  1. I look at Carnival a lot now because their prices seem to be quite a bit lower. They're not my favorite line, but I think their product is pretty good. Their cruises are a pretty good buy, and I have had good crews on every ship I've been on, including Carnival (I've sailed with Celebrity, RCL, NCL and Carnival.) I'm taking Carnival to Alaska next June and I'm looking at a 4 day Baja cruise with them this winter. I know I will enjoy my cruises, and if I were you, I'd give them a try.

  2. Thinking about taking a 4 day cruise to Catalina and Ensenada...never been to either place. We're thinking of going the end of January or the first part of February. Both the Imagination and Inspiration go on this itinerary and leave a day apart. We're both retired so the days they leave are not important to us.

My question is, those of you that have sailed these ships, which would you prefer. I have sailed the Fantasy before and know that both these ships are the same size as her. Does one have anything over the other as far as décor being nicer than the other? I realize that crews change, so service and food would change with that, so I know I can't expect answers on these items. But if you had the 2 ships to choose from, which would you choose? Thanks.

  3. Hi,

Sorry if this has been ask before. But I can't seem to find the answer on this thread.

What are your thoughts on the RAMADA at

    7188 WESTMINSTER HIGHWAY

    RICHMOND BC V6X 1A1

    Thank you,

    Maria

We stayed there for one night following our cruise in September 2003. The price was great and I liked the free shuttle to the airport. There we lots of places to eat nearby (easy walking distance). The room was quite clean and I thought it was comfortable enough. They had a small continental breakfast in the morning. Another treat was a beautiful park right behind the Ramada that was fantastic for an evening walk before retiring. I think it was called Moreau park or something like that.

  4. for my daughter and her fiance is in order. I have looked at all the stuff concerning Jamaica and think maybe it's worth the extra money to do this excursion thru Carnival for them. They are both young and eventhough it would be half as much just to go to the Sunset Beach Resort, I think I will splurge on them at this port. I think they will be better off on their own in Coz and Grand Cayman.

All the talk about certain cabs and getting stampeded by locals once you leave the ship, I think this port is the one I will buy them an excursion. Rose Hall Beach Resort looks like it would be alot of fun too. Jamaica appears to be a gorgeous island and I want them to enjoy it and be safe.:D

  5. My daughter's fiance loves burgers, prime rib and beef steaks (no sauces). He's not a fancy food type of guy. Any suggestions? I heard there is a type of steak that one can order in the dining room any night. Is this true on the Conquest? Does the buffet offer any of the dishes that are served in the dining room each night?

Also, do they have any country music venues on this ship? They both like alot of different music, but they also love to dance to county/western music.

  6. We like the early seating....if you eat at the late seating you won't be hungry fot the midnight buffet....part of the cruise experience.....fun and food!

We chose the late seating on our Celebrity cruise for the main reason of not having to rush back to the ship on port days. That worked out great, and we met two lovely ladies traveling together who shared our table. The only bad thing was we were unable to partake of the Grand Buffet they served late at night. We were just too full from dinner. :( We'll be trying the "Freestyle" dining experience this fall, and I'll see what it's like to not have a scheduled seating time.

  7. ship terminal early. I hope to be there by 10:30 or 11:00 am so that I have time to get settled and look around the ship. Last time we cruised, my husband and I actually ate lunch in a food court near the cruise ship terminal before we got on the ship. Now we know better and realize that they will feed you lunch on embarktion day. Live and learn I guess. Can hardly wait until October!!!!:p
