picture - the cruise line does not want to start and fail.

Um, I am vaccinated. LOL.Then pay for the insurance which half the people do regardless, get pre-tested and post tested, plus other test on-board. Ports disembarkation is to the county.

Just call Carnival and ask for a last minute del! Ya never know.

You may be mistaken about the unvaccinated not being able to cruise. The CDC allows up to 5% unvaccinated to cruise. They will allow unlimited unvaccinated to cruise as long as the cruise lines do test cruises. Your impression about the unvaccinated not being able to cruise is misguided. This lawsuit isn't about vaccine passports. You might want to look into the Norwegian lawsuit, which is. Boom.BOOM chicken chicken dinner it ain't over yet non VAX!
Do a VAX cruise (with) or seek common sense.....but then again you can't take stupid out of stupid or those that won't look in the mirror.....

Wow, Ribs sound excellent, my wife we love them....we will try them and thank you all.
90% excited, yet a slight bit of apprehension in our old age.....please don't laugh at my mask....

What ship are you on.
On vista for instance it's just what it says, bbq and sides. I liked it and the sides. Yes it's free. I prefer the pulled pork. They have buns on the side to make sandwiches
On sister horizon its moved into the pig and whistle and dinner I believe has ala carte, but have only been on vista and lower.
We are on the Horizon and wondered? Any others please comment and thank you for your reply!!!!

First time we had this on our cruise with a Guy's Pig & Anchor Smokehouse.
Is this included or is there an upgrade? Maybe lunch is included, not dinner?
Would like to know about the cost and how was the food - can't see how Guy's would be a let down.
A menu would be great!!!!

Just so they don't cancel my cruises. I've had 15 cancelled already and will go crazy if they cancel another one. Personally, I wish 100% had to be vaccinated.
Spot on!

My DH and myself are sailing with our son and his family on the Mardi Gras 10/2. We have four grandchildren. Three of the grandchildren are from our daughter-in-law's previous marriage. Her ex has made it very clear he will not allow the kids to be vaccinated. They are 15, 13 and 11. He has plenty of medical background. He has a doctorate in physical therapy and his wife is an RN. I say this, as I think a lot of people think those who don't want to be vaccinated, are not either well educated, or don't understand the science. In this case, they are both equally educated and well read. MY DH son, and family are not anti vaxxers, but my husband and I (and most of my son and his family) have already had Covid back in the fall. We weren't planning on getting the vaccine, unless we can't travel without it. My issue has been from the beginning is, how fast it was brought to the masses. That is all, and I am not here to argue its merit one way-or-another. With the uptick of Covid growing again, I am wondering there will be any allowances for children (5%) to sail without being vaccinated? Of course, we have alreayd paid for the cruise in full, several weeks ago. The youngest grandchild is 5 years old. Can we cancel if need be, and reschedule in 2022? Anyone know if this is a possibility. This is already (like so many others) a rescheduled cruise with Carnival, with two more yet to be rescheduled. I realize my TA is not going to really know anymore than Carnival shares, but wondered what you all would recommend? I did call her and left a message, but she has not returned the call as of yet. I thank you all kindly in advance for your suggestions and sound advice.
Suggest you cancel and reschedule to 2022 or reconsider the VAX. (Moderna)
I recently read a negative post cruise from a family whom was blaming Carnival as her children were not allowed off any of the 4 stops due to non vax. Plus many children activities are shut down - that's been announced all along yet they still found fault.
Carnival has posted many notes about the requirement and subject countries can change at the last minute pending the current uptick. Bimini actually shut down the cruise ship the other week. Maybe they'll reopen or have again?
So common sense goes along way and you treated this with dignity - asking the way you did - well done!.
Just saying I hope you get on a cruise at some point.
Nothing like a family traveling together or a reunion on a cruise!
Good luck!

Boom any unvaccinated out BOOM

Hope they require it on all cruise going forward with the recent court ruling - a victory for us vax pax's in Florida.

Once a day house keeping???
in Carnival Cruise Lines
Posted
Well, now I can speak from experience.
This topic is not correct. It should cabin service. I mean clean once a day and service the room with towels, ice, and turn down down the bed late.
so we chose late.
the wife likes to sleep in while I’m on the deck by 6:30 having coffee and quiet time before the crowd.
how was my experience compared the the other cruises.
towels - got her to give us 4.
she learned or knew of our plans when ashore. So that worked out. Clean while gone more midday.
ice only a bit but have tried.
we can not rate her as carnival is Ofer working the staff and doing with less due to $$$ imo.
when nit doing the Roma they have them scrubbing the walls and rails all the hallways
learning that many in this cruise were comp from the casino. We were paying customers
nonetheless, not up to pre Covid standard Carnival Serivce.
I haven’t even begun on the QR or lack of fun times - I’m high tech but this has got to change
you’ll need a portable battery and cord with your phone to survive. Freaking SUCKS!
