  1. Hello,

We sailed on the beautiful Getaway May 31st. We were 3 families. Total of 9 ppl. 2 families had been on NCL before and the other only Disney.

My husband and I have been on 12 cruises now. My girls 10. They are 15 and 10 years old. This was our 4th NCL. We have been on most of the major cruise lines. I feel that all the cruises I have been on are somewhat alike. No huge differences for me.

We flew down on Friday night and stayed at the Courtyard in Fort Lauderdale. We rented a car from Alamo and returned it to the Miami airport location, where we took the rental car shuttle to the port. We arrived at the port by 10:45. We were on the ship by noon.

When we got on the ship we immediately headed to the main dining room for lunch! Food was pretty good. I had a meatball sub that was really tasty! We also had nachos! Lunch was quite slow but we weren't in a hurry so it was no big deal. Ok taking a break to try to get pictures to go in. Having some issues!

  2. It is so funny everyones opinion on cruise lines. We have never had a bad cruise, just some things we like better than others. Our two favs are NCl and Carnival, least favorites MSC for the food, Disney for the kids club. I would go back on any of them for the right price. Lunch on Carnival is the best imo. We are going on the Getaway in May and cant wait!

  3. Deck 8 mini suite forward, balconies are 4 times larger and 2/3 open to view from above. NCL says 289-310 sq ft

No perks. Did you make the right decision I would say yes because you already have.

For me I ask how much time am I going to be in the room and on balcony and was the price increase worth it. In this case and looking at the ports that we have been to half dozen times I would say yes as we probably wouldn't leave the ship.

Thanks, it seems like a really good deal! Only $150 more ttl, 4 of us in the cabin! Im not into any perks anyway!:D

  4. My children 8 and 12 at the time, HATED Disney kids club. They were just a number on that ship. Everything else about Disney was nice. My youngest went to the kids club 5 times and all 5 times we were paged to come get her. She was crying because she hated it. For instance, they put the 3 year olds in the same group and it was supposed to be a PJ dance party but instead they sat them down and read them a story.

On NCL the 3 times we have been we have had to pull our children out when we wanted to see them because they didn't want to leave. We really enjoy everything about NCL!
