  1. Go to the MDR for dinner it is included, also you can order multiple apps, entrees, and desserts included as well. I didn’t realize this the first cruise I had so it’s a good time to venture out and try new food. They also have Breakfast in the MDR.

Take some time to walk around the ship and get familiar with the layout some floors don’t go all the way through and it takes some time to get familiar. You can get around using the stairs much faster than the elevators.

Go to the comedy shows they are almost always great. As mentioned the adult shows do have foul language and adult content so if that is offending or you’re taking children opt for the family shows.

I haven’t been on the Glory but search on Carnival‘s website to see what dining options they have. If they have the pasta or barbecue place go there for lunch when you embark as many people don’t realize that is there and included in the price for lunch. It will be far less busy than guys or the buffet.

I hope you have a fabulous time!

  2. My daughter has several rompers that are dresser than many t shirts I see people in or maxi dresses for that matter.

I personally see clothes all the time I think are cute but feel it is too youthful for me [emoji16] my daughter usually thinks I’m crazy with that comment. BTW I’m 41. Although I never think that about anyone else’s clothes. I think if you feel comfortable and it doesn’t break dress code wear whatever you want regardless of size or age.

  3. really? how many male hosts do you see at chain restaurants, none. Many years ago when I was managing for Olive Garden, our training in Orlando, there was a class on hiring indiscriminately. The first impression at the door is very important to corporate.

If this is directed to me, yes really. Where I’m located in the Midwest actually I see that fairly often.

I’m willing to bet those thinking only hiring one gender would feel differently if that negatively affected them or their loved ones. When they are in the non hire bucket for something they cannot control like gender, race, or age bet it is a different song and dance...

As one has already eluded this is about cruising so I’m done on this topic. I’m not going to convince sexist thinkers to change for those that applies to.

  4. Wait a minute you do not hire boys to serve? Now that's down right discriminating. Just kidding of course. If you had all male servers these same posters ripping you for hiring female servers would be the same ones ripping you for not hiring female workers. I think I know who they voted for and lost.:halo::halo::halo:;)

This is hysterical, no really [emoji23] You think you know me and who I voted for based on one comment? BTW you would be wrong. I can’t imagine who would have to be the opponent that would cause me to vote for her. Like I said I’m usually not caught off my these type statements.

What is funny is that you think hiring based on gender isn’t discrimination. Wow that is exactly the case. Obviously people who have a problem with hiring only females would also have problem if only hiring males. Why wouldn’t they? Discrimination is discrimination regardless of what gender, age, or other protected status.

Have a problem with how you toast is served, but not discrimination??? Yea I’m the one being unreasonable (sarcasm) [emoji56]

  5. Yes, the "girls" Colorado is a right to work state. There is a fancy steakhouse in my town that only employs waiters. I have had a few male servers, but mostly girls.

How can you eat eggs over medium without toast? What do you do with the yoke? :D:D

    Disappointing...

  6. "I rarely have toast at any restaurant onshore for the same reason!"

As a restaurant owner this is just not true, especially my restaurant. The girls can not put the toast in the toaster until the eggs are ready. You always get hot, buttered toast.

The girls? I’m not usually caught off guard but this one did it. I hope you’re not the type of employer I’m currently picturing....

  7. After sailing the last few trips on NCL, I finally did a 7 day on the Carnival Dream last July. My big disappointment was no lobster night but that is the same deal on NCL. However, the addition of Guys Burgers and the Pig and Anchor was a nice perk. Carnival seems to have more free food choices then the other lines.

I miss the tablecloths although some people do not. The table cloths make me feel like I'm at a really nice restaurant and not a coffee shop. I don't miss the mints on the pillows and I didn't notice that our cabin was only cleaned once a day.

Overall, I think that the cruise lines (Carnival, NCL, RCCL) are more similar then different. They all know what the other ones are doing and eventually its monkey see monkey do.

I think you are mistaken about no Lobster night or that it was 7 days. I’ve done several 7 night cruises on Carnival and each one has always had a lobster night. Even on the Dream in 2016.

