My husband and I are cruising on the Equinox in February and looking to book Le Petit Chef.  Are they still serving the lobster and filet mignon set menu, or is that a thing of the past? Can anyone post a recent menu?  Thanks!

We have been in LPC on 3 different ships in the last year and, based on our experience, each ship picks which of the 4 shows to offer each night.  I like the original menu the best,  but the graphics and show quality seem to be getting better with each new version.  I think you will need to see what is offered when you board.

I just now checked my Silhouette 13-night November 2024 TA.  I had used OBC for a 10-night package back on Aug 30th during the Labor Day 30% flash sale ($356).  Today, 5-night and unlimited are the only options and cost more.  When I bought the package, unlimited wasn't an option but the nightly combos (1-night thru 13-nights) were.  The flash sale covered packages up through 10 nights so that's what I booked.  Ten weeks later, in November, I had my agent reprice the cruise and lost much of my OBC.  Fortunately, X allowed me to use my credit card to make up the shortage and keep the package.  Whew, because I'm certain I'll never see either that package/price again.

Your description matches our experience last year.  Good to know that Celebrity honored the deal even with the re-price.

Can one buy several of the 3-night (for instance) packages?

Yes, but our experience is that the price is much higher per meal when buying the 3 night package.  We have purchased 8 to 10 night specialty dining packages for around $35 to $40USD (including gratuities) per meal during flash sales in the past.  Most 3 night packages look like they are in the range where it might be best to wait until onboard and check if they are offering any discounts.  At least the ones we see now are that price.

The availability of purchasing specialty dining packages with varying choices of multiple nights is no longer being offered.

We have a 15 night cruise coming up in October 2024 and can only purchase 5 night or unlimited specialty dining package.
I checked this with the Celebrity onshore concierge, who confirmed this was correct.

@Viveash thanks for providing that information.  Not sure I understand Celebrity's reasoning, but now I know what is happening.

I just checked 2 sailings and both have unlimite, the 11N has only 5 night package and the 9N has 4 night packages.  Looks like going forward dining package choices may be a package for about 1/2 the nights or unlimited.

Those options (4 or 5 night) would probably work for us so I will keep checking online.  I may even risk a call to the CC line. Yikes.

Originally our 14 night Canal sailing (Summit, Apr 2024) had dining packages available for every number of nights, e.g. 3, 4, 5, 6,7, 8 etc (something like that).  Back in October, someone on our roll call pointed out that our choices got trimmed down to 3 nights and unlimited.  It's been that way since.

@mahdnc thanks for the information.  I guess I will just have to keep checking online periodically.  Not sure if I want to go "unlimited" but may try it on a ship that has the Lawn Club Grill as the filet mignon is fantastic and I could enjoy that more than once per cruise.

By the way, we followed you on the Solstice and had Faniry as a stateroom attendant.  I concur that she is a wonderful staff member and went out of her way to make sure everything was in order, even with the added cabins she was servicing.

We have 4 cruises (2 B2B) booked for this year.  The X app does not offer dining packages for purchase.  The website for the cruises does offer unlimited and 5 night for the 12 night cruises.  The 9 night cruise on the website offers unlimited and 4 night.  One is Edge and the other Silhouette.

I wonder if I need to use the website from my computer.   Been using my phone version of the website, not the app, and maybe more options show when on the full version.

  8. We have enjoyed the specialty restaurants on many of our Celebrity cruises over the last few years after finding some of the MDR menus to be repetitive.

We have several cruises booked theough 2026 and I don't see the dining packages we used to book, 5-10 nights, available for any of them.  I see an Unlimited Specialty Dining option and a 3 night option, but none of the others.

Did Celebrity announce a fleetwide change that I missed?  Any idea if those options might return?

  9. We are currently on the Eclipse sailing back to Sydney after a fantastic trip around New Zealand.  The ship arrives in Sydney on April 6 and then embarks for the South Pacific.  We received our B2B instructions last evening and there was no mention of a monitored covid test requirement to sail B2B.  We were told that a covid test would be required.  Has anyone heard that this testing requirement has been suspended?

If bus options don't work. Your are probably looking at about $40 for an UberXL TIA to Terminal 6.

We recently disembarked from Constellation in Tampa and reserved an UberXL to take us to the airport a few days before and the charge was $45.  I booked early to make sure that one was available.  However, while waiting for the Uber driver to arrive I checked the Uber and Lyft apps and could have gotten the same ride for around $30 without a reservation.  There were three of us so either way we would prefer the rideshare option over the bus simply for the privacy.  We did watch the bus fill up and leave from the port and it looked like a great option.

