Yes, then after the George Smith incident on Brilliance, the rules changed to no alcohol to be brought on board. This was the policy for a while.
mPlease enlighten us with the details of that incident. 🥸

Avoid Voyager. Set up for Chinese cruises and no video poker.
On Liberty they have around 6 Superstar machines. Single line quarter Jacks or better actually pays double for two pair. Unusual on cruise ships.
For single line JoB, where you get hammered is on the Full House/Flush payout. On a cruise ship, anything lower than 8/5 makes it unplayable and 6/5 is very common. I've never seen even pay for two pair in a JoB game anywhere.

The only socket in my cabin on Oasis was quite a distance from the bed which I found annoying.
There's an outlet under the head of the bed near the phone. Follow the phone cord to where it's plugged in.

Which nights are "formal" nights on Oasis 6nt Western and Oasis 8nt Southern?

As to tanks tops on men versus women - Pit Hair. 🙂
Not only pit hair but hairy back, upper arms and shoulders. Too much is exposed.

A few days ago, we changed our upcoming June B2B aboard Adventure to Oasis B2B in 2025. Accordingly, all my Adventure research for the past year or so has now been thrown overboard in favor of Oasis. Having sailed aboard Allure, I am very familiar with almost everything I expect to experience aboard Oasis. However, I do have 2 specific questions about my cabin (basic spacious balcony):
1. Looking at assorted YouTube videos, it appears that the safe is quite small, perhaps too small for a 15" laptop, but will an iPad Air fit inside?
2. I saw one video which showed an electrical outlet under the head of the bed located next to where the phone is plugged in. Confirmation that this is common?
Thanks and happy sailing, everyone. -
We have never been to Coco Cay and wanted to try the Beach Club at least once. With that in mind, the cheapest price for our visits on our B2B cruises was $149 pp, I know it's out of line compared to "the good ol' days", but we don't plan on doing it ever again, so it's worth it to us.

You do not bank it on the card. You play $260 and then cash out. You will have a voucher for $240. You take the voucher to the cashier and get your $240 in cash. You can then repeat that within an hour or whenever you want. But you must cash out from the machine, some players are not aware that on Royal the machine does not automatically cash you out.
Great to know this. I assumed the card (like a gift card) would somehow retain the balance. Thanks for the response.

On the ship on day three claim that you had a death in the family and you would like to disembark in Cozumel.
Are you serious, Clark?

Following up with this topic: On the first day in the casino, I charge $500 to my room and play out $260 (over 50%). I assume the remaining $240 carries over on my card. Can I repeat the same "charge $500, play out $260" and bank another $240 on the card the next casino day?

Just an FYI, the balloon is not there right now. I was there last week and noticed the balloon was gone. I thought RCI finally came to their senses since the balloon rarely goes up due to wind on the island. But I was told the balloon was being repaired and would be back in January.I just checked my B2B in June and both weeks have the overpriced balloon offer.

Whenever we have sailed from Florida we have seen bare feet, bare chests, bikini’s and pyjamas in the MDR.
This was on a RCI ships on multiple sailings? Seems like that of all these sightings, only the folks in pajamas would be seated and even that would be borderline.

Can the person who has the refreshment package get more than one beverage at a time or is he/she limited to only one? For instance, if my husband's name is on the refreshment package, can he get two bottles of water at a time or does he have to get one bottle then go back for the other? If it's unlimited items, I would think it would be fine for just one person to purchase the package.

We had 8534, almost directly across on the opposite side. Excellent location. Happy sailing.

Interesting how the price varies. I'm on Oasis end of February and early March, and the price was $61.99per person. On Wonder at the end of March, it's $51.98. I would have expected Wonder sailing to be higher than oasis since it seems they charge more on Coco cay for everything on the newer ships.
B2B next June: an hour ago, each week was $39.99. Now it's $70.99

For me, it appears that the $31 coffee card is the cheapest planner purchase.

I have a system for checking out towels:
- I check them out on the first day, and I don't return for the length of the cruise.
- Instead, I "exchange for fresh" as often as I want.
- Two reasons: Every time you check out /return, your number goes in /out of the system. Every time you do that, the possibility of human error exists. When you "exchange", you don't create a record. Also, this means you always have clean towels in your room, so if you want to go to the hot tub early in the morning or late at night (when the towel station is closed), you have towels.
- The negative is that you have to remember to bring your towels with you.
- I return the towels on the last day and make sure-sure they're logged in.
How this works on Coco Cay:
- I don't know for sure where the towel is on Coco Cay, and I'd rather head straight for my lounger, so I like bringing my own already-checked-out towels from the ship.
- IF I see a towel station on the way back, I'll "exchange" my towels for fresh, so I'm carrying lighter, dry towels.
How many towels can 1 person check out that first time? You keep saying "towels".

Lol my husband doesn’t know any of our kids’ numbers, I’m the only one in our family of 7 who knows everyone’s phone numbers. Our kids knew ours before having phones, but I doubt they still remember.
Have your husband install a Contacts app to keep track of phone numbers. No need to memorize any at all.

Yes, I asked my steward twice (on two different sailings) if it would be possible to have my room cleaned around 5pm when we were at dinner and she was like "Of course!" I also told her if too many people were requesting that time, we could just work out another agreed-upon time that I would know to be out of my room so she could clean but she was like "oh over dinnertime is perfect" It was always done whenever we came back after dinner.
Thanks for the quick reply and for getting this thread back on the rails. I hope we get a steward as good as you had. (Cruising next June on our first B2B.)

I just tell them what I would like at the beginning of the week and they make it happen... prefer to have my room cleaned in the evening if possible,
Were you specific with your request, as in "5:30 because we will be at dinner"?

I haven't sailed with either cruise line (C or P) so I was interested in the OP providing a useful and practical comparison of the 2 lines.
Wine glasses? I was hoping for soup spoons. -

I read too, though not necessarily in the library. I read where I can see the ocean when I can. Or the aft.
Over the years, I never brought along my own books (took up premium space in the suitcase) and relied on those already in the ship's library. Slim pickings at best. Now, I have books on my iPad... subjects I want. Very convenient to carry my personal library all over the ship and find a comfortable location.

Celebrity Newbie with MDR questions
in Celebrity Cruises
Posted
(Randomly selected the Beyond as a sample for a Celebrity cruise.)
The web page states this: "With Celebrity Select Dining you can choose early seating at 6:00 P.M., late seating at 8:30 P.M., or dine whenever you want. You’ll be assigned one of the four main restaurants, while having the option to dine in the other three upon request and availability."
My questions: Is the "assigned" restaurant their choice or yours? Is it a common situation where the option to dine elsewhere upon request isn't possible and you end up in the original restaurant more times than you'd like?
