  1. On Anthem in November/December I noticed a rather large table (looked like 10-12 people) at the front of Chic dining room. Also the same size right as you entered the Grand dining room. IMHO not the best table placement - lots of foot traffic:eek: but I also saw many banquet type areas that could be pulled together to seat 12 - no worries! We were a group of 8 and had a very nice oval table tucked away in the back (I think Grandeur of the Seas warned them about my group, after being warned by Adventure, after being warned by Explorer...what can I say - we enjoy ourselves;))

  2. Had this cabin on Adventure a few years back and it was great! BUT if you can get 7388 or 7688 grab it! Balcony is huge and you don't notice the superstructure after a bit. Corner afts are our preference and we go deck 7, then deck 9. Don't care for deck 8 because of the arrangement of the door.

One thing to note about 9360 - the exterior wall is very thick because of the porthole window - it eats up a lot of floor space. The bed is also against that wall and I spent the whole trip crab walking between the wall and the bed. But if it was the option, I'd take it;)

  3. Have not had the pleasure of an AFT corner on a Freedom class ship, but have two times on Voyager class (very similar). Love, Love, LOVE the corner on deck 7 and deck 9 (don't like 8 so much because of the door situation). Would take 7 over 9 in a heartbeat:).

Little bit longer walk from rear elevators to the back, but look at it as extra calories for dessert:p. It is also very quiet back there and the view is stellar:D

  4. Thought a notary just certifies that the person signing is that person.

How would a notary certify a document is what is appears to be ?

Speaking as a notary, the only way I could do this is to have the original document, make the copy myself and then notorize it as a true and certified copy;)

  5. I am on the January 22nd Oasis sailing with our three kids and landing at 12:45 in Orlando airport. Does anyone know the absolute latest we can arrive at the port in case there are any delays?

Wow - you're going to be cutting it close! It's at least an hour from MCO to Port Canaveral. Sail away is 4:30pm so you have to be on board no later than 3pm. Might want to carry on your luggage if possible to save the time at baggage claim. Also look at RCCL transfers if they're still available!

I personally would be looking to see if there are any earlier flights or possibly coming in the day before. With winter weather you can never be too safe:eek:

  6. There is nothing wrong with this cabin! We love the corner afts and have actually had 7688 on Explorer:D. Some people don't like afts because of the long walk from the elevators but that makes them very, very quiet;).

You will feel a bit more motion in the aft, but that huge balcony is to die for! Whenever we're on a voyager class we go for the corner afts on 7 or 9:D

  7. I travel for work a lot and over the years have found that all of the cubes and space saving bag type things are just novelty items you don't need.

Pack your clothes in a bundle and you will make use of all of your space with minimal wrinkles. If you need an outfit prior to unpacking everything, just lay it flat on top of your bundle. Super easy and way less expensive. And you don't need to hunt for a vacuum to pack for the trip home.

Been there and done that - personally think it actually wastes more space. As to the vacuum, the type of bags I use don't require it - you just roll them up and it forces the air out a vent. Easy peasy;) AND leaves room for souveniers etc. without going over weight limits:D

  8. I consciously try not to overpack, and it isn't possible! LOL. I use space bags for storage at home, and just started wondering if others used them on cruises. And I agree, it would be awesome to store dirty clothing in after wearing.

My space bags at home have a vent, and I can roll them to squeeze air out, and I don't need a vacuum.

Yep, those are the ones we use too. Over the years I've gotten in the habit of throwing a few medium sized ones in the bottom of the bag before I pack it because we usually do end up bringing back a few..hehemm...bottles of some sort of adult beverage;). If you think about the packaging material they use (foam encased in plastic) to ship fragile stuff, the spacebags filled with dirty clothes does the same basic thing (and the clothing is protected in case of a tragic situation:eek:).

