Any updates on Fantasy's status or possible replacements?

That isn't going to happen anytime soon.

With Sunshine making a few stops in Charleston next year, is that not a precursor to a new ship due to Fantasy's age?

Sunshine is not going to be the permanent replacement. There will be more ship deployment announcements next week.

Did any news come out last week or this?

Any more updates on potential new or additional ships?

I am betting it will be Splendor.

I like that idea. Do have any knowledge, or is it just an opinion?

It is a fragile peace in Charleston, but Fantasy won't be around too long given it's age and rumors of a sale.

Don't know how they could transfer Fantasy to Costa in late 2015 when they are selling cruises until April 2016.

Would they not just transfer those bookings/itineraries to a new ship?

Will Sunshine be the permanent replacement?

Does this Sunshine will replace Fantasy?

Will they expand the limited offerings in the future?

Does anyone know if Fantasy will be getting balconies added like some of her sister ships (ex. Fascination) have?

I would just about take a dingy if it would get me there legally - I followed a Canadian photographers photo blog when he spent 2 months in Cuba a couple years ago .... beautiful country.

It may not be fast enough to save Fantasy to use for the trip, so another ship will still likely be based out of Charleston.

The law has not been changed and won't be changed your years if not more than a decade.

I shared an article yesterday as part of a post regarding a potential ship replacing Fantasy in Charleston, but wanted to post a link to the article in a separate thread as it had more to do with the prospects of Carnival adding one or more ports in Cuba.

Not that I'm looking to debunk my own rumor, but below is an article that states that the Fantasy-class ships are the only current ships in the fleet that could enter Havana harbor if Carnival gets permission to add Cuba to their list of destinations.

I guess I could settle for Havana if I had to take Fantasy again...

We just got off a cruise in Charleston (currently Fantasy), and there was talk of a new ship is the next year or so. Is that just rumor, or is there something to it?
