Called Celebrity (Captainā€™s Club # not like that did any good) to have the b2b credit applied to our 2025 cruises and ensure our Book Later OBC was added since the phone agent who booked last week advised it would take a week or so to apply. So far I have been on the phone for almost 2 hours, first leg invoice went from 3045.00 to 4715.00. No Book Later OBC applied and waiting for a supervisor. (Yes, I know, let a TA deal with it but Iā€™m a control freak until I transfer to a TA)Ā

    To add, this crazy (crappy) customer service is not isolated to Celebrity. Have experienced similar with Princess. I worked for a fortunate 100 company leading the sales department within their call center and itā€™s a tough customer service world now šŸ„² Unfortunately that seems to be the way it is now.Ā

    Iā€™ve learned to call for customer service concerns while in my office getting other stuff done ā¤ļøšŸ˜‚ Happy Cruising!

    For me, yes. On Celebrity (have sailed almost exclusively), I order my omelette, go grab a few other things, come back and wait a few minutes for my omelette. Booked our 1st Princess cruise for later this year and hope it works the same. Dining area staff in the buffet was close to non-existent on our most recent Celebrity cruise (and still loved it!)Ā Guessing Princess is having the same staffing woes so Iā€™d rather self-service šŸ˜€

  3. Did luggage valet on Eclipse a few weeks ago, just 2 of us, American Airlines flight after 12pm. Took a cab to the airport, seamless. Actually got to the airport way early!! Believe Celebrity website lists airlines eligible and flight time requirements on their website. Would do it again anytime it was available!

    So we urge fellow bloggers to post your thoughts, both positive and negative. And as a very frequent cruiser (70-100 days a year) we read lots of comments and some of our decision making is based on what we see here on CC.

    At the risk of starting a debate as I may have misunderstood (hate written communication vs. verbal as it is so easy to misinterpret based on the reader's preception) I thought this thread was fellow bloggers posting

    their thoughts, both positive and negative. I sincerity posted as I do feel Celebrity offers me the best value, sea or land based on my needs/wants.

  5. Yes I agree. If I don't like a restaurant I don't go back. My wife and I have cruised on a half dozen or so cruises. Maybe we are easy people to please but there may be little things that you could complain about. But really you want to ruin your vacation because you didn't get towel animals every day?

    I've read cruise reviews after we got off the ship about how bad the food was, poor room attendants,non pleasant cruise staff. This was on the same cruise, ship we were on and couldn't believe it. We had a totally different experience.

    I always treat people with respect like I'd like to be treated. Seems to come back at you. My old saying you get more with sugar than vinegar.

    Granted some times you just run across a difficult person. Win them over with kindness.

    We are going on the Feb 16, 2016 cruise on Constellation and looking forward to it.

    Only have 10 or so cruises until our belt, all with Celebrity (1st on Galaxy 2003 I believe) or RCCL. After 10 years of trying to convince my hubby to cruise he said Galaxy was the best vacation he ever had. Quite a few years later, things have changed, the " little things" are gone but still the best bang for our vacation buck. I'm a "bargain shopper" but also know what I am willing to pay for and not pay for. I keep looking for a better value than Celebrity giving me what is important to me but I haven't found it. Most recently sailed on Eclipse for 2 weeks and although there were things I would have changed if possible, the trip was overall AWESOME! B2B on Reflection booked for 2016 and can hardly wait! Too bad work is always getting in our way!
