1. If you cancel before you board you are refunded to the credit card you used to pay the trip. However it’s not an exact match of what you paid, usually a bit less.

I want to point out that for some markets that would be Illegal.

I work at the Nordic market and a shore excursion is always refunded the EXACT same amount from the creditcard to ordered the excursion. (Not the card that paid the cruise, That would also be illegal).

    as for the OP's question.

Azamara Club Cruises Policy: For tours departing on or after March 29th, 2017, the tour cancellation policy allows guests to cancel or modify tour reservations up to 48 hours prior to the scheduled tour departure without penalty. If changing or canceling a shore excursion within the appropriate non-penalty period, our valued guests will have two options:

    •
They can either contact the Shore Excursions team to reserve another tour, or
If they choose to cancel, will have their onboard account credited in the full amount of the tour cost without penalty or fee.
    • The cancellation policy does not apply to "Cruise Global, Customize Local" tours (formerly known as Private Journeys) and ticketed events (Grand Prix, British Open, Etc.), which must be canceled at least 30 days in advance.

  2. Good to hear that you have the number.

Just to add to the general information.

With Ship + Saildate there is 50% chance to find the sailing reservation and registering an old cruise. (Not guaranteed)

With Ship + Saildate + Booking number previous sailings can always be registered.

Other alternative proof of sailing like an old souvenir sea pass card can be photographed and sent to the team as proof of sailing and be registered.

  3. Bonnie... I understand Royal Caribbean is offering free transportation to and from San Juan Airport for their oassengers until the end of Dec due to somewhat limited transportation service . This was quoted in an article by RC on Flipboard . If transportation is an ussue for cruise oassengers IS Azanara going to be offering their guests the same courtesy shuttles ?? Is this issue being addressed by Azamara ?? Would appreciate if you would check into this.

    Thank you Sharon

For Royal they have entered in special Booking codes to the transfer that can confirm the reservation without adding any costs.

    TSJUD = Paid transfer

    TSJUDF = Complimentary transfer

Looking at the Azamara sailing 01 December 2017 we sofar only offer TSJUD (Paid Transfer)

So currently Azamara is not offering the free Transfer.

Maybe though BBMacLaird's email to the revenue/transfer team will have them change that ;p

  4. Your 2A to 1C is incorrect - you can't move between categories. So, 2A is the top of that category for which you would pay the 2B price. A 1C rate would enable you to have 1B cabin, but you couldn't pay for a 2A and receive a 1C cabin ;). Furthermore, we've never got the free upgrade from a C2 to C1 because the C1 category is in the restricted list - we've always had to pay the C1 rate, same for the FV cabins ;).

    Hi Villa UK,

Actually 2A is not the top of its category. it is right in the middle.

Verandas as a 'Super category' range from:

    1A, 1B, 1C, 2A, 2B, 2C and 2D

The different super categories that celebrity use are.

    Suites

    Aqua Class

    Concirge Class

    Verandas

    Oceanview

    Insides

The text I posted is from Celebritys policy.

If someone denies you One Category Upgrade from 2A to 1C please do ask them to check the policy again.

Attached a screenshot with the grid :)

  5. Unless it's changed, they can be in the same stateroom. Our daughter got $25 for bringing her friend and they were in the same stateroom.

    I confirm this is correct.

This is not how I read and understood the terms but others have proven that you can get the 25$ even if the friend is in the same stateroom.

  6. Saw a guy complain at the service desk because the bar had cut him off.

He was a Finnish passenger (As per his loud claims) and to a Finnish person 15 drinks should be considered normal and he challenged the staff to say where there was a daily limit of 15 drinks.

In his argument he said he had them spread out since 10:30 in the morning and at the time of the complaint it was about 21:00.

I regret not being able to see his facial expression when the staff politely informed him that there is no technical limit on how many drinks in a day you can have but since 10 of these drinks had been in the last hour and many of them shots the staff were getting worried about alcohol poisoning.