Sadly, I noticed on our trip in November that my bags will need to be replaced (not holding as long/well) - but hey I got 10 years out of them so it's all good:D

  9. We use a mix...some things (tees, shorts etc.) go into the space bags on way to trip, but more dirty clothes come home in the bags:D. Have found over the years that using them on way home makes great padding for liquor to be packed into your bags:cool:

  10. I'm not sure what your guide was talking about. When in St. Thomas, this is the beach that we go to. Water is calm to swim and plenty of trees for shade. It's easy to get to and the view as you climb the mountain to get to Magen's is spectacular especially when many cruise ships are in port. The cattle cars that get you there is an experience. lol

She said that because of the shape of the basin there was not a lot of natural water movement and that at times the water was less than healthy and that most of the locals avoided swimming there because of that...like I said, not sure if it's true, but being a girl raised on back waters/swamps/bays it makes sense. There are areas here that I don't swim because of that exact reason. Just sayin';)

  11. I have done four Quantum Class cruises and absolutely no reservations before on board. And often I did go to restaurants without reservation or much earlier than my actual reservation. I did reserve shows a a dat or two in advance. If too many reservations too much to cancel or change. Just go without any reservations.

Not sure how many you were traveling with. In my experience, if there are more than 2 or 3 people, you really do need to make reservations. My group is generally 8 or more people and if you don't only time you'll get once you board is very late (for dinners) and trying to find 8 seats together at a show is also very dicey:eek:

  12. Coki is nice too - 10 min ride

Second this one - was gorgeous and not rocky!

Why do you say that? I haven't been there recently, but it's always been one of my favorites in the Caribbean.

When we were there our guide explained that there was little water movement in Megan's Bay and the water wasn't good - don't know if it's true or not, but we prefer to stay away from crowds anyway;)

  13. Six out of the eight people in my group signed up for the texting option in November. Two of them could send texts but could never receive texts, two of them it seemed some days to work and other days not. My DH and I had no problems - seems like it's a crap shoot:o

  14. If you can make reservations, it will be much easier for you;). Some of the things you can reserve prior to boarding are:

    Dinners (Specialty and MTD)

Shows (Spectra's; the Gift and We Will Rock You)

    Ripcord (iFly)

    Northstar

For Ripcord and Northstar you can make only make one reservation, if you want to go additional times you do have to go standby. While on our trip the Ripcord standby seemed to be very short as most groups had one or two people not show up or chicken out.

Bumper cars etc. seemed to be easier to get if you did the morning session - only had to get there about 15 minutes before. For the later sessions (afternoon) you had to be there at least 30 minutes before:eek:

If you haven't already, download the RoyalIQ app - once you're aboard you can make reservations for the PuzzleBreak Room - it was awesome! Plus we never even saw it in the Compass, so it's not well advertised:cool:

For Spectra's we arrived about 30 minutes early and had no problem securing seats in the balcony area but the floor was basically gone by then, so if you want seats on the floor you should probably shoot for 45 minutes. If you get there before the hosts, they will come and check to make sure you have reservations so arriving early won't get around a lack of reservation.

For the Gift we arrive about 30 minutes early and most of what was left was the awkward seats behind poles etc. so if it was me, I'd arrive earlier than 30 minutes.

For WWRY we went to the matinee showing and got there almost 45 minutes early to make sure we got prime seats.

For both of the shows in the theater they have hosts checking your seapass as you enter to make sure you have a reservation. Those without reservations were let in around 15 minutes before curtains up - if you are more than a group of two will be hard to find good seats:(

HTH - Enjoy Anthem, she's a ship everyone should experience;)

  15. Egg crate are no longer available onboard RCI ships as these couldn't be cleaned and sanitized properly for the next passengers. What the cabin steward typically does for too hard of bed complaint is to add a duvet under the bottom sheet.

It's either that or you bring your own personal egg crate to use onboard.

Our bed already had that on it when we got aboard...didn't help much:o. Just got used to it after a few days:cool:
