  1. Thank you for this. My son is DYING to go on either the Oasis or Allure and I chose this ship instead. He will be 16 at the time of sailing and it'll just be us 2. We've never sailed NCL before and I'm worried that I'll regret not just doing what he wants so he can cross it off his bucket list.

Seems a little strange for you to worry about regretting not doing what your 16 year old wants. It's your money that you worked hard for. You are already putting him in to great consideration in choosing a ship. He is so incredibly lucky to be going on any cruise.

Bucket list at 16? Silly. 😝

This is the ship my mom & I have chosen to take my 15 year old nephew on next summer. It's got a fabulous combo for us grownups and him. I'm sure the name (Entourage) of the teen club makes it a little more appealing, too. And, it's right next to one of the adult areas. 😉

I think you made a great decision in choosing a ship. Stick with it. Don't you deserve the best, too? You both can have it. 😁

*He might have friends that have bragged about going on Oasis or Allure. He'll probably be the first to brag about being on the Escape. 😊

  2.

*Subject to a maximum number of spend days equal to your cruise length. Taxes, title and vehicle registration are extra. Please keep your arms and legs inside the ride at all times. This comment was posted from a facility that contains nuts. Taxes and port fees do not count toward your spending total.

We should cruise HAL with you for supplemental entertainment. 😁

  3. I have sailed with Royal about ten times. When I booked a cruise it stated getting the second person half off. When I did not get the half off I called up to inquire about it. They said it did not refer to the cruise I booked. So I sent them a video of the step by step on their website which clearly states that it qualifies. Their response was they made an advertising error

Since my cruise is not until next August I thought about looking into it again since they have the bogo going on. Well I selected different cruise, different ships and they all falsely advertise. For example, a cruise on Liberty next April for a superior balcony is $1143 a person and you get he second person half off. Well if you look at the total for the charges it is not half off. But if you look at the summary of charges they changed the amount from $1143 a person to $1409 a person which is $266 more a person then the price that is stated. Then they take half off the falsely increased amount of the second person. Therefore, you are pretty much paying for the whole amount.

I am really tired of the false advertisement. I hope more people really look at the prices and the so called discount before they book. Royal should not get away with this practice.

This is why we still haven't booked RCL even tho we'd like to try them out. The booking alone is frustrating & deceptive. So, then we're left wondering what we might really be getting in to. I don't want to start a cruise off with a bitter taste in my mouth.

  4. Princess Cays was painful to walk on, terrible food, terrible service. Idk if it was lack of landscaping (just this past December), but there was no breeze. It was a completely dreadful experience. We wished we had stayed on board. Tendering back to the ship took what felt like forever, as it was so hot standing in line and then they packed us in like sardines.

    HMC is paradise!

  5. I just called to inquire about the group on our cruise,

(FYI, in case anyone else wants to do the same:

    Group Administration

    Email: Groups@HollandAmerica.com

    Phone: 1‐888‐425‐9477

    Hours: Monday - Friday 7:00 am - 5:00 pm)

and I was told that they couldn't tell me how big the group was - just that it "shouldn't" impact the cruise activities.

    I guess we shall see!

That's upsetting. Seems their in denial of the impact large groups can have on the rest.

I received the same response. In addition, I was told:

We have large groups onboard all the time and it’s never an issue for other guests. These private parties and events are scheduled during times that would not interrupt the daily schedule.

Now, we know that isn't true.

That's a pretty bad lie. Is it in writing? If so, examples of cruises where regularly scheduled shows/events were cancelled for a group's activities and this statement from HAL need to be brought to a higher up at HAL. I'd definitely want a copy of that statement if I was on one of the affected cruises.

  6. Ugh!!!! I would be so upset. I've never thought to do an internet search for large groups onboard the ship. My search skills don't seem to be that good anyway. But, I think the cruise line should at least inform their other guests. They sold you an experience that was very altered. And as someone else had mentioned, things were taken away from the regular cruisers to benefit this large, favored group. That's just not right; especially since you weren't informed ahead of time.

  7. Went on last years cruise on the Eurodam. If you like the artists on the cruise you'll have a great time. Everyone on the ship is their for the same reason. It was non stop shows late into the night everyday. You can call the folks, and they can answer any questions.

I'm gonna have to keep dreaming & hope I can go one year before they stop having them. Just too expensive for me right now. I love HAL & country music. Just the perfect combo & the nightlife I wish all my HAL cruises had.

  8. You will need to do the initial sign up the day you board. They will give you or him a sheet of the weeks' scheduled activities. He can choose to participate or not. He won't have to be signed in or out like younger kids, but his and your info needs to be on file before he can participate.

    Good to know. Thanks! ☺

And, thank you, OP for posting the question, as this never occurred to me. 😀

  9. I am so glad you posted the highlights so I know NOT to read that review. So bitter about so much tells me this person may be more than difficult to please.

The blunt lie or total confusion where they say only 21 can enter the pool tells me to dismiss anything else they might say, thus making it a review not worth my time.

Don't let that review discourage or worry you! 😁

  10. I wouldn't doubt that no one has stayed there. It is a big downer staying at a motel smack in the middle of nothing but boarded-up shops and restaurants.

Uber has announced it will be ending service in Broward County (Hollywood/Ft Lauderdale) after July 31. And I'm pretty sure even if you have Uber pick you up just over the line in Miami-Dade county no driver will risk taking you to FLL airport or port everglades.

Oh my, that first line made me laugh so hard!

I'm a Florida girl and the old school beach charm kind of appeals to me. I love the variety of bike rentals for the broadwalk (gonna need the exercise).

The other thing is that it is only a couple blocks from the brand new Margaritaville Resort that's due to open in a couple months. I couldn't get a reservation there for November or April (even though I tried on like the second day booking was made available to the public, ugh!). But, I still want to check it out. Just can't use the pools or the rooftop bar.

OK, so, no need to figure out Uber.

  11. It's not OP at the root of the problem on this thread. When someone has set it up, then every post will extend past the right margin.

Maksim has images in her signature strung out side by side, and that is causing the problem when images are not turned off. I have mine off, and it's fine when I read signed in; when not signed in, though, the screen is double wide.

If Maksim would either reset her images so that they are vertical, or remove the obsolete ones, then the problem wouldn't happen when she posts.

Wow, Ruth, you're good for all kinds of info. Thanks 😊

  12. Ok, new to NCL ...this is referring to the specialty restaurants correct?

As long as I have the main dining room, O'sheenan's and most importantly Jimmy Buffets as part of my cruise fare I am all good.

Well along with the UBP I plan on purchasing as well [emoji3]

I think that covers it for me, too.

Although, I am also interested in checking out the dinner shows.