He walked away after that muttering it was unfair.

  7. The amount depends on the suite you get and how many days.

    Maximum is 500$ OBC.

    Sky Suites $200 $250 $300 $350 $400

    All other Suites $300 $350 $400 $450 $500

The different amounts are depending on the days.

    4-5, 6-9, 10-13, 14-15 or 16+

Other perks depends on what promotions is running at the time of booking.

  8. You can set a spending limit for each day or up to a specific amount.

Setting up a cash account works as well but that might already give her more money then you want to limit her too with the initial deposit. (200$)

My advice is to inquire at the service desk with a limit that you want to put on her card.

  9. Lets clear some confusion here  with some handy information from the mad Onion;).

    Inside

    11 to 10

    10 to 9

    Oceanview

    08 to 07

    07 to 06

    06 to 05

    05 to 04

    Veranda

    2A to 1C

    1C to 1B

    1B to 1A

    2B to 2A

    2C to 2B

    2D to 2C

    Concierge

    C3 to C2

    Aqua Class

    A2 to A1

But I will expand on this a little bit further because if you read it carefully you will see a mistake.

    "Categories not eligible for upgrade: 12, C1, SV, FV, and Z, Y, X, XC, XA, W "

C2 is not mentioned in this list but is excluded in the table above? In many cases Celebrity will still offer the One Category Upgrade from C2 to C1 if you are nice about it.

    Second thing.

"Upgrade must be made at time of booking."

This is not true but necessary to write as a policy (Because Americans and their lawsuits). As most of you know, Celebrity frequently changes the prices on their cruises. If the price have increased since the booking was made then the attempt to add this benefit would price the booking at todays higher price.

So in reality is. If the pricing is the same when you try to apply it then it can be applied.

"Just give them your CC # and you will get the upgrade."

Correct, But I would amend it to add "Just ask for the one category upgrade".

To often people do not get the benefit because they didn't ask about it.

When booking through a TA, Ask them to arrange for one category upgrade. I would not expect them to think about it if you did not request it.

  10. We are also planning on doing this in Buenos Aires. Celebrity told our TA to let them know before we get to the ship, even though our cruise is a 14 night. The confusion lies as to when we can disembark the first day. Can we leave whenever we would like? A few in our group have 1am flights (on the second morning), so say leaving the ship at 8-9pm the night before. Or will we need to leave on a certain schedule set by the port, say 3-5pm so there are customs agents working? No one seems to have an answer to that.

    I do! I Do!

    But my answer is 'Depends'.

As a general rule of thumb. In north/south America guests can start disembarking the ship 1 hour after the ship arrives in port.

In Europe and Asia where the government officials aren't as ^%!@$#@ as the American ones guests can expect to start checking out 30min after arriving at the port.

I would still add another 15-30min to the 30/60min incase there is a queue with MANY people wanting to check out and you were late to stand in the queue due to nom nom breakfast ;)

  12. Hello all!

Does anyone have any insight/photos of 6190 by any chance? Just booked this room and would like to have an idea of what I may be looking at! Thanks!

    Sorry no picture available.

I do have a list with the official % view obstruction.

EDIT, The formatting was bad. Update soon with better looking list.

  13. Celebrity Cruises recommends the earliest SIN flight departure to be 12:00pm on the day of disembarkation.

    Partial Cruises/Down-line Embarkation:

All requests for down-line embarkation or early disembarkation must be submitted in writing for consideration at least one week prior to voyage commencement date.

    Send all requests to emergencyteam@celebritycruises.com.

Information Needed to Process Request: All guests must have a confirmed booking in order for the Emergency Travel Team to process a down-line request.

    Guest's First and Last Name(s)

    Ship and Sail Date

    Booking Number

    Stateroom Number

Location (port) to Embark / Disembark

    Date to Embark / Disembark

    Return e-mail or fax number

    Dear Celebrity Official.

The policy that you have copied in is only for when they want to Embark/disembark in a different port other then first or last port.

