  1. We just got off the Golden Princess. We were on Caribe deck and our beds were the new beds. Our steward said the mini suits on dolphin had also been changed to the new beds. Our topper and bedding was replaced during our cruise. Very comfortable.

Looking at a cruise in Feb for New Zealand and Australia and our last cruise on this particular ship was in 2003 .I appreciate it will not have all the bells and whistles of their new Ships (recently on Royal Princess) but is she still ok and has she been upgraded recently ?

    Hi

Just been on her for 71 days. Everything seems to be in reasonable condition with no major problems. The staff were fantastic and couldn't do enough for you. The ship handled the sea conditions very well with no one complaining of sea sickness.

    Enjoy your cruise.

  3. It varies each year. In general is starts at the end of March and goes on well into April depending on which cities you are visiting. Last year we were in Japan 22 to about 29 March and were about two weeks early. We still were able to view the blossom but not in all ports and not in full flight.

There is a web site that you can lookup the expected flowering dates.

    Hope this helps

  4. Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. No, the leeks are not the chicken and leek pie from the MDR menu. I'd be surprised if there was anything at Share that was also in the MDR. The leeks in this dish were the star. It included eggs and cheese and was kind of gooey. I wouldn't have tried it except that earlier in the week several people were absolutely raving over it. They were right. Now I'm a big fan of properly prepared leeks.

I thought leeks were something you avoided on ships

  5. Thank you all for the replies!

I will ask on the first night. I am mentally prepared (to be strong!) and just do without pasta dishes if that's easier. There are lots of other yummy choices. I'm just one of those people that likes to have everything planned out ahead of time - including what I will be eating.;p

On last year's cruise I did report my serious allergy (chocolate=anaphylactic reaction) on the cruise personaliser but didn't get the help I was expecting from the head waiter. It became easier to just use my own common sense. Will do the same this July.

This gluten avoidance is a new thing for me, but I am feeling so much better for it. Will have to remind myself of that when I say no to the glazed sprinkle donuts at the IC.:loudcry:
