  1. Just want to let everyone know that we are on regal princess now 1/17 to 1/24. The regular just soda card was not listed as an option, but I asked if we could still get just the soda card and were given the red Coke sticker. Cost was $4.50 per day plus 15% gratuity. Total cost for week $36.23.

  2. We used tour by van before our panama canal cruise. Rudy was waiting for us at the airport with a sign. He brought us to our hotel. The next day, we were picked up promptly at 9am for a wonderful tour of acapulco, including the divers. At the end of the tour we were taken to the ship. We will definitely use rudy and tour by van again next time we are in acapulco.

  3. We used Rudy/Tour by Van for 2 days in Acapulco January 8th and 9th. He picked us up at the airport as promised. He was easy to find with a sign that had my name on it. He let us know about good restaurants near our hotel and about the currency, how many pesos equal a dollar. He let me know that he may not be our guide the next day, but would have a really good replacement.

The next day, our guide, Jose came 10 minutes early and had a sign with my name on it. He did a great job and took us to all the sites before dropping us off at the ship. The cost $45pp for 6 of us included the admission to the lower levels for the cliff divers. He also had a cooler of drinks in the van. Rudy did call during our tour and asked to speak with me. He wanted to be sure we were having a good time. We really enjoyed the tour and I would definitely book with Rudy again in the future.

  4. We were on the Colonial Antiqua tour with Gus last week 1/11/10. I sent the 50% deposit in advance to have Gus as our guide. He sent back ID stickers and a receipt. Gus was at the pier as promised. Our cruise critic group ended up with 16 people on the tour. Gus was a wonderful host and guide. We all loved our day in Guatemala. The lunch that was included was wonderful as well. Gus ordered a wide variety of foods and drinks and sat with us during lunch. He explained what everything was. We went to so many places including, the jade factory, macadamia farm, coffee plantation, a beautiful old church, and scenic Antiqua. I would not hesitate to book with Gus again or send the deposit.

We felt completely safe on Gus's tour. We were able to leave are belongings in the van at the different stops as the driver was always with the vehicle.

I have not had a problem with Gus answering my emails, but I understand internet in Guatemala is iffy. If an email gets bounced back it is possible that one digit in the email address is wrong or left out. I got a bounce back once but it was my fault for skipping a letter in Gus's email address. Also, one person on the tour was unable to reach Gus by email (I am not sure what the problem was), so I contacted Gus for him and then everything was fine.

If anyone has a question, let me know.

  5. I was glad to see this ?? posted. There will only be 2 of us. Any idea of what a taxi will cost? or will there be a shuttle we can get. We're staying pre-cruise at the Fairfield Inn and they have courtesy shuttle to airport & back, so could either be picked up at hotel or airport. Of course I don't need this until July - just trying to get all the plans made ahead of time.

I contacted the Seattle Express shuttle service. They run at scheduled times from the airport area hotels to the pier and from the pier to the airport. I e-mailed and was quoted $12pp each way. It also states that price on their website. We are staying at Doubletree airport the night before our cruise and this seems to be the least expensive way to the port.

  6. I just posted in another thread about this cabin. We had B749 in January on Emerald and we love the location and view. Depending on the port and which way the ship is facing the view can be great or bad, but is always nice when sailing away. It is on the corner and has a slight wrap around. The balcony is large and fully covered with four chairs (2 recline) and a table. You can see back and slightly to the right. The walk to the elevators in the back of the ship is not far but the location is a fair walk to mid ship. I agree there is some movement aft but it never bothers us. There is no noise except the water below which we like. We always try to book an aft balcony ecspecially a corner but not everyone likes them.
