  1. Based on the replies I think it best we avoid the Comedy Club. We cruise quite a bit, but it's been a long time since we tried it. As best I recall, I think last time we did leave. It's not a matter of being offended, it just sometimes reaches the point that challenges our personal moral values. I totally support the right of anyone to choose this for entertainment as long as it's not being crammed down my throat. (What could the comedian do with that comment? 🙂 ) See, I'm not a total prude. Thanks everyone for the feedback.
  2. My wife and I aren't prudes, but constant cussing just gets to us. They used to tone it way down for the early show. Wondering if that has changed?
  3. Thank you all. Unfortunately we are not D+ so only one free internet day for each of us. Some good points though, so I am going to try going without buying it this trip. I just read that onboard messaging is now free so that will help a bit. Also, I have T-mobile so I get limited cell service when in ports.
  4. We are Diamond and are booked on Harmony April 21, 2024. I have always bought just the basic Surf internet plan for 2 devices, no streaming. I have also always waited to get it onboard because for Diamond it seemed to be less that way. Now when I look online I see only Surf & Stream offered. I have no interest in streaming while on a cruise, I just want email available. The price is $250 which is ridiculous. Am I missing anything?
  5. We cruised on both Oasis and Allure long ago and I'm quite one of them did not have a Hibachi Grill in Izumi at that time. They were both new ships at the time so upgrades likely occurred. I need to dig into my old records to refresh my memory.
  6. Another update: We are booked on Harmony April 21, 2024. I now know there is a Teppanyaki Grill. 🙂
  7. We arrive 2 days before our April 21, 2024 cruise on Harmony and will be leaving 2 days after disembarking. I was planning on using one-way rental cars, but none of the agencies are open in Galveston on Sundays so I can't drop off or pick up when disembarking. Also, they close at Noon on Saturdays. 🙄 Now I'm looking at shuttles or Uber. 40 miles is quite a haul for an Uber. Has anyone done it that way? What did it cost? I called https://galvestonlimo.com/airport-shuttle/ They said they will drop us at our hotel in Galveston. Can anyone offer thoughts on how that would work out? Price seems very reasonable. Thanks all.
  8. We're looking at a cruise out of Galveston on Harmony. We've been on Oasis and Allure several times, one had Teppanyaki the other didn't. I don't remember which. Also, how does Harmony compare to its older siblings? Pretty much the same? Thanks for feedback that will help us decide.
  9. A month ago we sailed on the Apex and loved everything about that beautiful ship. One thing that surprised us was the lack of requirement, or even encouragement, for guests entering the Oceanview Cafe Buffet to use the handwash station. When my wife, and I, were properly washing our hands we repeatedly observed people walking right by the wash station, and even the sanitizer dispenser. I estimate that 9 out of 10 did not wash, or sanitize. We ate breakfast there every morning and several dinners. This occurred every time. There were attendants at both entrances who never once said a word as people walked by. On our last cruise on the RCCL Quantum in May that would not have happened. We are sharing the same utensils in the buffet, washing is the best way to minimize the transmission of unwanted pathogens.
  10. The second one says "FROM $219" . It would seem even when they say "From" there should be an option available for that price. $219 was the only option offered.
  11. It showed $119 on Celebrity's Website for a 7-Day Thermal Suite Pass, while logged onto my account. See attachments. When selected it suddenly became $219 per person. I would have spent $238 for my wife and myself, just for the experience, but not $476. Not worth that much for us. We may use it once or twice. I have read of others spending $199 for a couple, which is what got me looking. Our cruise is Apex Dec 10, 2022. Thanks for any thoughts on this.
  12. Standby worked, we are back on Select Dining. Thanks everyone.
  13. We are booked on the Celebrity Apex this December. We have on-board credit that we would like to use for specialty dining. Is there anyway to book them now and pay with our credit? Thanks.
  14. I'm Diamond on Royal so used to their terminology. First cruise on Celebrity but as Elite. I will try to pickup their vernacular. Thanks everyone. This is a great forum.
  15. I really blew it. I originally booked with MTD Feb, 2022. Just a few days ago I was in my reservation and accidentally changed it to Early Dining. It wouldn't let me change it back. I thought, no big deal I will just call customer service when I get a chance. After trying twice, and getting trainees both times, neither even new what My Time Dining was. Repeatedly I was asked if I wanted Early or Late for my time. I was patient knowing all businesses are suffering from lack of trained help right now. The 3rd one I talked to knew what I was requesting but said it was impossible for her to do. I would have to stay on standby. She did suggest talking to the Dining Team. They close at 3pm Pac Time, so she couldn't transfer me. I have tried several times since and cannot get the Dining Team to answer. Looks like I am stuck with Early Dining. The cruise is almost 6 months away, surely there's a chance I will get elevated from Standby? Any suggestions would be appreciated.
  16. We are booked on Apex Dec 10, 2022. It has 4 main dining rooms, each with its own theme. We would like to try all 4. Can you book them in advance or is it first come first served? Thanks.
  17. Happy to report that Calling Over Wi-Fi worked out. No surprise Carrier charges. The ship's Internet connection was very spotty, but when it worked calls and texts worked too. Just make absolutely sure that your phone is in "Airplane" mode whenever you're on the ship, and your "Call Over Wi-Fi" is turned on. It is very easy to turn off "Airplane" mode when on shore then forget to turn it back on when re-boarding.
  18. I've heard, if I turn off my cellular radio, then turn on Wi-Fi calling, I can can call and text over the internet so long as I have an internet package, which I will. I have done this many times, to avoid roaming charges, but never on an RCCL ship. We are Quantum, May 16, to Alaska. Does anyone have first hand experience with this? Thanks.
