    The plot thickens, lol.

I've heard that they won't begin using the boarding pass zones immediately, but will tell us to ignore that and go by the zone card they give us. Talk about confusion!

I wonder if it depends on the port and/or sail date. I'll check back later and see if it updates I guess.

  2. I always fly in a day or two before. Granted I have to have a layover, which adds travel time. However, I would personally still fly in early with a shorter nonstop flight because delays are always possible. Having that cushion for peace of mind is worth it and you can get a good night's sleep the night before the cruise.

I also book a later flight home. If your ship is delayed coming into port for some reason, you have another cushion. And I can get a decent lunch that isn't airport food. With Port Canaveral, you have to figure in travel time as well of course.

  3. I prefer late dining. I like not having to rush to get ready, especially on later port days. But I also like having the same wait staff, table mates, and table. After the first night, I don't have to wait in a line because my table is in the same place.

I do grab a snack or something in the late afternoon to tide me over until dinner.

  4. It sounds like you already have your flights booked so I do hope all goes well for you.

It would not be my personal choice, regardless of time of year. You can find plenty of horror stories and I don't need to start my vacation with that stress.

  5. First, take a deep breath and relax. It's a vacation. You won't have to cook or clean for a week!

It sounds like most of your food questions have been answered, but it's safe to say that you won't go hungry.

One thing I would recommend bringing is a bigger glass with a lid. The cups on lido are small. Running to get a refill all the time can get annoying, especially if you're doing it for kids too.

Since you're coming in pre-cruise, try to pack everything that you'll need until you get into your cabin separately. That way you don't have to repack a bag because you had to look for a pair of pjs!

  6. I'm not sure how much time you'll have in Cozumel after your excursion so it's hard to say there. Depending on what pier your ship docks at, there should be places to grab something nearby.

In Grand Cayman, we're going to Margaritaville after a diy trip to the beach. Yes, it's touristy. It's also fun and we enjoy it. I need to get a hat anyway so might as well get a drink too.

I enjoy eating in port personally as long as we have time.

  7. Thanks for the Information. His issue with the Sunshine is that even though we have been on the Sunshine four times, before we were always in one of the New 4J cabins on deck 3. ( got spoiled) we both loved those cabins, and I was able to get one for my daughter and her family, They liked it a lot. We, because it is just 2 of us, have never been able to snag one of the new cabins on Deck Five.

As we take them with us on almost all of our cruises, Suites are out of our budget. I am stunned at the prices for obstructed balconies ( which we have had and liked fine) on the Miracle. I have read a lot of reviews on the Miracle, and the ship looking older seems to the only major complaint. We have sailed on Carnival 18 or 19 times. I know we have been on the Legend twice, will have to look up the Miracle. Pretty Much we sail what goes out of Jacksonville, Port Canaveral, and rarely Tampa.

Has he considered showering at the spa? I haven't been in a suite so I can't speak to bathroom size there. But I can tell you that the bathroom isn't any bigger in a balcony cabin.

  8. TV, are you saying there is no Seaside Theater? Gonna miss that and the popcorn. We board in about 2 weeks. Glad to hear the burgers are good on the Lido, fell in love with Guy's Burgers on our last cruise.

If you look at the layout of lido deck on the spirit class ships, there's really no way that they could add the seaside theater.

  9. I dress for dinner. Gowns/cocktail dresses for elegant nights. Cocktail dresses/nice dresses for casual nights. I will be a little more casual the first and last night but still wearing nice sundresses. I enjoy dressing up and cruising is the perfect opportunity.

I'm sure some will be dressed more casually and that's fine. To each their own.

  10. Valid point and agree. I just buy trip insurance for medical as well which is pretty cheap. I see that others are buying trip insurance for trip interruption or cancellation which is what credit cards cover plus other coverage such as lost and delayed baggage. I've also seen people buy full coverage just for medical and not aware that there was less costly medical only options. So just trying to inform so people make an informed and educated decision on what they should buy, and hopefully keep a little extra in their pockets to spend enjoying their trip.

Does that include medical evacuation as well though? As you can tell, I’m a rather safe than sorry type. And I was very grateful to have trip insurance on one particular cruise.
