  1. Completely agree with you jollyjoyce. The Celebrity cabins particularly on S club vessels are very nice but the lack of drawer space is infuriating.

We love Azamara too but our loyalty should not be taken for granted. We have jumped ship and cruise with Holland America next week primarily because Quest is still in the middle of its long charter

On balance I think the changes proposed by Azamara appeal to me but the proof of the pudding is when I experience them in 2016

    Hello Hazel

We are also missing Quest and trying Oceania in two weeks. Let us know how the lines compare. regards Diane

  2. I tried to get luggage labels for our last cruise but was told by Le Club Voyage in Miami that they only supplied sticky labels to UK customers occupying suites.

    Enjoy your cruise.

  3. I doubt a shuttle will be run as Agrigento (the archaeological site) is on the list of tours.

I have been there some years ago and we caught a small local bus to the site and back. However as far as I know it does not run on a Sunday- I am not sure what day you will be there.

  4. I was sorry to hear that Tony had offended some at the unfortunate Meet and Mingle that was described. We have taken 16 cruises with Azamara and met all three CDs and have been impressed by their professionalism, warmth and kindness. Of course they all have different personalities and do not become fake 'cardboard cut outs' but I would not single any one out as best.

We have noticed at times that each has been 'below par' and have attributed it to them maybe having a cold, exhaustion or stress. They are human beings not robots and I hope Tony will be forgiven.

  5. We are struggling to find something in the announcement of benefit for us!

However as we attained the level of Discoverer Plus when the levels were reset which was I believe less than one year ago surely we and others in the same position should be eligible to book a cruise before the 12 months expire, more than 120 days ahead and falling in 2015 and claim the complimentary nights.

    Clarification would be appreciated.

  6. We had grooming scissors with less than 4 inch blades confiscated on the dock at Lisbon and passed to Azamara security who refused to release them until the night before disembarkation. We have always taken them before in our main luggage on many Azamara cruises and they met the current published guidelines.

  7. We went on this evening in April. The transport was well arranged - tender and buses to the nearby venue - a large hotel garden with lemon trees strung with fairy lights. Again a venue that is weather dependent - there was some cover should it rain but luckily it did not. There was plenty of local food and drinks available to which one served oneself. Large tables were provided and I must admit we did not go far from our seats so I can't remember all there was to see. There were horse drawn buggy rides, and traditional dancing but the highlight for us, silly as it may sound was a demonstration of making, throwing and juggling pizza dough to music which was very entertaining.

I hope you enjoy the evening.

  8. Thanks for the info. Our azamazing evening is in Sorrento. We did however go on the original 3 tenors evening on a Presidents cruise when it was held at a castello in the countryside. We had the best table in the room so it was fantastic.

Carry on cruising!, regards Diane and Alan

  9. We too have received our first brochure by post!

Can you let me know the name and contact details of your driver who took you to Lucca from Livorno - we are probably too late as we are sail on Friday but he may be able to recommend someone.

Hope you are well and looking forward to your next cruise. regards Diane

  10. Happy New Year to you all. At present we are keeping our diaries clear in June and July as we may be needed for grandparent duties but will make a note of that cruise. All the best. Diane and Alan

ps We are booked on the Easter Quest cruise and an October one with Journey.

  11. You have done well to get an email from Azamara - despite registering several times and emailing we have yet to receive one. However the offer is on the website with limits to the value of shore excursions for eligible cruises and few equate to $1000 pp or match the value offered by some TA 'packages' if the flights suit - always an issue for us. We are great fans of Azamara and like to take several cruises each year so value is important and getting difficult to find. Good Luck - hope to meet up again with you both.

  12. Have been in several staterooms on deck 4 including 4058, 4051, 4045 and 4056 - all convenient for guest relations, Mosaic, mdr and tenders. No noise issues although tenders may come past the window and gangplank was once adjacent to 4056 with possible loss of some privacy.

6051 standard balcony stateroom (last balcony before lifeboat/tender). We did experience some noise if late night entertainment in Mosaic - however the entertainment has been moved to the Casino Luxe so should no longer be an issue)

7023 standard balcony stateroom - no issues.

8001 standard balcony stateroom (a dubious upgrade) no noise issues but near misses in corridor from adjacent outward opening door from bridge and officer accommodation - nearly flattened by Eric - some might think that a bonus!

8010 standard balcony stateroom (connecting stateroom) no noise issues from adjoining cabin - a very little noise from deck/storage area above on deck party day. Convenient for lift, Looking Glass, Econnections, Spa etc. An armchair instead of sofa but we felt it gave us more room.

6004,6005, 7006,7007 - not used but we understand that these have the benefit of the inside space a balcony would have provided - have booked one of these in the past but were upgraded so never found out - does anyone know if this is the case?

Recently back from excellent cruise on Quest although we are not sure that it still represents the value for money it used to.
