We cancelled our Reserve Cabana mini for next Jan.We rebooked the Vista on Oceania this time doing a PH.We did book a reserve mini on the Majestic for 2026. It has one of the rather odd but larger balconies.Any comments on this type of cabin would be appreciated.

Maybe search under Majestic or start a new thread as this is a Sun-specific thread? 🙂

  3. Mr. Padgett,

As a Princess shareholder, T/A and frequent paying guest on many cruiselines (which is a part of my business), I do find that Princess is doing well to separate herself from the others with the new Sun. Admittedly, the launch was flawed, and there are some kinks to iron out, but I'm optimistic that these can be ironed out, especially as you have delayed the launch of the Star. My guess is that this was done to fix some of the issues that have been noted on the Sun.

I know that things aren't perfect in any business; I don't look at anything as rainbow glitter and hearts and flowers, but an opportunity for improvement. Thinking of the course that Princess is taking, it appears that you are trying to appeal to families while giving more distinction to those who purchase suites as well, which are both good business moves.

Thank you for the forward-thinking and changes on the fly.

Just a regular Jackpot bingo ticket.  You can usually walk in toward the end and skip all the previous games.  Only good on a certain day/time.  In my opinion (I'm not a bingo player), it is worthless.

    It's worthless until you win $4,000... 😄

I'll make sure to look for the pins on my next cruise.  I haven't seen an MDR staff member with a pin in a long time.

They actually wear a completely different suit from the rest of the staff. They aren't wait staff who are also knowledgeable about wine; they are dedicated sommeliers, specific to the task.

  6. When we were on B2B in Australia/Tasmania/Fiji, etc., we had a great group who met up nightly before dinner; the Concierge Host, Darko, made it a great time as well, with themed evenings and drinks. We had about 20 of us who came in at about 5-6 each evening.

I understand that,  I was posting what the email shows and what happens when I press "get your reward" now that it has been over 6 month since I bought the last card.

It honestly never occurred to me I would need more than just the gift card number and PIN in order to use the gift card onboard,

I have always just given the number and PIN, as recently as November 2023, no issues,

Thank you for the reply, I guess my real question is how many cabins might normally in the be in TA hands?

I know every cruise is different,I guess there isn’t an answer.

When princess web site shows sold out , I wonder the amount of cabins that might be returned to princess?

    Any guess high or low?

The ones that TA's have set aside as group space would be returned by/before final payment, but no guess high/low due to the great fluctuation in reservations and actual cabins that get sold for any given cruise versus cabins reserved.

I can reserve a block of 10 cabins for a cruise and they all sell, but the very next cruise, same itinerary, 2 sell so eight go back into inventory. And who knows how many agencies are reserving how many rooms for each...

Pictures were posted on another forum (credit to DSM).  It's open and by invitation only right now.  It seems to require more formal than formal night but other than that it looks fantastic.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I think ALL cabana mini suites have access to the additional private "cabana deck" space, right?  "Reserve" gives you access to the separate restaurant and other vague and unspecified Reserve "amenities."

No, only the Cabana Minis on Deck 9, labeled Reserve.

  11. No, I'm referring to what you may find the next time (if you go again) as a MRS...kind of like "this is why we can't have nice things" because people take it to extremes.total of 43 bottles between us for a 5 night cruise.

Perhaps - but for every one of us there are probably 5 rooms that don't drink anything. TBH I think the regular rooms are probably worse for revenue compared to a regular cruise line - I saw plenty of people not drinking anything except soda. It seems about 10-20% of the ship did about 75% of the drinking.

Which means that taking that many bottles off really puts a hit on the profit margin...it also might help inspire a change in the policy...food for thought.

Just as an update to this we ended up getting a total of 43 bottles between us for a 5 night cruise.

Our RA was totally onboard and ended up restocking us twice a day and moved up to the litre spirit bottles. We have been handing them out like party favours when we go to dinners etc. Those little bottled old fashioned things are great too because they were $15 each and they just hand them over to you at the bar.

No customs / or duties since it was domestic.

At the restaraunts we would use our 2 bottles per night and share with the table next to us and leave the bottle with whoever it was and they always appreciated. No real limits on the number of drinks.

I'm going to say what others may/may not be thinking, but this is the type of thing that makes the MRS suites go up in cost...just a thought.

Reserve Dining is a separate section of the MDR with it's own entrance that is a perk of having a full suite or a Reserve Mini Suite. Only passengers in those cabins have access to this section of the MDR (it's usually just one of the dining rooms that they have sectioned off, but not sure how they have it on the Sun).

On the Sun, Reserve is its own restaurant for Reserve Section cabins. Suites have their own Signature Restaurant as well.