  11. I always upgrade my drink package to premium, but our last two Celebrity cruises have provided limited value based on the wine and liquors available.  I tend to gravitate to top shelf margaritas during the day and am happy with Cointreau and either Patron Silver or Don Julio Blanco, the latter is, or was, on the Classic Package list.

I am thinking of saving the $20+ per day upgrade cost this time (Constellation next week) and just pay for anything over Classic Package.

Anyone know what the cost is to add Cointreau to a drink with the Classic Package?

I learn so much from CC and hope someone can answer this for me.  Thanks.

Your first mistake is calling and not getting something in writing. Mine and many others here, experiences with calling and talking with Celebrity reps is they mostly are wrong in the information they tell you. Unless you have it in writing it is not true or a policy. Prior to Covid we sailed in Concierge and never was there an expanded room service menu for breakfast or other meals that was different than the standard RS menu. See my post #116 to see the actual amenities as currently listed on the Celebrity website for Concierge class bookings. The ONLY reference to room service is "24 Hour room service" with a note at the bottom that it has a $9.95 delivery fee. As I have said before Celebrity is consistent with being inconsistent.

After a couple of cruises in Concierge we decided it was a joke and not worth paying more than a veranda and getting nothing of real value, so we then switched to booking Aqua Class.  After Covid we decided to only cruise in suites, but Celebrity is very quickly pricing us out of the suites.

All you have to do is ask for the enhanced RS menu and they bring those to your Concierge cabin.  I've been doing this for several years when the room steward conveniently forgets to put the correct RS menu in the room.

  13. We are on a September 11-night Eclipse cruise to Alaska.  I noticed recently that the 3, 4, 5, and 6 night specialty dining packages are no longer available in the cruise planner on the website.  In the past, I have always booked a 4-6 night specialty dining package either pre-cruise or as soon as I board the ship.    I called Celebrity today and, after a long wait, was told that 11-night cruises will no longer have any specialty dining packages of less than 7 nights.  He also said this was a system wide change.  I checked my other 11+ night cruises and still see dining packages from 3 nights and up available.  Has anyone else heard this from Celebrity?  Is it possible those smaller packages are simply sold out on my upcoming Alaska cruise?  If so, wondering if they would open up more packages on embarkation day.  Any input would be greatly appreciated.

  14. We will be on the Infinity in October on a Panama Canal cruise and have a question about Qsine and Le Petite Chef options.

We usually dine in the specialty restaurants for several meals and have enjoyed both options.  I read where two variations of LPC is offered in Qsine on some nights.  Are there other nights where the menu is still the standard Qsine one?  If so, any way of knowing which nights that might be?

    Thanks for your help.

  15. We are booked on a Mediterranean cruise on the Constellation next month with a purchased 7 night specialty dinner package. I noticed that the online Cruise Planner has an option to reserve specialty restaurants, but when I go in and start making reservations it appears as though the Celebrity website is charging for each dinner instead of using my pre-paid package. Has anyone used this online option to book specialty dinners covered by a package? Any insight would be much appreciated.

  16. I would like advice on best excursions for these. We have never been to these islands before. We live beach time and snorkeling, but I also like to get to know the area. We do not like sitting on tour buses for hours. Your thoughts would be helpful

H2O Visions Bonaire is a great guided snorkeling tour in Bonaire. We used them last November and it was the best snorkeling tour we have taken. Small groups and a friendly, knowledgeable guide. Pick you up right at the port exit.

  17. I am traveling on the Solstice in January 22 (12 days) out of Sydney, Australia. I logged on to the Celebrity Cruise Planner today and noticed that they are offering 20% discounts off the Unlimited Internet Package. The quoted price is $239 USD.

We are Captain's Club Select Tier, which is offered a 25% discount on the same package. My question is what is the regular price for this package on a 12 night cruise? I am trying to determine if it is better to go with the CC discount or the two discounts are somehow added together.

    Thanks,

    Douglas

  18. Our recent experience matches Hank's. We booked a Scandinavia, Russia cruise while on Equinox this past January. When we got home and priced the same cruise at several of our favored TAs we found that we could save over $500 by booking through a TA as compared to the onboard booking that included $200 of additional OBC. We even asked the TAs if they would add the onboard credit to the lower price and was told that was not possible.