    To everyone else.

If you have an overnight as a last stop you do not need a special permission to leave the day before or even in the middle of the night.

What you have to do is to speak with the guest service desk at least 24 hours prior to intended disembarkation so the staff can prepare things like final bill and on request possibly transfer/taxi.

Extra. If your embarkation port is an overnight at the start of your cruise and you want to embark the second day then while not required it is appreciated by the staff if you have mentioned this to your cruise representative so a remark can be made in the booking.

  14. Hope someone out there can help.

    ......

I was assured that no matter what all the onboard benefits would always carry over and I would not have to purchase the Go Best or the most expensive rate in addition.

When the sailing was chartered and cancelled, we were under a 2 week time constraint by Celebrity to rebook before they cancelled it on us. So we picked a sailing and I specifically told the rep it was the only cruise comparable to what we had originally but we were not sure it would work. She assured us it was fine if we needed to rebook it. Well it's not fine now.

The others reply have been spot on when it comes to policy.

If celebrity causes a change then you are entitled to all benefits and offers you had when you made the booking onboard.

Once you yourself ask to change ship/sail date then a regular representative will not be able to make the promotions stay. Only someone with senior access will be able to reapply them and sometimes only managers (Depends on exact offer).

However the reasons why I reply is because of the highlights in the quote from you.

If this have been said then there should be remarks left by that agent in the booking mentioning that this was promised. If the remarks are there they can just escalate this to their supervisor. A written promise from a celebrity representative will be honored even if it is outside Celebrity standard policy.

Alternative solution would be to ask them to check who made the changes for you the last time and ask them to assign this booking to the same person. Any changes made in a reservation is logged by the system with username and full name (unless person quit. In that case only username will show ;)).

Do keep in mind that if they do get the old promotions back you would loose the right to any promotions that are offered today. By the sounds of it the old promotion still have a better value for you but might as well set the right expectations :)

    Good luck!

  15. Hi everyone,

A while ago we noticed an issue with signing up for the cruise critic event through the celebrity website.

    https://secure.celebritycruises.com/cruisecritic/getBooking

Users either got a message saying it could not sign them up or the page or that the page is under construction/maintenance.

Yesterday I received this reply from Celebrity on this issue.

    ----------

    Good Day,

We are aware of the issue and the priority. We already have a fix which is available on the next couple of days.

We apologize for the inconvenience it’s causing.

    Thank you,

    Celebrity Technical Support

    -------------

So in the next couple of days the feature to sign up on the website should be up and running again.

  16. Update in price is handled differently within the different sub-markets inside RCCL.

For the Nordic markets customers RCCL have the policy that price updates can be done for a change fee (250 SEK/NOK/DKK or 30 Euros) up to 42 days before sailing.

If between 42 - 30 days the price can still be adjusted but it would count as cancellation and making a new booking. For Nordic countries this would mean either 5% on Cruise fare for Sweden, 300 NOK/DKK for Norway and Denmark and 50 Euros for Finland.

The exact rules changes from country to country to meet requirements of the laws to sell vacations packages in each country.

Other markets have 60 days limit but no change fees. Another have a deadline of 75 days. Some pays out back to the credit card and some of them apply it as refundable OBC on the sailing.

Trying to learn them all is confusing but I tried my best ;)

In your bookings confirmations the policy should be mentioned in the Terms and Conditions section.

On our T&C the cancellation policy is under paragraph 9 and policy for changes to the booking is written under paragraph 13.

That layout should not be too different for your markets.

I know it is a long read but I strongly advice to read them through at least once :)

    Good luck!

  17. If you contact the reservation team on RCCL they have sample menus that they can send out in PDF form. (PDF's are too large for me to upload here).

They will not have the exact menus for the different days but it should give a good estimation.

Formal nights on a 7 night cruise is normally 2nd and 6th night. This can be changed to other days if the ship finds it more suitable to move the days.

Sorry I can not be more exact but this should help :)
