  1. The Apple TV is the connecting device from your iPad to TV.

On the Eclipse the TV's in the cabins have all the input connections blocked off.I have tried to us our Video camera to watch what we have filmed and found there is no connections available unlike other TV's.I expect it is designed to stop people from trying to re tune the TV.

  2. Malaga provides a shuttle bus from the Port Authority at a couple of Euros return ,cannot remember how much but certainly not expensive .Gibraltar and Genoa ,just get off and walk all easy ( unless dissabled of course )

  3. Unfortunately we are on one of the cruises offered having paid full price!

But at least we had our cabin choice and a drinks package.

There have been lots of balcony cabins available, insides went quickly as they weren't part of the 1-2-3 go package, so people booked these at the cheaper rate.

Yesterday was the final date to pay, so Celebrity know exactly how many cabins they have available.

We are booked on the Eclipse for 14 nights Sept 13th this year Canaries cruise in a Conceirge cabin deck 10 and booked it with the 123 go promotion at £1770 each.Today, amazingly it is £2993 each and I am not sure if there is a drinks package availbale.Crazy prices surely no will book remaining cabins at that price.

  4. First thing we do when getting into the cabin is ask the attendent to remove all the drinks from the fridge. We then just stock up with cans, water and milk etc as we go along.

As far as a pool is concerned ,never use them on a ship certainly they never entice us to book a ship just because of a pool.

  5. Going back a few years the CC Cocktail hour used to be in the Michaels Club then it got a bit busy and transfered to the Sky Lounge.

Now with so many Elite etc CC members ,vouchers are given in lieu, if there are too many on board.

Like many we have been given the free beverage package on the last two cruises and again later this year so dont think we will bother to be entertained by the push and shove.

  6. On a 14 night cruise there usually is 3 formal nights. Celebrity only pay lip service to the idea of formality which is a shame as many do make the effort .Out of the UK most adhere to Celebritys recommendations its just the odd person which spoils it for their fellow dinning guests.

The food on the formal evenings is similar to the remaining MDR menus .On Celebrity quite good, a bit like the Curates Egg.

  7. This year we have a good deal plus all the add on benefits.Next year we have booked the same time but on a Med cruise 14 nights and are paying about £500 each more for the same cabin.Having booked their guaranteed price I keep a watch on the price .If the basic price pp comes down we supposedly are able to claim the reduction but would loose any benefits that came with the existing booking.

Anyone have experience with that system with Celebity ? Does it work ?

  8. On Celebrity S ships we book on Sky deck a C2 cabin .Mainly because of its position i.e. near stairway and lifts. The cabin is on the corner of the " hump" and has a larger balcony. If we went down to deck 9 and took the same position cabin it would be a 1A and would save us a few hundred pounds each. Its just the perceived advantage of priority boarding ,dining requests and priority boarding of any tender.

The extra points mean nothing as Elite members we would get most of the extras we would want.

Over the past few years many of the little extras from a Concierge cabin have been lost and others worthless.Does anyone eat those disgusting canapes ?

Every time we book we always look to book a Concierge cabin but it really isnt worth it.

  10. We were on the Eclipse September 2014 and had the classic package as part of the deal.

Although we are not avid drinkers the choice on the classic package was plenty for us.I do like the occasional beer and must say the choice was a little limited on that spirits neither the OH or I drink so that wasn't a problem. Wine at dinner was Ok perfectly satisfactory unless you are a real connoisseur there was a choice of 4 or 5 White or Red or something in between.

  11. Many thanks for your input.Looks like its going to be a new ship again once we get on board in September.

I agree that there are many spaces which are just a waste like Cellar masters which are hardly ever used IMO with the exception of Perry Grant ,who is not to our taste is very popular and many would miss him.

All complain about Celebrity trying to squeeze every last cent out of your wallet while on board and just opening up more pay as you use venues just makes them look more cynical.

  12. From the various threads I see that the Eclipse is going for a refit in April. Not surprisingly the work appears to be to increase the $ spend opportunities .

Does anyone know if there will be a general refurbishment of the staterooms and public areas ? recarpeting decorating etc.

We are sailing on her again later in the year and are looking forward to a revampted ship...... or not.

  13. We booked Select Dining to choose when we wish to eat.We book the first night in advance at a time we want then book as we go along or just turn up.The first night is always a bit of a scramble and the booking is supposed to make things easier for us and more leisurely. If the booking is not recognised then it defeats the whole point.

  14. As part of your booking process you (or your TA) had to select a dining preference.

    • Early fixed seating
    • Late fixed seating
    • Select Anytime dinig

Which if these did you get assigned to?

Obviously if you are assigned to either fixed seating times, there is no opportunity to "book" it, you are already booked at whatever time your particular itinerary has its early and late fixed seating.

If you have Select Dining, I do not know if it's even an option to pre-book seating I think you have to do this on board.

If you have Select Dining, you would have been required to prepay all gratuities as part of your booking.

We have booked Select Dining on our two last sailings on the Eclipse.Tried to book the first nights seating online before sailing. On presentating ourselves at the MDR at the aloted time there wasnt any record of our booking, what a waste of effort. Its Left hand Right hand problem again with Celebrity.
