Just off the Zaandam and we were not able to have the sparkling wine changed for anything other than a bottle of water. We don't drink sparkling wine so we accepted. The Neptune Lunge concierge said it is at the discretion of the food and beverage manager on each ship.

Just odd. Never had a question about a swap.  Including twice on the Zaandam in the past year.

  2. Thanks for the write ups!  An add on about Starlink.  So we were on the Zaandam last year for the Panama Canal.  Internet was horrible.  So I prepared for our recent 28 day Amazon on the Z.  Brought a AX router, external WIFI antenna, Network Analyzer program and ran tests.  We were immediately across from the Neptune Lounge. We were able to get some "ok" speeds and connections. BUT, with the door open the connectivity and speed were 5x.  The door is a real signal blocker.   With the router and with the door closed we could stream from the balcony, basically at all times. Not that we needed to do that 😉  No, we did not have the volume on at all...just testing.  In the room, never a problem.

I surely do not want to seem rude or insult anyone, but folks we are talking about $1 a day here. Okay if there are two people in a stateroom it is $2 a day. Neither amount is going to make or break anyone with enough resources to take a cruise. I consider the situation similar to Port Charges. If they go up after booking one pays the additional cost and if they go down HAL refunds the difference.  I'm certainly not going to spend my time, worth far more than $1 a day, worrying about this.

I agree with this, but for us it is $100.00---no big deal either. But when you are told one thing and then it is another.....
