I received an actual e- gift card. Online it says I can just take to guest services and they will apply to my account.  Has anyone done this?

Just did this last evening here on the Symphony. Our kids got us a e gift card which was emailed to us. Took that email to Guest Services last evening and within 10 minutes the amount of the gift card was added to our on board account.
It was easier than trying to do it before the cruise.

We are in a CP Balcony on Allure right now and there is plenty of storage in the cabin. In the last two months we stayed in a CP Balcony on Symphony and Icon. Both cabins didn’t have close to the amount of storage we have on Allure right now. In general it appears cabins on newer ships are more modern looking at the expense of storage areas. Older ships like Freedom and Voyager class ships have plenty of storage areas in the cabin.

Well that just kind of sucks. When you are in a room the size of a shoe box (not complaining, just stating a fact) you would think the idea would be to have as much storage as possible so that the cabin could be somewhat clutter free. But they didn’t ask me, so evidently modern minimalism has won out over practicality.

  3. Ok. I made my post in the middle of the night in a blur of exhaustion, excitement, confusion and anxiety (which is my constant companion.)

I completely forgot about the area above the refrig and the drawers.
Now in the light of day my anxiety is lessening (but still exhausted - I think that I might’ve slept 90 minutes) and I’m no longer worried about where we’re going to put the cups and sunglasses.
    2 more days!

  4. We’ve been on the Oasis and on the Allure and found that the little shelves and nooks surrounding the desk/vanity/mirror to be quite useful. My husband and I would put things like cans of sunscreen, snacks, cups, sunglasses, etc on them. Out of the way but easily accessible.
Here I am ready to embark on Saturday and I’ve probably looked at videos of cabins a dozen times or more. But I JUST noticed that there are none of those handy little places in the cabin on the Symphony - except in the bathroom.
Does anyone have any suggestions where to stash those kinds of items on the Symphony?
I’m losing sleep over this! lol!
Am I going to need to go out and buy an over the door shoe thingie tomorrow? Have taken lots of trips to Disney and 3 cruises and avoided using one of these things. Maybe until now?

We received a gift certificate also for Christmas.  We also had all excursions/drink packages/OBC paid in full. We are doing a B2B starting March 31st and tried to book the Chef's Table using the gift certificate.  We were told, by a RCCL representative, we could not use it to book the Chef's Table over the phone or online and must wait until we get on board. Good luck to us trying to get a Chef's Table reservation that late. If its meant to be, it will be.

Just make sure you redeem asap if using for your sailing in 2 weeks.  They are strict about the timeline to process.

I received one for Christmas and forgot about it.  Then I tried to redeem a week or so before my cruise and was told unable to process that quick.

I’m sorry. That’s just ridiculous in my opinion. Seems like it’s just a way for RC to hold onto other people’s money.

  7. Hi!
We’re 2 weeks from embarkation and our kids got us a $300 Royal Caribbean e Gift Certificate.
We have everything that we wanted to do for this cruise already paid for - meals, drinks, tips, excursions.

Hate to spend the $ just because we have it. The only thing that isn’t paid for is what we would spend at the casino.
Does anyone who have used these e Gift Certificates recently know if we put these in our on board account could we use them in the casino?

  8. We love the Windjammer and will eat about 80% of our meals there. We love the food, the staff, and the casual atmosphere. We don’t care to make meals an event.
We choose to go to the MDR on lobster night for one dress up night. That’s it!
Just our style of cruising. 😊

  9.

What do you think? Our cruise next month was cancelled. We chose to get the 125% in cruise planner for a future cruise. We had already “bought” our drink package, internet package, the escape room and a chops grill dinner.

But we only paid cash for our drink package. The others were purchased with pre trip spendable OBC.

What do you think? Do you think that we’ll get 125% of our cash purchases? Or 125% of the total purchases? My guess that it will only be for the cash purchases since they aren’t transferring most OBC to new bookings. But I thought that I’d see what the rest of you think.

  10. If I’m doing my math right - if $57 is 80% of X then X must be $71.25 per day for our April 19 sailing of the Harmony. So 30% off of that would be just about $50 a day.

May really have to crunch the numbers on this one. Of course we will take it for now and hope that the prices will come down a bit later.

    Or maybe we’ll just cancel.🤷🏻‍♀️
