Completely infatuated with your review. Patagonia is a place I would love to see, so thank you so much for the pics of your initial journey through there. I love your style of writing! I will certainly be following along!

Yes, I did it on the Liberty in March 2015. Not many board in Barbados, however the number has since then increased because they just recently started allowing Americans to board in Barbados (previously it wasn't allowed for some reason, you had to book through a weird travel agent who lived in europe or something).
The sailaway party will be at 10PM on the night you leave San Juan. I believe Barbados have muster drill in the theater before sailing away, but don't hold me to that since it's a new ship.
You will not notice anything different really, all will be good! i want to board from Barbados sometime soon!

You do know that the Splendor is basically a Conquest class ship that is only slightly larger don't you?
The upper deck configuration is different, better in my opinion. Splendor also has Spa Carnival with the Spa staterooms, while Conquest class ships do not. And you're right, it is a bit larger.
I would take Splendor over Conquest, the upper deck design is so much nicer, and I love Spa cabins!

I think Carnival should send Conquest, or maybe a Sunshine-d Fantasy class ship to Australia full time, and have the Spirit go between AU and Alaska, which could free up the Legend. We need another Spirit class here, that could open Tampa again for longer cruises, and maybe in the summer months it could open Europe again. Australian cruises sell very nicely, I don't see why they can't move Conquest down there. And if they took a Fantasy class ship, and did something similar to the Sunshine (one with the balconies already would work) an gut the whole thing and remake it for the chinese market, they'd have a good ship for China as well.
I also hope Splendor stays on the East coast until she is moved to China. I am personally hoping for a Miami-Barcelona TA, then Barcelona-Dubai Suez Canal, then Dubai-Singapore cruise like Quantum did. But in reality I know they will most likely wait for the Panama Canal to open after construction.

Great photos!!! Thanks for sharing!
What's the local beach?
I live in Pasadena, MD, specifically Riviera Beach, MD. Riviera Beach is at the end of the peninsula, which faces the Patapsco River, the channel for all of the traffic in and out of Baltimore. All of the beaches in the neighborhood are public, so I like to go down and sit on the rocks, and watch the ships to this one (The northern beach, if they have actual names, then I don't know them.) You can't swim off of the north beach. Off of the west beach, I believe you can swim, but I still wouldn't. There is no East Beach, as it's all beachfront housing, but I have friends who live in one. So when I want to swim, I go to the East Beach. :)
I love the area that I live in, I'm fortunate to grow up with and still live near the Chesapeake Bay!

Not much of a cruise.
I know, Nassau is practically wasted, as the beach chairs will all be gone by 5. Heck by the time you get to a beach and get settled, the sun will almost be gone. Freeport will be the only decent day.

Sorry, I'm not a fast typer.
It's okay! :)

It was edited before you posted this.

New itinerary:
Sun: Depart Baltimore
Mon: Sea Day
Tues: Sea Day
Wed: Nassau Bahamas 5PM-11:30PM
Thur: Freeport Bahamas 9AM-6PM
Fri: Sea Day
Sat: Sea Day
Sun: Arrive in Baltimore at 9AM
50% refund for this cruise, 50% off a future 2-7 day cruise, $25 per person to offset the meal costs, as they missed both lunch and dinner with the delay.

Actually, they are now missing Grand Turk and HMC.
50% off this cruise, and 50% off a future cruise.
Bummer.
Just fixed it.

Embarkation is scheduled between 9-11PM

I just ventured down to the local beach to snap some pictures of it arriving back into Baltimore. Here is the link to the thread I started:

I agree. On the Carnival Freedom, I was on the last cruise before the 2.0 drydock. Actually, the cruise was not originally scheduled because they wanted to "Sunshine" the Freedom. Either way, we didn't leave FLL until 9:30PM so they could load supplies. The uppermost deck near the basketball court, and that sunning area towards the top, were closed because they had all of the 2.0 stuff. We had to leave Ocho Rios at 2 instead of 2:30 so we could be in FLL at 4AM on arrival day. The whole ship was disembarked by 9:45, and then it went onto Freeport. On the final sea day, all but one shop was closed, and the casino was dying throughout the cruise... on spring break. Don't get me wrong, this was one of my favorite cruises/ships, but if I had not known about the drydock and knew what to expect from Cruise Critic, I would've felt a little slighted.
Happy cruising!

My computer is showing a full summer in Baltimore leaving every Sunday. 7/2/17 is the Bermuda cruise, but every single other cruise for the months of June to August have this itinerary:
Baltimore, MD 4:30PM
Day at Sea
Day at Sea
Grand Turk 8-2:30
Half Moon Cay 9-5
Freeport 7-1:30
Day at Sea
Baltimore MD 9AM
I', interested as to why they are beginning to phase out the Port Canaveral/Nassau/Freeport route, those are popular in the summer. However, I would take the Grand Turk route as well

LOVED your review. It was interesting to see the perspective of a traveler on a small, luxury ship. When I do land trip, I love going to out-of-the-way places to really experience local life, but on my Carnival cruises I feel I lack that. I try my best to enjoy the local places in every port of call. But one day I will have to try Silversea, I really liked the photos I saw of the ship, and the itineraries. Thank you for taking the time to write the review! :D

Hello,
I am looking to go to the rainforest on my next trip to San Juan in December. We will be docked 12PM-8PM. Being December, the sun is likely to set around 5PM-5:30PM. Will we be able to get a good day to really explore and see the rainforest? We have a biologist cruising with us, but she already said that she would rather skip it if she has to be limited time. There is still stuff in OSJ that we would like to see, so what are your recommendations? Do the rainforest for a few hours, or save it for a longer day or a land trip? And if you recommend the rainforest, could you also recommend some companies / which cruise ship excursion you did, and why you enjoyed it?
Thank you!

Thanks for your nice comments! Well, please do come visit Singapore. Here is our tourism website - http://www.yoursingapore.com/en.html
We are famous for our food, not just upmarket stuff but simpler and cheaper hawker fare. One of the most famous dishes would be Hainanese Chicken Rice, which looks like this.

No, only about 10% boards in Barbados.... Being an American cruise line, the bulk is going to board in San Juan. Hence the later stay.
