  1. My DW absolutely loves a BBC with chocolate. A special drink that is readily available on Celebrity but a drink they tried to construct on other lines but struck out.

    BAILEYS BANANA COLADA with chocolate

She is waiting 16 days until we sail

  2. We are going to do a B2B in Feb. First on the Connie then going onto the Eclipse. We dock 7 a.m. and board the Eclipse for 14 days at 11:30 a.m. I presume.

Both ships are at Fort Lauderdale.

Does Celebrity aid in getting between ships?

Is there anything else Celebrity might offer between the cruises?

We have done a B2B before but on the same ship. We are Elite if that makes any difference.

  3. These posts are correct, if this is a stop on your cruise then you step off your ship right into Old San Juan. right near the end of the pier you can jump onto the Hop-on-Hop-off trolley that travels the perimeter of the city. You will go by both forts, which unless it has changed, close at 3:00.

To get the trolley it is best to walk about 1 block to the left and get a seat before reaching the crowded stop at the pier. There is a lot to see right at the pier (also to the left) with an outdoor market and Old San Juan streets.

As stated earlier when your ship cruise originates from San Juan you are across the bay.

  4. It is my understanding that if you received the 123 promo for a beverage package, you must upgrade all cabin passengers if you upgrade before the cruise. When upgrading to the premium package while onboard you will only have to upgrade a single card.

My DW usually only drinks simple beverages which will be covered under the classic package while I enjoy the martini bar and molecular bars.

It is a great opportunity to try new drinks.

  5. Just a couple of comments on your answers, John. The shows generally go for 2 hours (sometimes 10-12, or 1-3, or 4-6 depending on the day's schedule. Each of the 3 glass-blowers do one piece, or part thereof to be continued on the next day, and do the narration for one of the other two colleagues.). If you are on a transatlantic with several sea days, there are usually 2 shows a day. And sometimes even especially FANTASTIC nighttime shows. The shows really are wonderful -- as you mentioned. It's one of the reasons we love the first 3 builds of the Solstice class.:D

Thanks for the correction. I thought 2 hours but the woman i dearly love told me that that 1-1.5 was the length.

we have only been on the Solstice as far as Solstice class goes but we now are booked on the Eclipse and the Hot Glass Show was a big part of our decision.

  6. Guessing these shows are listed in the little daily paper? yes times are listed

How long do they last? about 1-1.5 hrs

How often do they have them?once a day

Is it crowded-get there how early?15 minutes early

Awesome that some people get to win pieces! I love watching blown glass demos!!

    Thank you!

The crowds get bigger and stay longer as people become aware of the draws

  7. Just to let you know that there is a HOT Glass Show on the Solstice, Eclipse, and I believe the Silhouette. For those that just drop by you may miss a great opportunity. Often at the end of the show they have give away draws of some of their work. We were successful on our B2B 14 days to win at 2 occassions. We were with two others for our first week and they never wanted to stay to the end so we missed out. They did not warn us we would miss out by leaving. On week 2 we found great enjoyment in staying to the end. We have some art work that we saw being hand crafted and it is still special.

At the end of the cruise they auction off 5-7 pieces as fundraisers for scholarships at Corning and for Breast Cancer. We made a purchase in the auction and now have 3 pieces.

  8. We received our call on friday May 17 about our cancelled Hawaii cruise. compensation they proposed is very good and they will honour the 123 promotions.

others have mentioned the waiting game, I must state that, ourselves included, have been aware of the refurb, mostly because of Cruise critic. You can state what you want but this knowledge did not move us to change our plans

    1. because we wanted to be sure

    2. also because we wanted not to do anything that might jeapordize a compensation proposal.

The proposal is in, time to react, get on with the new plans. Thanks Celebrity we like others have contingency plans in place and will be committing shortly

  9. It is my understanding that leaving passengers behind is not done without consideration. Paging of passengers that have not been recorded coming aboard is performed. With no response the cabins are checked.

If it is determined that the people are not aboard the crew will go to the cabins and check the safe for passports. If they are present they will be left at the dock with the cruiseline agent (usually listed on the daily).

  10. We were on the Solstice and got a lot of enjoyment from the Hot Glass Show. Every show ended with a raffle. Free tickets were given to all who were present at the "END" of the show. The items raffled were from previous shows as any item crafted spends a further 18 hours or so in the oven.

Any item that has a defect (like a chip) or not up to the satisfaction of the artist will not be raffled.

We were lucky enough to be winners in two draws and got into a bidding war for a particular piece that my DW wanted, she got it. All funds, as stated previously, got to charity or a scholarship.

If we were trying to decide between cruises the Hoy Glass Show may be the deciding factor.
