  1. I did a short 3 night cruise and they had a soft drink pack for $7 per day.

I have also heard of a package for $49 for the duration of the cruise, I would expect that to be 5-10 night

and I also found this: “Premium Beverage” package is priced at AU$69 per adult per day during the trial period and includes wine, beer and spirits, plus bottled water, soft drinks, coffee and tea.

Hope that helps, P&O Australia have only just started to do drink packages so I guess the prices may be different on your cruise.

    Have a great Trip

  2. Thanks for your reply's

I guess with the extra dining options, and pool in Oasis and being "new" to P&O I automatically assumed they were bigger.

Sounds more Like they are tying to have a few fancier ships for the More Adult / Mature audience.

I will make sure to check out the Kids clubs when I am on board as I have been considering the Aria for New Zealand late next year for a family trip.

  3. I was just looking over the details for the new P & O ships and noticed that the Capacity was only 1500 guests. Even the Jewel which Is the smallest of the P&O that I have been on can take 1950 people.

So does this mean the rooms may be slightly larger, or an I imagining a bigger ship and going o be let down when it's the same size as the Jewel?

I am booked on the Eden for the Comedy Cruise 4 Dec.

  4. I was on the Jewel in April and Just did a 2 night in August.

I really liked the Pantry, there was more variety per food style, and it looked so much more appealing when no-one has scooped the middle of the bread and butter pudding out and left the crusty edges.

for example the Indian had 2 varieties of rice and 3 variety's of topping. then there was also Nann Bread, and Papa dams, and also 4 different dressings to complete the order.

At breakfast time the Mexican area was turned into a pancake place, they had plan and sultana pancakes, then a variety of toppings, maple syrup, jams and fruit.

It was a nice change to not have a heard of people milling around with Trays, that was an improvement, and they never ran out of hot tea / coffee. Back in April the coffee machines had kept stopping because they could not heat up fast enough.

There is also a nice area where you can order a paid for cuppa chino, and alcoholic drinks. so if you want a real coffee with breakfast you don't need to go to the cafe first.

The main negative I had was the tables, I did not like all the high stool's and strange heights that some tables have. as the "normal" tables filled up very fast at peak times.

  5. No it was not crowded, they said there was only a certain amount of passes. most of the time I was lucky to see 3 -4 people in the whole complex. But later in the day you were lucky to see anyone.

It's open till 8pm and a few times I went later at 7pm and had the place to myself.

  6. I found that the first time I used it my hair was a little heavy, but after a few days it settled, I also put it down to the combination of Water / Shampoo / Conditioner

However I always Like to take a small bottle of my Conditioner from home as backup. You could use a small juice bottle.

Or purchase a small Conditioner from the Big W travel range.

  7. I Have been on Both

I would recommend the Dawn over the Jewel

The kids club on Dawn is larger and in the middle of the ship near the atrium.

On the Jewel it is right up the top of the ship, and when you are picking kids up late at night 8-9pm and have to take them out on the windy deck and down steps my kids were wide awake by the time we go back to the cabins.

The Edge activities are for older kids, my 6yr old only did the trampoline jumping. I just paid for this 1 activity rather than get her a pass for the week.

In regards to food, Both ships do a "kids dinner" at 4.30 up in Plantations, with coloring in pages, drink and dessert, we even had the kids mascots show up for photo opportunities.