  8. You don't wonder how someone could have emailed him when there is no contact info? Good fiction takes some plausibility for it to work properly.

No, because comedy doesn’t have to be based on true events. Still love the last two statements. If you don’t find that funny I don’t get that.

  9. Please, let's not be silly, ok? We ALL know what a chair hog is. We are not talking about normal usage of a chair at a pool. Go in the hot tub, grab a quick bite to eat, go in the pool, read a book, take a nap... Once you are actually using the chair, it is NOT the problem. The problem is simple. Self-centered passengers who think they can reserve a chair ALL DAY because they woke up early and put a towel on it. I got an email from a real jerk who told me that if I snooze, I lose. He said that if HE is willing to wake up at 6 am, then he deserves the chair and I DON'T. There is no argument. I thanked him for saving me a chair because when I am ready to go to the pool, I will sit in "his" chair and read "his" book. I suggested some snacks and maybe a glass of wine.

    [emoji23][emoji23] THIS is great!

  10. How old is your daughter? The catamaran sail trips to Nevis all offer unlimited drinks, and while certainly not drunken frat parties, I personally would not take a little kid.

The boat is moving, people are dancing, rum is flowing...you get the picture.

She’s 21 so I’m sure she would love it, that Pinney’s beach is from that excursion [emoji846] Thanks for the warning tho.

  11. Looking at Carnival beach excursions, appears these are the 2 available. Which is better and why? I do enjoy snorkeling but a beautiful view and pretty water will suffice. I would really be interested in the black sand beach...can you walk to it from either of these locations?

  12. And, of course, there are certain people who will argue and use any excuse not to believe published statistics no matter how valid, no matter how factual, no matter how much proof is submitted to support them. We seem to live in an era where so many people instantly disqualify any facts if they don't support their personal beliefs. I guess I am "old school". I don't instantly assume anything I read from accredited sources, such as the CDC, is somehow incorrect, or based on skewed bias, or deliberately false to promote some nefarious agenda. Call me naive, but I chose to live in a world where trust still exists.

Again if you want to use stats you don’t pick one year, almost a decade old to boot, and only a small range of ages. Personally I’m typically fact driven, just have a acquire all the pertinent information before drawing a conclusion and deeming it fact.

For example, if I were to pull divorce stats from my grandparents era I bet young marriages had very good stats. That doesn’t mean that is getting married at 20 is the answer for all either.

  13. No, it divorce is not exclusive to young age. But it is more prevalent for people who marry under 25. According to this source, half of all divorces are marriages under 25 years of age. In comparison, 25 to 35 it's about half of that. And even less for those who marry over 35.

So, yes, statistics show that marrying young results in more divorces than waiting to marry. It isn't baseless opinion, or being judgmental, as some would like to imply, but actual, statistical facts. "Just a thought".

According to the CDC, in 2011, the divorce rates by age group and gender were:

    •
    • 27.6% of women aged 19 or younger

    • 11.7% of men aged 19 or younger

    • 36.6% of women aged 20-24

    • 38.8% of men aged 20-24

But at 25, something dramatic happens. Statistics show that the divorce rates plummet by nearly half for both genders:

    •
    • 16.4% of women aged 25-29 (compared with 36.6% for the average 24-year-old woman)

    • 22.3% of men aged 25-29 (compared with 38.8% for the average 24-year-old man)

    (source: http://maselliwarren.com/2014/03/20/divorce-rates-increase-youre-25/)

Mary, I’m sure you know that stats can be found online to support any side of any issue. If I were to use stats I think I’d look at more than one year, and if I were to choose one year it probably would not be from 7years ago. [emoji15][emoji16] What about over 29, maybe the “old” people have worst stats of all.

For arguments sake let us suppose it was factual that failed marriage could likely be avoided by not marrying young (thank God I’m typing this and not having to speak it without laughter) it would still be unkind, rude, and unnecessary for a complete stranger to offer their unsolicited advice on if someone they know little to nothing about is ready for marriage. Do you go up to young married couples in public and warn them their marriage is likely doomed bc of their age? I hope not, so we shouldn’t do it hiding behind fake names and a computer screen either.
