I remember when RCI built Oasis. People thought they were crazy. "How will they ever fill that ship every week"? Of course, that was when Freedom of the Seas was considered a mega size ship to most folks.

Found this from the local news in St Thomas, USVI

Thank you Bob. I guess we can enjoy it at least once more. :D

does Liberty of the Seas still have the cigar lounge?

Again, the main temperature control for your cabin is the thermostat, which controls the individual chiller for your cabin. The ship does not pump refrigerant around the ship to cool cabins and public areas, instead the refrigerant chills a fresh water loop system, and this chilled water (around 50*F) is pumped around to the cooling coils. This water is kept at a constant temperature, night or day. Since this is the cooling medium for each individual cabin's chiller coil, there is no "set back" at night. I would doubt seriously (have never seen it) that the fresh air supply temperature is dialed back at night, as there is very little energy savings in letting a huge air volume warm up and then cool it back down, over keeping it at a constant temperature.
Well, so much for that theory! Thanks Chief for explaining better. I knew it was a chiller system, but don't know enough about ship HVAC to do anything but theorize!

Just got off Navigator of the Seas last Friday - balcony room. While the room was nice and cool when we went to sleep, around 2-5 am, we were throwing off the comforter. The next day we requested a blanket and found we slept so much better for the remainder of the cruise. This will now be a part of my Day 1 routine - blanket request! Hope this helps.
I have a theory based on the past couple of years. I think the a/c system is programmed such that it changes to a warmer setting in the early morning hours. Say between 2 and 5 am?
Did not seem to happen until a few years ago.

Our "go to" breakfast spot is Myra Harbor Cafe. Good breakfast at reasonable price. We walk there and back from Hilton Marina.

On Harmony last week. Only got a slip twice all week.
-
Opening the balcony door on Harmony takes quite a bit of effort. You must rotate the handle 180 degrees, and then pull the door open. Both take a surprising amount of strength!

We fly out of Denver tomorrow, and will be joining you at the Hilton. Will keep an eye out for you in the "stinky zone" on Harmony.

Anyone know if a JS is considered a suite for auto tipping purposes, i.e. is it $13.50 or $16.50 for a JS?
Junior suites pay the lower tip rate. They aren't really a suite.

If I board at 12pm and my sea pass is located in the room, access to room is not until 1pm, how do I use my drink package.
Use yor set sail pass.
-
Yes, nice ship. We've only been on Freedom 5 times...😉
-
When you pick up your sea pass card at check in , there may be a dx imprinted on the bottom corner which indicates they have it in their system . Some ships do it , some do not either way it should be in your folio.

The difference is, you don't get your card at check in for Harmony. You get it in your room. Prior to getting your card, you use your set sail pass. Different!:o

As I suspected! Thank you Bob :)

Printed set sail passes and see nothing that identifies drink package. Since we will use the set sail pass for drinks prior to getting cards, how do they know I have a package?
More curious than worried I guess :p

Serious question here, not trying to be a pain. How is Uber "safer" than a taxi?

Cigar emporium on Front Street. Upstairs.

We have purchase cigs at general store every cruise for the past 10 years and never had them held until the last night. Most recently in May on Freedom OTS.

Not sure what year they got booted, but Diamonds used to be allowed in the CL. It was before we made diamond. I know they had CL access in 2007.

I've never seen a menu. They have a small selection available for very high prices. I bring my own and so should you :D
There is no problem bringing your own, most do. There is no charge.

On 12/6 it was clearly listed in the compass " no shorts during evening meal". I did not see anyone wearing shorts on deck 3 of the dining room, but I wasn't particularly looking for them either.
I usually wear Dockers on casual nights.

Have had it done both ways. Recently it seems less common to turn back the time.
