  1. Thank you all, Have not been on NCL in a while, from your helpful answers I can tell it's not that different from other ships, particularly the advise about the Garden Cafe. For reassurance, I agree that the Library is a quiet space, and understand that buffet seating is limited.
  2. Hi, am sailing on the Star in a few weeks and looking for good places to meet up to play cards, board games, and Mah Jongg. Looking for square or round tables, 38-42 inches or so. There will be talking. I understand the buffet restaurant has limited seating so that's not a good idea. Is there a dedicated game room on board, if not, what has been your experience? Thank you!
  3. I arrived Sunday 1/14 Terminal 29 from Reflection. Walked off 7:30 am, no customs delay. Facial recognition in place. 10:30 flight would have been easy. My opinion is that if you are timely and have transportation to the airport arranged, great plan.
  4. Based on my current experience with a passport that will expire before the cruise (don't ask) as a backup plan get a certified copy of the passenger's birth certificate. For a closed loop cruise departing from the US, Passports are not required, but without one a certified birth certificate is. Have a great trip!
  5. Our experience has been that wine purchased in port is confiscated/retained/stored until the night before disembarkation.
  6. Expedition cruising in the Galapagos is very different than most cruises. The entire area is a closely managed national park, and you will not set foot on the ground, nor snorkel, without supervision by a Ecuadorian certified guide. There is no walking around on your own, Groups stay together with a guide at all times. Please be sure you are in good physical condition, able to board a zodiac that is moving in swells, climb a steep staircase, and walk at least 1/2 mile on uneven terrain.
  7. There were no “white” or any other themed nights on our January 2023 Reflection cruise.
  8. Years ago we travelled in a large group (20+ people, age range 2 to 75) and the dining captain let us try out different configurations to see what worked best. Our favorite was two rectangular tables of ten side by side. Our least favorite was big round tables. Have a great cruise!
  9. I was on the Reflection in January 2023. No Pickleball. The only area where it would be possible without a major deck reconfiguration is the aft basketball court. While the basketball court has four net walls, one pickleball court would barely fit on it, it's very windy, and the surrounding deck area is not very hospitable for waiting for the next game. I think it would be possible for the court to be lined and a temporary net to be set up, but conditions would not be good. We joked about setting up a net on the "Lawn" under the movie screen up front.
  10. HI, can any recent travelers tell me if there are Mah Jongg sets on board the Reflection? Bonus points for confirming that they're American sets and if there are extra cards on board. Thank you !
  11. Sooo if I'm in line in the ladies restroom at the airport , and the only stall available is the large accessable stall, none of us should use it?????? Sorry no, access does not mean priority,
  12. if the cruise line feels you fit the criteria to book the accessible Sky Suite, I would say book it. “Accessibility” is not “Priority”. I’ll go make some popcorn now. Have a great trip whatever you decide.
  13. I recently booked and paid for a single friend to join us on a cruise Aqua Class. 150% for the room, one drink, one gratuity package, and one WiFi package.
  14. The OP is Canadian (look under their screen name). Understandable why she’s wary. excellent advice here for the OP, you do not need your purse at the pool or anywhere on board. Carry your phone, get a pocket for the back to slip in your cruise card. Phones have little value to thieves these days because they are trackable and lockable. Take all the advice you were given in port. Have a great trip!
  15. We’ve Turned the loveseat around to face the wall, put a mattress on the floor (both with help from cabin steward), have brought a portable / foldable bed railing, and have used pool noodles slipped under the bottom sheet along the edge of the bed. No mishaps. Pool noodles were the easiest. You can cut them in half to fit in your suitcase. Have a great trip!
