  1. Weather shows cloudy and light rain at all the ports! Hope that no ports get changed and we will just use our umbrellas!

That's the risky thing about this cruise. I bought a waterproof jacket just in case. Light rain isn't too bad though. But it won't be raining on the ship. So I'm sure you will still have a great time. Let us know when you get back. Would love to hear since I leave on the 15th.

  2. Wow...I think everyone got almost everything. Dispose of any perishable food in the refrigerator. Mail any last minute bills. Reorganize your wallet, remove any credit cards you won't use. Be sure car keys, airline tickets, passport, ID, boarding passes are in your carry on and not your suitcase.

And most importantly, make appointments for a manicure and pedicure!! Relax!

  3. It did look like it, didn't it!?! After departing the Red Hook cruise terminal in Brooklyn she sails out to mid-channel and turns left, this is about as close as she gets...Statue of Liberty is in the upper left corner:

The perspective from which the camera is located makes it looks like she "sails by the statue", when technically it really doesn't. These two screengrabs - one from from http://www.nyharborwebcam.com and the other from Marine Traffic AIS taken at the same time (5:34pm) - show her location in relation to the statue:

At that point the statue is about 1-1/2 miles north of the ship:

Thanks for the explanation. I didn't think she went past the Statue and then I watched the harbor cam and did get confused. It is very misleading. But the ride through the NY harbor is still nice.

  4. If you will be on Regal leaving out of New York, the best place will be up on deck. I just watched her on the harbor web cam. She goes past the Statue of Liberty and then under the Verrazano Narrows Bridge. You can only appreciate going under the bridge from up on deck. You really think the ship won't fit under. It's fun. But if you have early traditional dinner at 5:30 you will miss it. She went past the Statue of Liberty around 5:30 and under the Verrazano around 5:50. Unless they schedule the traditional later on the 1st night.

  5. Watched her on the harbor web cam go under the Verrazano Narrows Bridge. Anyone sailing out of NY that hasn't experienced that should go up on deck. You really don't think the ship will fit under. Lol. I have early dinner on this cruise but I got to see it years ago on RC. It's a fun thing to see.

  6. I know it includes all drinks up to $10 but I'm sure I read somewhere it also includes crepes, gelato and the pastry shop?

    Can anyone help please?

    Thanks!

Can't seem to get a definite on the gelato and the AIBP. I'm hoping but if not I just won't eat it as often. Might not be a bad thing. Lol. There is soft serve ice cream at the buffet level. And if there are crepes, I'll have to at least try one.

  7. For all the guys out there (or their women who pack for them), do you use a suit bag to pack your suit (tux)? My husband has a nice one that also has zipper compartment for shoes and stuff and he wants to use it. It's not as convenient to carry as a roll along suitcase. So what's your thoughts.

    Thanks, Angela

  8. 30 days to go!!!! I don't really worry. I just obsess about everything cruise related until I go. Tours of the ship, pictures of the embarkation terminal, drink menus, dining room menus, ports, excursions. What nights will be formal nights. Oh and lists, lists, lists. I love to know everything before I go. I'm on that cruise ship every night until we leave!!

  9. Enjoy your upcoming cruise, it looks like it's been a while for you guys reading your footer. You'll love the Regal

If you've printed your boarding pass your mind is already onboard. :)

Yes...11 years. Way too long. So missed it!! But got the bug again. Planning Alaska and Hawai. And I really missed the great people on Cruise Critic! Always helpful, always fun.
