  1. I think most of us can agree, if the dog is a Truly needed "working" Service dog? We don't have a prob with that.

Its the phoneys trying to get away with something.

We see them All the time......at your restaurants, stores, shopping centers.

Its like these dog owners, thinks every store is a Petco?

First time I saw a dog on a cruise..... was an older man Walking his dog on a leash thru the buffet! The dog is barking like crazy, which makes 100 of us turn to look....Where did the dog come from, & whats it doing next to our food?

Next day I see the same small dog in the arms of a middle aged man.

He carried the dog into a restaurant, and it appears they gave him a table in the back.

I only saw the dog being carried after the first days debacle.

I think they had a talk with him.

Do we think it was the real deal? Doubt it.

But main concern being the dog shouldn't be walked thru where everyone is attempting to eat. And we appreciated the Crew telling them they can't do that.

    That was an eyeopener.

  2. I've been gold for a few years at Venetian/Palazzo and this is the first time I have received this offer, although I have friends that received it in the past. So I will also be there in June to pick it up even though I just got home from the Palazzo 2 days ago:rolleyes: Unlike most of the offers I get from casinos, this one includes the opportunity to improve the offer (upgrading stateroom or cruise length) depending on how many points I earn during my stay at Palazzo.

I've cruised most mainstream lines, but never Princess so I am looking forward to giving them a try. Free(ish) is good!

IF you get back to this thread, (or muggo?) could you please share WHAT is the number of Tier points needed during your stay V/P, to upgrade cabins?

Host got me on the offer, but I don't have the mailing details. Thanks!

(FYI- this is second comp Princess cruise offer from a casino for me. Last one for Princess was Stations, LV. Usually I get NCL thru CET.)

Seems we got cruise offers up the wazoo! But I wanted the Princess offer again.

I must say, I LIKED the Princess service alittle better.

Ships are longer in the tooth than most NCL ships.....but seemed a better quality experience.

I also LIKED that Music ISN'T in every hallway & corner of the ship.

(told the Capt. that fact too. He didn't seem to realize the difference, but

it was a big difference to us.

You can actually enjoy the peacefulness more. We liked it better!

    ;)

  3. Thank you, CT.Cruisers. That was the *one* port we had information on.

We have been sidetracked by a very ill family member and really need help with Cozumel and Costa Maya.

Very sorry to hear about your ill family member.

To help with your choices, Cozumel & CM:

Can't remember which was which, but we did the Mayan tour a couple trips thru NCL at one place, and Tequila tour (also twice) at the other place.

Everybody over 21 really enjoyed it.

I wasn't sure about the Tequila tour, when I heard about it? Because I"m not a big drinker.

    But it was great.

On the tequila tour its not just drinking. Very educational & at the end you

are served fresh made tacos that are excellent. Cute gift shop too.

You aren't obligated to buy any tequila, just learn & buy at home if you please.

Everybody I brought along, really enjoyed the tour.

  4. We have found that bank ATMs in Europe generally don't charge fees, but your bank my charge fees. The ship's ATM will charge a high fee, something like $6 per withdrawal.

Depends on your bank, or what the perks of your account are.

We have BofA, and ATM fees are reimbursed from the ship.

I used the ships casino ATM daily for cash. If smaller bills needed,

can do that at cashier cage.

Find out about your daily limit, and you may be able to use ship ATM

and get fee from withdrawls reimbursed!

  5. Thats very strange. Never had points deducted for a Win.

Nov.2015, I got to Gold status, plus got a W2G the last night.

Nothing deducted from my points or I would have been short earning Gold.

I barely made it. Even had Host checking points 3 times the last night to

make sure I didn't come up short!

Now you know, Points expire end of March, so since I'm Gold as of Nov, got my next NCL cruise in May to start the points over, for This year.

I've come to the conclusion it takes me 2-3 cruises in a year (before Mar.31)

    to acquire Gold level.

I get my Drink card thru Harr/Caesars comps. Pretty sure I got the

casino Drink card when I booked thru CAS also.....

But the points deduction thing has me baffled?

    Thats never happened to me.

  6. I agree about the Handwashing stations. I also miss all the Washy-washy

    staff at entrances of buffets.

Even when boarding ship, they Should be there!

Too often this simple event goes missing or understaffed and then you

    hear of a Noro outbreak.

We were on Crown, mid March.....No issues.

But I noticed, just like on recent NCL ships, they are trying to skirt by with

fewer Washy washy staff..... this is a Bad idea.

Bring back washy-washy, and Make guests USE the hand sanitizers.

Staff needs to be Careful too.

Noro is NOT fun. Been there. Its horrible.

As to the person who said, Why didnt you go to Medical Center?

    I can answer that.

Because when I caught Noro, you are so sick, you really CAN'T leave the bathroom.

    And when you can?

You feel so sick & weak, you need to lay down! You are captive in your room!

Thats the sickest I've ever been & thought I was going to die. Its AWFUL.

Everybody needs to practice Keeping It CLEAN.

  7. Could you share what the cost of the upgrade was? As noted before I'm used to Carnival's offers like this but not Princess. On Carnival, upgrade from free inside to Balcony is usually 250 - 260 per person on a 7 or 8 night cruise. Upgrade to OV usually 100. But you can choose the highest balcony category in that group.

    Wondering same thing.

Also, the upgrade costs for NCL are VERY similar to Carnival.

I am doing something alittle different this Princess booking..... I'm Taking the Inside comp cabin, and see IF an upgrade is offered closer?

    If not?

I plan to use the Inside cabin.

I've upgraded every past cruise, always AT the Time of booking.

Insides seem to book up Fast.....

So this time, plan to grab the Insdie "freebie" and wait for poss upgrade.

Last Princess cruise, I was able to upgrade last min for $79 each.

    (that was OV to Balcony)

  8. Yes, they were both over $1200 on a VP slot machine and they asked for my SS number so I know it was reported.

I sent an email, so I'll wait and see what they say. There is only a link to get a win/loss statement, so that wouldn't help. I'll be taking more cruises this year, so I'll wait on that.

    Sue

Huh.....I've gotten W2G's from ships casino & theyve Always given it when

they gave the cash. Don't know why they wouldn't? Good luck getting yours.

  9. Thanks muggo. I'm hoping that the OP will come back and share his points on the ship since he said it was the points that got the free cruise offer. Like I said, Carnival's minimum seems to be 5,000 points. Just curious if Princess is running the same program now.

8,000 points in Princess ship casino, for future free (2) Inside cruise.

Only thing, its only for a month to book, then must sail before times up,

    approx 8 months.

This is a much smaller window to book & sail, than the casino offers

    I get from NCL.

  10. Or do nada....

We just walked around the town, exploring. I saw someone mention in

their trip report......Tortula, Not yet ready for Prime time.

    I would agree with that.

We walked, dodging traffic, visited a pharmacy, stuff like that.

We sat on a bench, looking like a couple locals, & watched a couple chickens & chicks walking around & nobody seemed to notice.

It was a lowkey day. Maybe gone off the ship only a couple hours.

All the excitement from the chickens.......we had to get back. Ha! :p

  11. I think the Op means well with the comments. I've thought the same thing.

Having sailed with a boatload of Coughing Canadians (they were coughing boarding in Vancouver, and continued to do so thru the cruise), I can understand how the Op feels.

HOW the ship even let them on?

You could tell it was bad colds, Not allergies.

NOT fun sailing with people who are trying to pull a fast one, and sail anyway.

Plus they gave their sicky cold & cough (Not allergies) To Me!

  12. Thanks for the headsup muggo.

I contacted my host at V/P to find out WHY I didn't receive this email. I've been Gold for years, and complained last visit that my offers have been getting lame...... This was the clincher!

Yeah its probably a fishing offer to get past players Back.

But, I'm already There, and want it too!

  13. I have been going to the Venetian on comps for the last 3 years. This is a special promotion for their current customers that runs through the end of June. Nice partnership between Princess Casinos and Sands Corp is my guess.

muggo, you are talking about a different casino comp. The kind you get at a casino NOT on the ship.

I'm talking about the SHIPS casino....

" I earned enough points in the Crowns casino for a free upcoming cruise.

Its for 2, Inside cabin, sailing thru Oct. 22."

  14. We were on 6A last year on the Sun, which I really liked the location.

Ocean view cabin. Halls were fairly quiet.

But as far as Quiet in our Cabin? Thats another story!

Our rooms AC/Fan was so So LOUD. You could hardly hear yourself think.

Somebody came to check it out & basically said there was nothing he could do. I wanted to take a sledgehammer to it.

The vent also takes up a whole wall too, and blows constantly.

I came home with a massive sinus infect.

Unless they've done a fantastic refurb?

We would NOT book it again.:(

  15. Just returned from a comped 3-night stay at the Palazzo in Las Vegas to a NEW offer. A 3-night stay at the Venetian or Palazzo that came with a free interior cabin for a Princess cruise, Jumped on this. So now, I will have two free cruise certificates to use in 2017 as the casino on Emerald gave me one the day we disembarked a couple of weeks ago. New goal: pay nothing for cabins in 2017!

Are you Gold or Plat with Ven/Palz?

  16. I brought ONE bottle of wine with me last cruise, to be consumed in our cabin. i bought a carrier for it, cost $4 from a shipping store. It looked like a big egg carton. It was a hassle, from flying to carrying on...... been there done that, won't do it again.

Plus, we ended up Not finishing it. Between the Casino host comping drinks, and we got a dinner that included $50 bottle of wine, yada, we never needed to bring anything. We went to a Wine tasting....that was 5-6 small drinks, etc. It was more than enough.

Also I gained a few more pounds, Not from the food, as much as all the wine!

Next cruise, I ain't bringing any, and I'm drinking more iced tea. :o

  17. Thanks for both of your responses & opinions.

Appears that Star sailed from SF last year, we missed it.

After more digging, looks like Grand is our ONLY choice from

SF late this summer. Yep, Free is good.

Well, almost.....I get what you mean, port charges, taxes, upgrades.

However I'm leaning towards grabbing an Inside for a change, and

see if any upgrade deals happen...... :)

  18. I get casino comp cruises. So far only NCL includes Alaska in their choices, so were taking our 2nd Alaska trip from NCL in May.

On the other hand, we just got off Princess Crown, Calif Coastal, and earned a Comp cruise.

Guess where its NOT valid? Alaska

So at least for Me? I won't be sailing on Princess to Alaska.

Its good for Carrib. or another Calif Coastal, which I'll probably do cuz saves on flights.

At least thats MY reason for not doing Princess alaska.....
