Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Trying to determine the best (cheapest?) way to book a beach trip for family with kids (lil ones to early teen). A long time ago, we used Shore Excursioneer. For example, we are looking at Playa Mia @ Cozumel. Booking direct is the same price as Shore Excursioneer. Thanks!
  2. Yes, just trying to see if there is a recommended way to get a good deal... (avoiding cruise line b/c it is much more expensive).
  3. A long time ago, we used Shore Excursioneer. Not sure if that is still a good option. For example, we are looking at Playa Mia @ Cozumel. Booking direct is the same price as Shore Excursioneer. I assume just taking a taxi there is going to be the same or more expensive? Are there any other good options or discounts/coupons? Thank you!
  4. Just trying to get a sense of how safe the library (Voyager class ship) is for a young but mature teenager to be alone (needs to work on a project for school). I assume it is perfectly OK during a sea day, especially with the teen and family both having access to the internet. However, on a port day, is it safe or unsafe to leave a teen alone in the library while the family goes on an excursion? Thank you!
  5. Unfortunately, no. I may have to make a separate thread: If one of the passengers is a "no show", and I booked through this travel agency, how do I get the taxes/fees refunded? Call Carnival? What if they won't talk to me and only will talk to my TA? Will the $ get refunded to my TA or to my credit used with the TA?
  6. After booking, none. I only emailed them months later when we needed a passenger change and didn't receive a reply for 2 weeks. Then my follow up email confirming to go ahead with the changes has received no reply. How do I "fire" the TA? If I call Carnival and explain the situation, will they release the TA so I can make changes myself?
  7. I am unable to get in touch with our travel agent with whom we booked a Carnival cruise. I need to make some changes to our passengers and tried calling Carnival directly. Carnival said I cannot make any changes and that I must go through my travel agent. What can be done? FWIW, the Travel Agent was extremely responsive when booking the cruise but now only responds every 2 weeks at best (I am currently ghosted). Thank you.
  8. Is there any hard limit to how early one can submit a Shareholder Benefit request? Customer service had a vague answer, "advising guests to send in documentation no earlier than 3 months".
  9. Thank you all for the replies. To ngrund: There is a different shareholder in the 2nd cabin. We both hold 100 shares total in a joint account. I have previously received the Shareholder Benefit by submitting the same joint statement, twice separately to the Benefits Credit e-mail person. Has this changed? To others: I was getting my information for "different OBC's have different use limtations" from this UK web site: https://www.cruisemummy.co.uk/carnival-onboard-credit/ She writes, "onboard credit that comes from being a Carnival shareholder can’t be applied to gratuities." Is this incorrect (or at least incorrect for US cruises?)
  10. Hi, I have several specific questions about OBC, bolded below. I will be receiving a small amount of 3 different types of OBC: - Shareholder credit - Booking credit - Travel Agent provided credit I read an article from a UK web site that said each type of OBC has certain limitations: - Shareholder: Cannot be used for Gratuities or Casino - Booking: Cannot be used for Gratuities - Travel Agent: No limitations Are these limitations true? How does one tell the difference between their 3 types of OBC on their Online Invoice? When does the Travel Agent credit appear? On Day 2 of the cruise? I have 2 cabins. If I have 2 shareholder benefits of $50 each, can I use them both together towards 1 $110 Wi-Fi package? Gratuities is going to increase by $1.50/guest/day in April. If one has already booked the cruise but the cruise is in late 2023, are they grandfathered in to the old $14.50 rate? Thank you.
