We have had no issues on Anthem, my iphone stayed connected all week. On one of our sailings we had the last side balcony all the way aft and we had no connection issues.

 

We did have a couple of connection issues on Allure in May. We share a single login and will sit out on the balcony with our devices. We could not connect a few times when we switched from one device to another unless we went into the cabin and stood close to the door to the corridor. This was with a midship, deck 6 cabin.

Were you on a 12 day cruise too? I found connection horrible all over the ship. Maybe the times I was trying to connect was during peak hours :o

I was on Anthem in April and the connection was horrible! It took forever to connect and when it did it wasnt reliable. Maybe too many people connected at once or something. It was a 12 day cruise so not sure if that has anything to do with it

From what I understand, if your on the pool deck and have the deluxe drink package, you have to take off the band and give it to the server? Do you have to do that with your seapass as well? Getting on the Harmony at the end of the month and wanted to figure out which is better. Also, what is the charge to get one?

Depends on the server, some servers will bring the machine up to you, others will need your band. You dont need the seapass and card at teh same time, one or the other is fine.

There is a 5 dollar upcharge if you're not in a suite, this was on Anthem.

Are the WOW bands waterproof ? Pool & shower with no problem ? I should know, but I'm sorry I don't.

Yes. I kept it on at the beach. The only time I took it off was to shower and during bed time.

I think port day is better because then you get the best of both worlds. You can get a panoramic view of the city while still seeing the ocean as well. The view was phenomenal

You can have it added after final booking too. We did on our last cruise. We called around 3 weeks before to have the grats added. But 6 days not sure if thats sufficient time

You cannot hotspot a phone unless the phone has internet from cellular.

I tried hot spotting my phone on level 5 near guest services and that still didnt work. But overall the speed of the internet was a joke so that could have been why too.

In the latest Creator's Update to Win 10, Microsoft added a feature to allow hot spotting without an app (was required previously). I don't know if MacOS has this feature built in, or if the underlying hardware used in a Mac doesn't allow for it.

I tried hot spotting my home network and connecting all my devices through my mac and was able to do that. But then on the ship, could hardly connect, and when it finally did, it wasnt functional. :o I figured its cause Royal would be too smart to allow and probably had a way to prevent hot spotting lol.

We really liked them too. It's much more convenient than carrying around a card, even if u have a pocket for it. Sometimes pulling it out to pay for a drink you end up leaving it behind. Whereas the wow band is constantly on you. Most of the times you dont need to take it off they can just bring the machine over to you.

Looking forward to finding out why hey did that. We usually book connecting cabins as well and unless its a suite upgrade I would not want to be moved since we're already in an ocean balcony

Given that there's no known rules against it, no one is abusing anything. You pay for an unlimited one device package - what you do with that stream is up to you. Splitting it say 5 ways, doesn't get you any more data or any faster data than if you only have one device.

They announce the location of where you can purchase the bands the day of embarkation. The process is fairly quick too, much better than standing in line at guest services

Yup and allergies change too. Some of the allergies I once had, now I'm more resistant to it. I asked a doctor about this, and he said that our body changes every 10 years so it could be possible we develop new allergies or become resistant to older allergies.

Well imagine we all grew up drinking milk yet some end up allergic to diary products. I know I have allergies, but never been tested thoroughly so to know exactly what I'm allergic to. Certain foods will make me break into hives or my lips will turn purple. I just know through trial and error. I was given prescription drugs once and my lips turned purple and chapped. I didnt even know that was the reaction from those pills until the doctor told me so.

People are more educated now because of modern medicine and research hence why people are more aware of allergies. If they get sick, they go see a doctor the doctor will tell them that they dont have a cold, but instead its symptoms of an allergy.

Not necessarily. We have friends who have a child who is very brittle diabetic. Before he got his dog, he ended up in the hospital all the time. Now, they don't have to worry so much, especially during the night, because the dog alerts them all when his sugars get too low She is a small dog and the child often carries her around, and the dog sleeps in the bed with him. Apparently, she needs to be close because she detects changes in his blood sugar levels through a specific scent in his breath.

A properly trained Service Dog will not pee between the aisles in the clothing shop, but a pet masquerading as an Emotional Support Animal will.

Condos are mostly over 30 floors, how can people take 30 flight of stairs? I think you can only enforce taking the stairs for apartment buildings less than 4 floors

My condo is less strict on pets. It actually allows pets to walk in public areas. My friend's condo, you have to pick up the dog in all public areas.

The reason why I give people the benefit of the doubt is because I've seen people with legitimate service/ support dogs put their dogs in strollers and dress them up. Most of the time you can see their documentation clipped to the dog's outfit.

Nobody should complain about a genuine service dog but as previous posters have said a lot of people bring dogs which are not for any legitimate health purpose.

As to your post,if the other person felt like that they should have got out of the lift because you were already in.

However we dont know for a fact if people are abusing the system or not. We dont know if their reasons are legitimate or not. Everyone's making assumptions just because the dog is dressed up or in a buggie its not a legitimate service/ support dog

Lots of people pretend to be allergic to dogs. I was visiting my friend's condo one time and I already was in the elevator holding my dog in my arms, when a lady got on after me and told me she was allergic to dogs, and asked if I could get off and go on the next one. That was rude. Its not my business shes allergic to dogs, so I just looked at her straight in the face and didnt budge. She got in and sure enough I didnt see her allergy symptoms at all for the 22 floors until she got off.

People who claim dogs are unhygienic, you're not eating off the dog's plate, nor are you sharing the same table. So why does it matter to you? I dont know why its anyone's business why someone has a service dog with them. You may not see their reasons for needing one, but they might even have a legit reason. I'm pretty sure enough people make it uncomfortable for people to have a service dog, so if they go through the lengths of taking one with them on a trip, so be it.

I live in a city that is dog friendly, perhaps this is why it doenst bother me as much when I actually see support/ service dogs in buggies. Its actually more hygienic than having them walk around and peeing between the aisles in the clothing shop
