I have used this email a few times and have found them to be very responsive.  It sometimes takes a few days depending on the number of questions you have.  Be sure to include all relevant information concerning your booked cruise such as booking number, dates, etc.  Good luck!

  2. I am the OP.  Today I received a full refund for my 1/23/2022 Breakaway cruise.  I had canceled under the Peace of Mind policy one week before NCL canceled the cruise.  I was immediately given FCC for the cruise, but I applied to have the FCC converted to a cash refund because NCL ended up cancelling the cruise .  Today I received a full refund for what I paid minus the $250 I paid for a cruise First certificate.  That certificate shows in my account as a $500 credit good through 11/17/2024.  Yes, it took from January 17 when I applied for the cash refund until today to receive it, about 10 weeks, but I am satisfied with the result and think NCL did a good job following through.  Now looking to book for Thanksgiving.

  3. Just booked the offer for 10 day Alaska from San Francisco August 28.  $500 free play, Princess Plus, balcony stateroom.  Agent told me she thought I would choose the suit option onboard.  We'll see. I hope to get an email like gerig said.  I prefer to have it done ahead of time.  I think I like the "diamond" package.  Lots of offers from Princess but this is the best free play offer I've had.

  4. I found one in my account also but with only $500 casino credit.  Must book by 4/28/22 and sail by 10/2022.  No other info available and I haven't received any email or snail mail about it.  Hope I can take advantage of it.  Hope it includes Princess Plus.  Hope it's some place we want to cruise to, although that includes every place Princess cruises to.

Already have booked Alaska, Hawaii and southern Caribbean. Offers have been prolific the last few months.  I've only sailed with Princess once, on a comped cruise from a land casino, and lost less than $1000 total on that cruise.  Has paid for itself several times over.

  5. I am the OP and am happy to report that I filed my case submission form on 1/15/2022 and received "preliminary approval" of my refund to original form of payment today, February 17. The email said I should receive the refund within 90 days of original submission date.  It took just over a month to receive a reply, but I am sure they have been swamped and I am satisfied with the response.  I will update when I receive the refund.

  6. On January 3, 2022, I canceled the Breakaway cruise scheduled for January 23, 2022, due to concerns my husband and I had regarding the virus.  We were issued full FCC under the Peace of Mind policy.  Under the "refund and cancellation policy for Covid-19" found on the NCL website I found this:

    • If your cruise is cancelled by Norwegian or boarding is delayed by twenty-four (24) hours or more due to government order or declaration of Public Health Emergency, you are entitled to a refund of the amount paid to Norwegian within 180 days, or an optional Future Cruise Credit (“FCC”). This policy also applies if you already cancelled the same cruise within 60 days prior to the scheduled sailing date.

Doesn't the last line appear to allow me to get a refund rather than FCC?  Isn't it my choice?

  7. I canceled our 1/23/2022 Breakaway cruise on January 3 using the Peace of Mind policy.  Today I received notification of my full FCC plus CruiseFirst certificate being in my account.  The email states the FCC is good for one year from the date of issue, which I assume is today, and is applicable to "all published sailings through May 31, 2023."  This is different than I expected.  Better, but different.  Is everyone else getting the same info?

  8. I am getting great casino offers nearly weekly.  Most include Princess Plus which we find enticing.  Cabins offered vary offer to offer.  Each offer is for a minimum of three cruises each.  Wish we had more time and a much bigger bankroll.  We do appreciate the offers.  Have booked one Caribbean cruise and one 15 day Hawaii cruise.  Looking forward to both.  We have only sailed with Princess once so have been pleasantly surprised.  We are Platinum on NCL and haven't had any casino offers from them.  Disappointing.

  9. I was very surprised!  I requested full refund for Thanksgiving week cruise on Liberty of the Seas sailing from Galveston.  I requested the refund on October 6 - I believe that was the day Royal extended no sail order until the end of November.  Much to my surprise, my money was deposited back to my bank on Thursday, October 16.  10 day turn around.  I hope that was true for everyone. They have had to do so many refunds maybe they are getting really good at it.  We are not ready to rebook anything at this time.  Maybe 2022.

