Honestly....is it worth it? We're pretty local to the port, so we'll be driving in and parking near the terminal so no airfare type issues. We plan on giving our suitcases to the porter when we arrive but carrying them off ourselves. Besides medical issues, what does this $109pp for this protection really cover? Do I need it?

I'll be dancing right along with you tomorrow! Yay for vacations!!!

We're doing Passion Island & the French Key. Do I really not need an excursion to go to those beaches? When we sailed back in 09 we were scheduled to do Passion Island but it was supposed to be on the Twister. It wasn't raining, but that was the year there was a hurricane after hurricane season & they canceled our excursion due to bad weather even though there was no rain & the hurricane had been the week before.

We sail in less than 2 weeks & when I check the forecast for the ports we'll be visiting it looks like we may have to face rain. My question is for the beach type excursions....will they cancel those since rain isn't exactly beach weather? Or are we stuck going to the beach in the rain or losing out on that prepaid excursion?

We're booked in a spa balcony on the Magic. When I checked prices and pros/cons it was the best choice for us. I think no matter what you book you always wonder if the grass is greener. We sail in 14 days & all I can think is "should we have upgraded to the suite?!"

Thank you so much for sharing that. It's exactly the kind of thing I'd been looking for. Our cabin isn't on it, but the one down the hall is!

We're looking forward to trying out the Steakhouse & Cucina on our cruise in a couple of weeks. I've already made reservations for the Steakhouse (for the life of me I don't know how I navigated to that page....never managed to do it on purpose). Do we need / can we make reservations for Cucina?

My hubby and I are sailing the Magic in a couple weeks & I was curious if there are any perks for past guests. Granted this is only our second cruise, but I'd love to take advantage of anything that's offered.

This is something we're really interested in doing. Is it usually on a specific day? Or should I just keep an eye on the Capers?

After doing a little more research, I feel silly for that last post. It looks like it's actually cheaper a the hotel. The terminal parking would be $65 for the 7 days.

Precisely what I was hoping to hear...thank you thank you thank you! I'm assuming it's free to park there?

We're cruising the Carnival Magic out of Galveston in January for 7 days and I'm trying to decide if it's worth paying the hotel $50 for the combined shuttle service/parking fee while we're gone. We'll be driving into Galveston & I'm wondering how safe and secure it would be just to leave our vehicle there at the terminal. I recall there being a lot of parking there when we went in 2009, but I just don't know if it's common for vehicles to be left there for the duration of a cruise. Any input would be greatly appreciated!
Vacation Protection?

I apologize for asking a question that's obviously been asked before. I should have searched, I was just looking for more specific to me responses I guess. I thought a lot of times the vacation protection deals more with transfers from the plane to the ship and vice versa & I won't be dealing with any of that.
As for whether I'm "new" or a "lurker", I don't come on these boards 24/7/365. I come here when I book a cruise and want information. I've been a member here for over 5 years if that answers your question.
For those of you who actually answered my question and/or shared your experiences and input, thank you. I think I'll keep the protection, just to be on the safe side. Thanks.
