  1. We stayed on Deck 6 last year, aft. The cabin is 6448. We were close to the Red Frog and heard nothing from our balcony. Also, it was far enough aft that we could look straight down and see the water as the promenade narrows at that point. We loved the location of our cabin.

    Thank you!

  2. I just booked Dave Koz 2017 cruise!:D:)

2017 Dave Koz Cruise VOYAGE TWO

A few weeks ago, we made the long-waited announcement for our 2017 cruise, “VENICE and BEYOND”…little did I know what was about to happen! This was the fastest sell-out in our history…(just 4 days!!) My team and I were overwhelmed and truly humbled by how many people wanted to be a part of this exciting “bucket-list” week at sea. But due to the unprecedented demand, so many folks were unable to secure a cabin.Well, you asked…and we listened. Was there something we could do to take care of more people who want to join in the fun for a Venice and Beyond dream vacation?

I put it to my team to find a solution, and I am thrilled to share this wonderful news with you today:

Dave Koz & Friends at Sea

    VOYAGE TWO – May 16 – 23, 2017

Hattack ~ I have some fond memories of cleaning the house on Saturday mornings and listening to music. A couple of years ago, my brother, mother and I were on a road trip we were listening to Bobby Blue Bland, Minnie Ripperton, and Etta James. lol I haven't listened to Bobby Bland or Minnie Ripperton since I was a child..... but gosh it sure brought back some awesome childhood memories of our cleaning, singing and just being silly kids.

I'm considering doing that cruise. Those are some awesome ports!

  3. final thought..the Tom Joyner Fantastic Voyage Cruise (in March of 2016) will sell out...folks were upset that for the past few years Tom has lower his prices near the end to sell out his cruise, so many are waiting to see if he will do so this year before booking ..it becomes a game of "chicken" where no one ones to be on the losing end. so look for a big "surge" in bookings before the end of October ..it helps Tom that Ford is now a "title sponsor"

I think it helped that they allowed those of us that cruised this year to book at current year prices through the end of May. And yes, Ford is a great sponsor

Hey Hattack, Tom did not lower his prices this past year in 2015. A lot of people were upset, but it wasn't fair to the people who had booked a full price. Mind you the people that in the past had gotten onto the cruise via the "fire sale" did not get the same taxable deduction that we did, but they did get to cruise at a cheaper price.

A lot of us are already booked. I think it will sell out before the end of October or at the latest the end of November.

I'm happy that all of the major music charter cruises are thriving.

  5. Chyna are you on the wait list for 2016 or 2017?

I'm on the wait list for 2016. I see now that they haven't started booking 2017, so my apologies. I read it wrong. It was confusing from the website though. Maybe I will be able to do 2017 after all.

  6. Wow, Dave Koz 2017 cruise is sold out as well. I was hoping to gift my sister a jazz cruise for her 50 birthday. I thought I had plenty of time she turns 50 in 2017.... I am too darn late:o I have wait listed for Dave Koz. I didn't receive any information for the 2017 capital jazz cruise. I will check with them and see if I can get on a wait list.

You can wait list for the Capital Jazz cruise. I did so day before yesterday.

  7. So far the Soul Train cruise, Festival at Sea and The Capital City Jazz cruises for 2016 have all sold out. The Capital City Jazz Cruise for 2017 has also gone on sell and sold out. The only one left is Tom Joyner Fantastic Voyage 2016 that hasn't sold out. It appears that these cruises are really gaining in popularity in spite of the cost.

  8. Thank you all for your kind words in congratulating me in getting my money back. I too hope and pray all involved in this matter get their money back so they can plan for their next cruises or vacations as the spring/summer months approach us. As far as planning another cruise through anyone else, it will be hard press for me to trust anyone else though web sites in planning for another cruise. This has truly put a bad taste in me and my wife mouth in paying for another cruise through the internet. If any of you know where I can go and talk to a person face to face in planning any other cruises, please let me know. I think I will go though a travel agency to plan the next one but we are open to looking at something else that we will for sure vet to the upmost before putting up this kind of money again. I have to believe others that has went or going through this must feel the same way. For sure, anything with the name of BTW or Maxwell on it, we will be out from the start. It will take a long time to get over the anger in me for this. Thanks

You can always talk to Tom Joyner's reps rather than booking online. The number is (972) 980-7245. They've been doing this for a 15 years and will make you feel comfortable with booking.

  9. Charter cruises generally cost more than regular cruises, but I have yet to see a price tag like this for anything less than an owner's suite on board a charter cruise... I'd love to have a balcony cabin on a charter, but on my charter of choice, it'll cost me about half of that - and I travel alone!

Solo cruisers generally shell out more, but even with that, there's a limit...

A balcony on the Tom Joyner cruise for 2 peoplel goes for around $8000-$9000, and as I've stated before...half of that is tax deductible!

  10. Yes, there are shelves in the second bath to store toiletries. The amount of storage available is about half as much as in the full bath. The tub is also a "junior" tub, big enough for a child but not for most adults. It's a shower/tub combo though, so you could have two people showering at the same time in the two bathrooms. I love these rooms!

Thank you. I just wanted to see if at least one of us in the cabin could store our toiletries in that bathroom so as not to crowd the main bathroom too much. There are three of us in the cabin. I think I'm going to love it!

  11. bigque....would invite you take the leap and try one and see why it's the best value if you are a fan of supporting live music & cruising...it's so much more then just buying 2 tickets, enjoying the performances then going home

You hit the nail on the head! It's definitely worth it for me. 2-3 concerts per night. Seminars/games and other fun activities during the day and not to mention the people you meet and relationships you build. We have an absolute ball...

  12. I just received a call from Wendy at BTW. She said I can get a credit for another BTW event (HELL NO!), file a claim with Travel Guard or dispute the claim with my credit card company. I told her I just want my money back. I also told her I would like to receive a letter stating that the cruise was cancelled so I can file a claim. I asked her when the charter was cancelled, she told that BTW found out when Maxwell cancelled; which is a lie. Royal Caribbean cancelled the charter in November.

That's absolutely ridiculous! Royal Caribbean was not doing business with Maxwell directly. These people are crooks. I get it, they don't have you all's money, but to just continue to lie about the situation is horrible.

  13. That cruise is always priced high also because of all the acts and The Tom Joyner Foundation! I personally wouldn't go on any of them. I'll pay the regular price for a cruise and then go see some of these acts when they are traveling together in multi act concerts and pay 50 to a hundred bucks depending on where I want to sit. But that's just me!

Yes, it's expensive (but the majority is tax deductible) and I don't try to sell anyone one it if it's not your thing. However, we have a great time and I've never been on a regular price cruise and don't really see myself doing so anytime soon. That's actually how much fun I have. Everyone is different, though.

  14. Even if this information is correct, it doesn't mean that this event can't still occur as a "large group" with special events planned.

I still believe that is what will happen. I don't think the Maxwell Cruise has been entirely cancelled -- it's just a much smaller version than originally planned. It's not any kind of a charter, yes, but it can still be a group!

I don't think the Maxwell folks would have gone to the trouble of updating their website to remove the language about it being a "full ship charter" if it was going to be cancelled entirely.

Possibly, but there is no way that all of the main stream artists listed on their website could be afforded with only a large group. Anthony Hamilton alone was going to be $18,000 for someone I know that had a good deal on him. Chrisette has sky rocketed also...And mind you, this cruise was not going to be for charity so I doubt that the artists would sway very much on their pricing.