  10. Canceled my March 16th cruise on March 10th, just before RC shut down all cruises.  I called yesterday to check status of my refund of port fees, taxes and prepaid gratuities.  This cruise was comped through the casino department so that was all I had to pay.  They put me on hold.  Came back and said my refund was in process and should be arriving in the next few days.  I am sure they are overwhelmed, but the rep was very cordial, helpful and I felt, very sincere.  Just a timeline of my request and where it stands now. I will update when I receive my refund.  Have an August cruise booked and hope it goes as planned.  Good luck to everyone.

  11. On hold with Royal right now to cancel our March 16-20 Enchantment of the Seas sailing from Galveston booked through URComped.  My daughter and I had just talked this afternoon and decided we would go. She teaches and this is her spring break.   We really are not too concerned about contracting the virus.  But she received an email from her employer, a public school district here in TX, after she arrived home this afternoon stating that anyone traveling to China, Iran, Italy, South Korea or Japan, or other countries added to the CDC list, OR traveled via cruise line, must stay home for 14 days after returning.  That pretty much sealed the deal for us.  Any cruise line, any place, with sick people or not.  Sounds a little drastic to me.  On the bright side, Vegas air is only $100 RT from Dallas at this late date for next Monday, and I can get comped rooms and free play and resort credit!  Planes look about half full.  Looking forward to sailing on Liberty of the Seas in August with my husband.  Hope things calm down by then.  Good luck, everyone!

  12. Yes, it does, but you must pay up front upon debarkation and submit the bills to your insurance.  We had first hand experience with this a few months back.  We had to file first with Medicare, then Medicare supplemental, then NCL insurance.  I found the NCL insurance through AON the easiest and fasted to deal with.  Medicare and the supplemental plan not so much.  Took months to get their denials.  Keep all receipts.

  13. Yes, NCL insurance will reimburse you for the days missed, as well as port fees and taxes for those days and any prepaid gratuities.  Again, everything must funnel through Medicare as your primary, if applicable, then any secondary insurance, then NCL Travel Protection.  They can only reimburse after everyone else has done their part.  I found NCL to be very considerate and helpful when being evacuated from the ship.  Their insurance did everything I would have expected them to do.  Reimbursement for missed days and other NCL related expenses will be paid promptly because they have all those records.  I didn't have to furnish any other paperwork for that part.  Be sure to keep receipts for everything you can even though it is such a difficult time.  Glad he is doing fine and home.

  14. We can relate to this situation.  My husband was diagnosed with pneumonia when we were on the Dawn last March.  We were forced to leave the ship in Roatan and then airlifted to San Pedro Sula in Honduras.  After five days in ICU there, we were sent to Florida by air ambulance.  We had NCL insurance.  I contacted them and they made all arrangements and paid for the transfer to Florida where he was admitted to the hospital in Broward County.  They charged $22,000 and the insurance coverage was $25,000, so not much to spare.  We did not have to put any money upfront.  The hospital was a different story.  Had to pay a $4000 deposit, then submitted bills to NCL, Medicare and Blue Cross Medicare supplemental policies.  Had to wait for Medicare denial, then Blue Cross paid some to the hospital,  NCL reimbursed us for the $4000 deposit and the $5500 cruise ship infirmary bill.  I found AON insurance, which handles NCL claims, to be very reasonable  to deal with and knew exactly what they needed.  Medicare was the hang up because they took so long to deny the claim.  Unfortunately the NCL insurance is only for $10,000 medical, but the air ambulance coverage was such a relief.  We will continue to buy NCL insurance, but we also add a policy with $100,000 medical and $500,00 evacuation.  Hope your parents return home soon and safely.  Good luck!
