  1.

Why? Because they think it adds something to the cruise experience, while NCL obviously doesn't.

As stated, though I hesitate to endorse that any major cruise line serves northern lobster tails (not just Maine, but we have the best!) in the MDR (more common is the spiny lobster tail), unless they are offering the whole lobster, it is frozen, and to my taste freezing changes the flavor and consistency of the meat, and makes it not at all worth while.

We live in Massachusetts and every other weekend we are in Kennebunkport, Maine. The Maine lobster can't be beat. Truly the best!!!

  2. My finale payment is coming up at the end of the month and I’m hoping I have a clue where we are going by then. I’m on the February 3rd cruise going to St. Thomas, p.R. , St. Martin and Tortola. All are in bad shape. They changed the Breakaway which had some of the same islands and leaves the day before so I’m keeping my fingers crossed for some answers before end of the month.

I saw somewhere online that Carnival Cruise is planning to be in PR this week. That seems like good new.

  3. No. I'm on the Nov 11 sailing and we haven't heard anything yet either

We're on this sailing as well and haven't heard word on where we may end up. I hope they're saving the best for last. Fingers crossed. I don't want to end up in Port C. We tried to going to Bermuda last year and ended up in the FLA/BAHAMAS route. Port C is not Bermuda.

  4. Is anyone familiar with the more intricate parts of the NCL cancellation policy? In short, the sail date is less than 40 days, so I understand there is a 25% fee if I cancel.....but at what point does NCL policy become more flexible?

My parents are booked on the 10/31 11 day Gem out of NYC. Every port on the itinerary is now inaccessible, and NCL hasn't announced a revised itinerary. Their concern is that either they'll end up sailing to Canada, or the sailing will be extended to allow for a Western itinerary, or shortened for a Bermuda/Nassau/GS Cay/Port Canaveral type sailing.

If the itinerary is changed dramatically (like to Canada) or lengthened/shortened, might NCL allow passengers to rebook to a later sail date?

We are on sailing on Nov 11th from NYC on the GEM. There is no way they will re-route this cruise to Canada. Especially at this time of the year.

  5. Just received the same. Our cruise is not until March 3, 2018.

We also received and email from NCL yesterday with the same info. We sail from NYC on the GEM to Eastern Caribbean but have no idea where we'll end up. The impact of Maria hitting Puerto Rico is terrible. We were at least hoping to make it to PR but I don't think this is in the cards.

  6. Hang in there. San Juan is fine, St. Thomas is a slim maybe, but the other 2 won't be ready. Western caribbean isn't very easy for a 10 day sailing from NY. It takes 4 days to get to the western from NYC, 4 days back, or 3 days if it's triangular with San Juan for example. Your cruise could be a combo of some kind. I have a similar situation with Breakaway Dec. 3, a 12 day sailing. Western is a stretch. Hoping they will adapt ours to a part southern keeping 3 ports and putting in 2 new replacement ports (we'd lose one as a new day at sea.)

I would live to see NCL re-route us to the Southern Caribbean. I have a feeling we will end up in PR, Nassua, Port C in FLA. Not sure Western Caribbean is feasible from the NYC port.

  7. Help with a decision please ! Should we drive into Boston for cruise or take the train. We are coming in from Connecticut and the money is the same. Just can't decide [emoji849]

The parking is very reasonable compared to the NY parking scene. The parking lot is across the street from the terminal with easy on and off access. .

  8. My husband and I are also on the GEM sailing from New York on Nov. 11th. Should be interesting to see where we end up. I pray for all those people who live on the islands so badly destroyed. St. Thomas holds a very special place in my heart and I was married there. It's heartbreaking. NO matter where we go...it's a vacation and away from work.
