Hi - We're on the HOTS in Jan and purchased the ultimate dining and drink package. We've never eaten in the specialty restaurants before and would love some feedback/suggestions on your favorite menu items. Many thanks for the advice.
I am looking at booking an Oasis class ship, what is the ultimate dining and drink package? I am not familiar with it? Sorry to ask on your thread.

I have a question about the NCL internet package. On their website the only description I see is: "
The time plan gives you 100 minutes of internet connectivity. Save $3.95 USDActivation Fee when you book online."
Can anyone please verify if that's just solely internet connection? Or do you also get cell service for phone calls and text with that? There is hardly any information regarding this on the NCL website.
Thanks in advance.Zdub86,
I sailed the Epic in march and to stay connected to home I used the NCL iconceirge app. Down load it before you go on your cruise, when you are on board your can turn your phone to airplane mode and log in. It will charge you a $8.99 access fee, then you can call home fro .79 cents a minute. It worked great for me since I didn't need or want actual internet access. Here is the NCL link to explain more about it.

I don't know which of you it is. But Gary, or Carla, you are rude and unneeded in this thread. Please go awayI was going to type a slightly different answer, but notice the OP is sailing SOLO. Hmmm...Generally, there are at least two ways to do this. They BOTH have hassles.
1 - Book with NCL. Deal with their transfer schedule. Sit and wait for bus to fill, etc. Take whatever hotel they give you. Deal with THEIR transfer times. Hotels and transfers are per person. Transfer might be cheaper for solo. Hotel will probably book you as a double.
2 - Rent car and deal with that hassle. Have total freedom to go where you want. Book your own hotel. Better rate.

Yes I am sailing solo this cruise. I get a lot more vacation time than my wife and I love to cruise, so I booked a short 4 day on the Epic.
I have a reservation at the Radisson where I stayed last time and I booked my own shared shuttle. So that is why I was wondering if others have had experience with the NCL option.

Great idea. Just a little pricey for the ride for ine person. I'm sailing solo thia cruise.I would book at the Hyatt MCO and take private transportation the day of the cruise. I do this all the time for cruises out of Port Canaveral.I have a driver I always use and he gives us a quick grocery stop on the way for anything we might've forgotten or didn't feel like packing (e.g., my husband doesn't travel without a family-sized bottle of mouthwash ... Ridiculous).
My driver has a 10-pax van and charges just over a hundred bucks for the van.

Yes. I did that this April. My specific question was about the precruise hotel package offered by ncl. Nothing else. I know how to search and book hotels. I asked specifically if anyone has had experience with the NCL option!!!I do not quite understand the issue here. Do you KNOW of any hotels which are close to the port? Have you searched for any? If you do/have I would book them directly and take a TAXI or a hotel shuttle to the port.Sent from my SM-N920R4 using Forums mobile app

I'm trying to avoid the hassle of renting a carI believe NCL charges per person, so it honestly may be way cheaper to book direct. We usually rent a car at the airport, stay near the port, and return the car to a location near the port. They all have free shuttles to take you to the port or its a $10 Uber ride if you don't want to wait. This is almost always cheaper than a shuttle and definitely cheaper than a taxi/Uber from MCO to PC.
Budget, Enterprise, Alamo, National, and Avis all have free shuttles to PC from their Cape Canaveral locations.

I usually book my own hotel and figure out my own way of getting to the port. In Miami this is not a problem, but in April when I sailed out of Port Canaveral it was kind of a pain. I am thinking about the NCL pre-cruise hotel package when I sail the Epic out of Canaveral again. Has anyone used this before? If so what has your experience been?

Rustic Inn in Fort Lauderdale is a great seafood restaurant. I don't think they are all you can eat but everything I have ordered there was wonderful.
One of my friends suggested that to me so check it out onYelp and it looks great. Unless I find something I think we will go there

you do realize that virtually ALL crab you find in restaurants is the same frozen crab you can buy and prepare at home?
Don't take this the wrong way but WHY come to Florida to eat frozen crab from Alaska?
Even local stone crab is cooked and frozen at the dock ...... because crab breaks down FAST. Unless you see it swimming live b4 cooked, you are getting frozen stuff!
Just trying to save you $$ .... you can buy a box of crab legs at COSTCO and prepare at home ..... same stuff, easy to 'reheat' and costs WAY less . . .
Yes I fully understand that. But it is just part of the experience[emoji3].

Billy's Stone Crab Restaurant--the lucky owner of the web domain http://crabs.com :o--offers all you can eat Stone Crabs or Alaskan King Crab in season. Online menu of course says "Market Price" which depends on the size of the crab claws you order. A post from a year ago had AYCE "select" (size in between medium and large) for $90.
Great! I will check it out. Thanks again

Hi,
We will be sailing out of Fort Lauderdale for our next cruise and I would love to find an all you can eat seafood restaurant. Does anyone know of any? Have any to suggest?
TIA

Well... It has happened. My wife, who thought cruising was just ok until our sailing on the Equinox this past May, has decided that we should keep sailing. As long as it is on Celebrity. We now have 2 more book. One each for the next 2 years. So we are excited for a 7 day Silhouette in 2018, and an 11 day on the Reflection in 2019.

Open toed men's footwear at dinner? Not a good look.
Welcome to New School;)

These choices are very typical ! Nice Pictures.
There WILL be men in sport coats and suits, as well as a few tuxes on chic night. But not necessary.
Thank you very much! This was our first Celebrity cruise and we wondered if we would feel out of place due to our age and that we generally do not want to get dressed up. We found that Celebrity was perfect for us. It was more relaxed than we expected. The other passengers, though usually older than us, were super friendly. Also for nights that we didn't feel like getting "dressed" for dinner, we found the evening buffet to have a lot of great options... also the view is great and it is much quieter for dinner. We are sailing the Silhouette in April 2018 and looking to book for 2019 also.

You asked for some pictures. These are from our on the Equinox in May.

I have no idea why these are sideways. Lol

We recently sailed out of Miami in May and booked at the Double Tree biscayne bay. You can walk the 3/4 mile to Bayside or just take an uber or lyft for $4... much better option in my opinion. We really enjoyed the hotel and here is a link to my video of the room. Let me know if you have any questions.

I've been using Photobucket for years to share my pictures and charts on Cruise Critic.
Photobucket just cut the links and wants me to pay $400 per year.
I can understand that they don't want people to use their services without payment but unless someone want to send me a check, my picture posting days are over. (except on a nameless site where I can load pictures directly)
There are other hosting sites available but which ones do you use that are easy to use and don't charge a fee?
I found it was the easiest to use the app. It is just like sending a picture in a text message. Also if you are like me all the pictures I want to share are in my phone any way
