  1. We were on NCL Starward 1981 and stopped in Porta Prince , Haiti.

    It was the most impressionable experience we've ever had in all our travels !

    Years later our son , an orthopedic surgery, then in the Navy, was in Porta Prince volunteering after the earthquake. Our heart goes out to the Haitians and I look forward to going to Labadee !

  2. Cruising two months after 9/11. Our ship had multiple Coast Guard ships alongside in port, along with divers and two choppers overhead. It was eerie...

     

    We were in the dining room having lunch on our Transatlantic cruise ( the middle of the Atlantic Ocean ) when the planes hit the World Trade Center !

    We had to fly home from London afterwards. We were scared to death !!
