Now we have a problem. I just called the Mexican Consulate but was told they are NOT taking applications for new passports 😟

If you are cruising only into Mexico ports, you only have to worry about his permanent resident card being up to date. I had my mom with us a few years back doing the Mexican Riviera and all she needed was her permanent resident card.

Exactly what rate did your buddy book under? It's very hard to find any rates these dates that aren't early saver, especially when the deposit amounts are lowered?

Good question that I don't know the answer to. I booked on a Saturday night, and I know that the promo I was booking under there was a count down clock going. He didn't make it before the time was up. Then the next day there was some other promo going where it was also $50 pp deposit. He booked at that time.

Good morning! I have two rooms booked for our family on the Vista in July 2021. We booked with $50 deposits. My husband and are in one room and our 4 kids are across the hall from us.

I paid the deposits plus $500 on each room. I submitted the price protection form for a price drop on both cabins. It was accepted for the room with 2 but not for the room with 4.

Any idea why? It’s been denied twice.

    Thanks!

Are you sure that they were both booked under early saver rates? My buddy and I both booked the same cruise under $50 deposit pp promos in Nov '19 for a cruise in Nov '20. Apparently I booked under early saver, but he did not when he did his. So when I noticed rate drops I got my price adjusted, but he was denied.

I submitted a form yesterday and got an almost immediate reply with the reduction in price, but then this morning I got an email saying I needed to pay an additional $350 deposit (I had already paid $500 in November) AND they moved my final payment date up 2 weeks. I’ve  tried calling but hung up after being on hold over an hour.

    has this happened to anyone?

What I was told (early last month) when I called to do a price match is that I had to bring my deposit amount up to what a person that is booking making a brand new booking at that rate would be. For example, when I booked my cruise back in Nov for this coming Nov I had booked under a $50 pp deposit sale that was happening. Then when I repriced, the deposits were "reduced deposits". Someone booking the cruise for the first time when I was trying to reprice would have to pay a $350 deposit (three people in my room). So since I previously had only paid $150 deposit, I had to pay the $200 difference in order to get the rate drop.

Recently I repriced the rate for my in-laws and had to bring their deposit up to $298 from $100.

The way I see it, I plan on going to on the cruise, and the total has to be paid of anyways. So for a lower over all rate, I had no problem bringing up my deposit.

  5. This would be interesting to hear from people trying to board and their experience. I never even thought of the whole CPAP thing, and I use one.

I am/was contemplating a cruise to Alaska next year and the exact same cruise in a balcony is $1299 on my browser. VIFP rate. On my daughter's account, also VIFP she gets the exact same balcony room for $1224 pp.  WTH?!  Is there a way to explain this and how can I get the same rate that my daughter does?

Is your daughter going on the cruise as well? If so it would not be a problem to get the rate that is shown on her VIFP. I booked a cruise using my VIFP for an upcoming Nov cruise. Then I later saw that the same cabin category was cheaper using my wife's VIFP number. I called up carnival and they applied the rate listed under her number for us.

  7. I just happened on a $30 rate drop for our Panorama cruise that is booked for Nov. Not much, but better than nothing I suppose.

Got the rate change speaking to customer service because the price was actually $30 cheaper with my wife's VIFP number. Same onboard credit, but there was a little higher deposit that was due. The representative was making it very clear that in order for the $30 price change, I had to pay up the deposit (I originally booked under a $50 pp deposit). So I just had to pay the difference to make it what today's deposit would be if I were making a new booking.

And for me those temps are not cold at all.  But I am from Canada where we really know what cold is.

I must be part Canadian because those temps are more than warm enough for me! 😋

I enjoy what would be considered "cold" weather around here (30's).

  9. ditto what klfhngr  said above about it going and coming.

That said I have been on the itinerary 3 times at the tail end of the month of November into the first week of December. I have always found the temps to be comfortable (high 70's low to mid 80's) and the water temps to be in the mid to high 70's.

Depending on the cruise, final payment is be due at 75 or 90 days. In the past, it used to be 60-90 days depending on the cruise.

the payment schedule is here: https://help.carnival.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/481/~/deposit-and-final-payment-requirements

For our 8 day cruise in March, final payment was 12/31 and check-in was 12/15.

