  1. Hi fellow cruisers, I will be sailing on Anthem of the Seas next March and we stop in Port Canaveral for the day. We already booked the Disney express from the ship. My question is it better to purchase a ticket for Epcot once we get to Disney or is it better to purchase it prior to the cruise at some place like AAA? I am just concerned that we may have bad weather and I don't really want to go to Disney in the rain.

Let me know what you did and what you would recommend. Happy Cruising!

  2. I'm very disappointed with these new rules. A few weeks ago I booked a cruise for 2019. During the booking the rep never brought up whether I wanted non-refundable or refundable deposit. I remembered almost the end of the call. She had booked me non-refundable and I told her I didn't want that. She told me she changed it but when I got my res via email it was wrong. I called back and was on the phone for an hour trying to get it changed. They told me finally that they had to cancel the res and create a whole new one. What a mess! RCI obviously doesn't care about their loyal cruisers. I told the second rep, they need to make sure they ask people what they want up front . Lots of people are going to get caught up in this deposit mess for sure!

  3. Thinking of a cruise that stops in Labadee. As a Suite guest, I would be able to rent a cabana, but would I be allowed to have my children who will not be in a suite join my wife and I?

Yes you can invite anyone you want that are non-suite guests. You just need to be the primary suite guest. You are only allowed up to 6 people in the cabana. You will be given an wristband for each person.

  4. Thanks so much for posting this thread. I love the cabanas in Labadee and didn't see any listed for CocoCay under my excursions tab. I think I like the bungalows much better anyway. Much quieter beach area, all the same amenities as cabanas really except the upgraded buffet. I like that we can order off of a menu, just as good to me. I like that the water is right there unlike the cabana area where it is a bit of walk to the water. It also appears the floating bar is close by too, 5 minute walk.

I reserved one for March 9, 2018 Anthem of the Seas cruise. We will be in CocoCay for my birthday too. This will be a nice day to celebrate it. Was it hard to get a tram or transportation back to the ship area or shopping etc?

    Thanks for the information.

  5. I guess it depends what your idea of a "pretty long walk" is... I don't think it's even 20 minutes, and I'm short and fat and walk at a slow pace.

Using the map in THIS LINK (click here), if you take the blue line over to the right and then down, you'll go past the vendor area (but you can still just stay on the road and not talk to them, you don't have to go up next to their stalls).

If you absolutely cannot handle walking past the vendors, you can also take the blue line over to the right until you see the turn off for Nellie's Beach (the last green line that goes down) and then follow that path (the red line on the map) over to Columbus Cove.

The route past Nellie's, however, does have a few stair-steps, so it would not be navigable by someone with a wheelchair or mobility problems. Someone with that much difficulty wouldn't be likely to walk that distance, anyway... they'd just take the shuttle/tram ride which follows the blue path.

There are signs along the way. You really cannot get lost at Labadee... it's just a big L shape.

Thanks for sharing that very helpful information.

  6. Thanks Anne! My girls are both teachers now, and the older one is getting married in August. They no longer cruise with us! I will be going on Anthem at the end of March with my sister. Enjoy your cruise, and I hope you are your daughter are doing well too!

Congrats to your daughter! I'm so happy for her and your family. My daughter doesn't cruise with me anymore either lol. I cruise solo now and go with groups of friends. Have a fantastic cruise on Anthem in March.

  7. Does anyone have some more recent pictures of the Beach Bungalows? We have one booked for our February cruise!!

Also, do we check in like we have a cabana or do we go to Columbus Cove and find the bungalows?

Yes would love new photos too. We are booked in April. I know that these are located pass Nellies beach and the open market. Want to totally avoid the market. Is it better to take the people tram or the ferry from the pier?

  8. Anne,

I promise to provide complete coverage of the voices and sounds from 9612. If I'm lucky, this could perhaps become deserving of it's own thread.

  9. Yippee following along since I am doing this same Navigator itinerary next April and cabin. Thanks for posting this thread!

Quick question: please let me know if you hear your neighbors through the connecting door. I had an issue on the Allure this past month while in a JS with a connecting door. I heard every single sound my neighbors made. Let me know what you think. Happy Cruising!
