Any other thoughts about walking around solo? I'm cruising solo, but would prefer to do my own thing. Sounds like the tours are very brief stops at lots of places. I like the idea of the walking tour at my own pace.

I don't suppose anyone has a menu from last year's NYE MDR? Just curious about the special meal. I had been thinking of doing Chops or Giovanni's, but if they do something special in the MDR we will stick to that.
Love hearing everyone's experience!

We are going on the NYE cruise this year and I am looking for info on what to expect on board for the big night. It is embarkation day, so should we plan on bringing formal wear with us in our carry ons? Are there paid events in addition to the balloon drop and bar parties? Will the promenade be so crowded that we should maybe try for looking over from one of the balconies on the ends? So many questions!!! I have done searches for NYE, but not really found much from the Freedom Class ships. TIA

Loved this, but your trip went by too fast! ;) We are on her for NYE and I can't wait.

Here is what Wikipedia has to say about Hell.
"The ironshore karst is a special type, both in terms of its texture and origin. First, texture – it is a black, random spongework of pits, jagged ridges and pointed pinnacles. It is developed in a narrow strip just above the tide line on ancient limestone rocks. If you break off a piece, you will see that the black color is present near the surface and it grades to gray inside. Second, origin – it is being dissolved largely by algae, bacteria and fungi so it is often called "biokarst". These tiny (microscopic) organisms bore into the rock and dissolve the calcite crystals. They are most dense within a centimeter or so at the surface, causing the black color. Why this results in the characteristic macro-texture is not fully understood, but you always see the two elements together so they must be linked somehow. It is clear that proximity to the marine environment is key. Maybe the splash, spray and mist from the waves breaking provide just enough moisture to sustain the algae.
So, when you travel around the Caribbean, look at the rocky shoreline, if it is limestone, biokarst may be well developed. The most famous occurrence is at a place called Hell on Grand Cayman."[7]
Actually, pretty interesting. I'm looking forward to seeing it next week!

Harry,
I would not have guessed English was a second language from your writing. You use slang and colloquial phrases like a pro!
I received a new Canon Powershot SX530 for Christmas. Much to my delight, it has the miniature effect! I can't wait to try it out in one week on the Freedom!

Harry, do you keep a journal or something during your trip? You have an amazing amount of detail and I must know the secret! [emoji57]

Loving this, so far! I'm all over the info on the water taxi. Another note on the water taxi is an after 5pm discount you can get onboard. We will be in town the evening before, so we plan on taking advantage. Can't wait until you are on the boat!

This is exciting! I'm on this itinerary in less than 3 weeks. Your photos are amazing - love the action in the belly flop pic!

I'm afraid to ask, but it looks like no more lobster night? Not that it's as good as it used to be, but still nice to have :-)
It was on the second formal night - listed as fishermans platter on the menu. [emoji4]

Did you happen to notice if there was a chocolate breakfast in the MDR on the this itinerary? I think there was one on the 8 day.
This has been a great live review. I've gotten a lot to be excited about for next month! Thank you!!

I noticed the dress for day 3 is Caribbean - is anyone doing that and how are they doing Caribbean? Looking to see if they have a white night and the 80/s and/or 70's parties, too.
Thank you so much for this! We are impatiently waiting for our Jan. 15 cruise. :)

The chocolate breakfast sounds amazing! Do you know if they have those selections every morning or is it on a specific day? Thanks for doing this, it makes the wait a little easier. [emoji57]

Are you doing any of the speciality restaurants? I would love to know if the filet is still available at Giovani's. There have been reports of yes and no. [emoji57]

Hi,
I've only been on RCCL once before and didn't have a drink package for that cruise. I know the new packages have just come out, but my mom is wondering about mimosas or a Bloody Mary for breakfast in Windjammer. Anyone know if we can get those and if so, on the package? I'm guessing we can't get them delivered with room service on the package.
Thanks!
Shelly

I'm so glad I found your live review! First, congrats on the weight loss. I applaud the dedication that takes. Second, I'm loving your review. Looking at booking the AOS for Jan 2018 while on the FOS in Jan 2017.
I cruise with my mom, too. My husband hates to travel, so I get my travel fixes in with my kids, mom, and/or friends. Can't wait to see what's next. [emoji4]

Your Time dining question
in Carnival Cruise Lines
Posted
I've selected Your Time on a 3 day cruise on Liberty. On RCI, I know you can reserve each night prior to the cruise. Can you do this with Carnival? And if so, where? I'm not seeing it online. TIA
