I am finding this thread very informative as we go to Australia/New Zealand in January 2013.

Jennie - many thanks for your comments on Ayers Rock. We are flying Sydney return and are staying at Sails. Have also booked the Sounds of Silence dinner. Will be amazing to be able to see all the stars without the distraction of city lights!

Outside of Sydney we are planning to go to the Hunter Valley one day and also to the Blue Mountains. Are there any other 'must sees' in the Sydney area?

I am finding this thread very interesting as we are on the same B2B as Pearl (we must chat on our roll call!) and also want to go to Ayres Rock. I appreciate the comment that the driving on the opposite side of the road is not difficult in that area - sounds like a good plan. Do you think 2 nights are enough and does anyone have suggestions on where to stay? We are wanting to do this excursion at the end of the cruise from Sydney.

We are also plannig an Egypt vacation in October 2011 and Scenic tours is a distinct possibility. We hope that you will post a review upon your return. Hope you have a wonderful holiday!:)

We visited Burano & Murano a couple of years ago. We found each quite charming. We liked the glass factory in Murano (had to tear ourselves away before buying too many beautiful pieces!!) and also enjoyed just walking around very colourful Burano. It does make for a full day of touring but if you have already toured Venice, this is a great day out. Enjoy!!:)

Just got the Caribe Hilton on Priceline for March for $80/night (pre-cruise). We are very happy. Just keep trying & hopefully you will also be successful!! Will be our first trip to San Juan and we are really looking forward to it.:)
