  1. Can you put a certain amout of money on each child's card or is it automatically connected to the parent's credit card?

I know my kids will want to bring their own money for spending. Ideally, I would like to have them put it on their card and use their card as their own little debit. But if it has to be connected to my credit card, I don't trust that they will watch the balanced that carefully and then have an 'oops' moment that will cause them to spend my money w/out permission.

  2. Do you feel strongly about your children having a balcony? I see your perspective on the current situation. Are they old enough to have a room of their own and place them directly across from you? I have an OV balcony and reserved an internal (no view, no balcony) for my kids right across the hall. It saved money and I can keep them close by. I don't know if the ages of your children impact this though.

  3. 100% agree... Although the old crawl like the paper, I will prefer 1,000,000 time electronic compass... With an electronic one, they can keep the program must updated and in the event of changes, new times can be displayed and not wondering and making lines in guests services asking when is the show...

Also should be great if the app can accommodate your shows schedule with your dinner time so you can plan more accurate.

We are in year 2015... NO MORE PAPER... PROTECT THE PLANET... SAVE THE WAVES...:cool:

Though I haven't been on a cruise in years, I do recall the excess paper delivered with the daily agenda. What about this for a happy medium? Take volunteers to opt out of the paper? Many want/love their paper copies, others prefer paper. Just like hotels, you can opt to not have your sheets/towels changed out daily to be environmentally kind. Why not allow people to opt out, if they choose, but continue to give the paper copy for those that want it.

That said, they would need to have a really good app. I am not overly impressed with their website, so I wonder if they have it in them to build a great app.

  4. Though I still have a lot of time for planning, I want to get an idea of good shore excursions. Is there a forum that people have used to post about their experiences with the excursions? I have been reading some reviews that people write, but not all reviews containing information on the excursions. We are on the Oasis in March and I have teens/tweens so I am trying to figure out which ones are worth the time/money. Thanks.

  5. Thanks for posting this question.

Do you have to reserve ahead of time or can you get off the cruise and go on a shuttle without much planning and reservations? It's hard to figure this out bc RCI doesn't have a lot of info on their site. Looking for beach, relaxation, cabana/umbrella...if possible. Food, drinks, relaxation. No rides or anything.

  6. I am curious as well. I have three kids and would prefer not to buy wifi for all just so we can text each other. I get that we can tell them to meet us at (name location) at a certain time, but that means I have less flexibility and have to be at that location then. Can't deviate from plans. I have walked that are meant for outdoor adventures with a large range of distance. I may bring them on Oasis to see if they work. If anyone has done this before, it would be great to hear your experience.

  7. For those that have used MTD, I am wondering if there is a strategy to use with making reservations to shows. I currently am booked with MTD, but I'm a little worried that if I go to eat at XYZ time (in order to make the show later that night) that everyone will be up there at the same time, which would cause me to be seated later and thus missing the show.

Do you have any feedback about how to do this well? I don't want to miss out on shows and now I'm wondering if I should just do the scheduled dining.

  8. I have been reading comments about experiences had on Oasis regarding breakfast. What options are good for a breakfast on Oasis? I have 3 kids and will want something that is somewhat filling (i.e. not a small plate of toast). From what I have read, it looks like the Windjammer is crowded. Is the dining room open in morning? I am only looking for options that are already included and not a place that you have to pay extra for. Tia.