We booked before the change an it is a 4 day cruise. Our final payment is due 60 days prior.

Last time we cruised, we selected our check in time as soon as we booked. Now I see it can't be done until you are three months out. A few questions if anyone knows the answer:

    - Does it open at midnight on the date that it opens?

    - Does the cruise have to be paid in full before selecting a check in time?**

    - Does all the names have to be filed in for each cabin before selecting a check in time? **

**We have a group going, and one cabin is split families. I made the booking, and only paid the deposit, because I am concerned that the two family members in the cabin being shared may not pay their portion before the final payment date (which is a month after check in selection time). If they don't pay, then we have someone else on stand by to take their place, which is the reason I haven't filled in passenger names yet.

It opens at midnight eastern, so depending on your timezone, it may be earlier.

    No

No - you can get a time and then simply fill in the rest at a later time.

The middle no makes little sense (unless I am missing something). Isn't final payment due at the 90 days (which is when online check in would open)?

  12. My buddy and I had a great time at Alchemy while on the cheers program on the Breeze back in April of 2018. I really enjoyed the cucumber sunrise and wanted to have it as a spicy drink. The bartender there would go out of his way every day prior to opening to find a hotter chili pepper to muddle into my drink. It was like a game to see if he can get me to tap out to the spice (nothing he was able to get his hands on did the trick). We got great service there and everyone was friendly.

  13. For Puerto Vallarta I have heard that Crown Paradise Club offers day passes. If that is true, that would be a great spot for you in PV. It is close to port, and is very kid friendly as far as the pools go. My family and I spent a week there last summer and our son really enjoyed the kid atmosphere. For Mazatlan, I would recommend just going to stone island. It  is something that you can easily get to via the water taxi, and the water is very calm. There are plenty of places there on the beach where you can grab food and drinks without breaking the bank. Cabo... there I dont really have much info for you. We have been but mostly have just stuck around Medano beach and splashed with our son there. We have done the itinerary multiple times with him and he was always good there even at his youngest which was when he was about a year and a half.

  14. When my son was that age we took some toys so he would be entertained when we were in the cabin as well as a tablet with preloaded shows that he liked to watch. We also would cruise with some basic medicines (tylenol, zarbees for possible cough, thermometer).

As is mentioned no swimming for children if they are not potty trained, so something such as this might be helpful if traveling in a balcony room shopping?q=tbn:ANd9GcSYsHk7oBcK3vy7acqyM

    Also helpful for bathtime.

  15. When I cruised out of Galveston last year we stopped at the train museum prior to the cruise. You can do that when you get back. Although I think we only took about an hour, maybe an hour and a half there. We had dropped off our luggage, and then only walked over to the museum with our rolling carry on. But the people at the train museum kept it for us while we toured the area.

One thing that we did do prior to leaving on our flight (that also was later in the day upon returning) is we went to have some food. The shuttle service that was taking us to the airport left us to eat a restaurant while he dropped other people at the other airport. He then came back to get us to take us to our departure airport.

From what I recall seeing is that there are other general points of interest there near the port that you can look up and spend some time at. You can go over to a place called the cruise stop and they will hang on to your luggage while you site see for a fee.

  16. Hello.

I've never sailed Carnival before, going on our first one with our friends in January. I see that Carnival assigns a check-in time for you. How do we ensure that both couples get the same time? Do we need to link our reservations somehow? I would hate for one couple to have to wait a lot longer than the other one to board. We will be sharing ride to port.

    Thanks.

When you do your online check in, you get to pick from the available time slots. Just coordinate it over the phone when doing the online check in process.

  17. No, and not only that, we saw parents with a kid in diapers in it in Feb. Yuck.

I was on the Breeze the last week of April and saw a dad get upset over the fact that he was told his diaper wearing son was not allowed up in the waterworks area. Personally I was glad that the crew member enforced the rule. I have previously felt that crew members just look the other way far too often. When I cruised with my son while in diapers I simply avoided the pools. Why should everyone else have to suffer if my child were to have an accident while in there? I guess too many people just don't think that way.
