  1. We sailed Nov 24 - Dec 1st and MSC was amazing!  We received everything as promised and didn't have one issue with our deluxe drink package.  We had a min bar stocked with mostly what we wanted.  One thing I didn't like was we had to call room service to get diet pop and they didn't have Malibu for the mini bar.  Didn't bother me too much just thought it was weird.  The staff were great and let me order two drinks at a time even if my hubby wasn't with me.  The gelato was amazing and I would just love to have it right now!! oh and the chocolate bar...yummy!!! The shows were absolutely amazing and just when I thought it couldn't get better it did.  I really loved the welcome back party and should have recorded it as it was something I've never experience on a cruise ship.  The food was amazing and there were so many options available. We will cruise MSC again.

    Trying to figure this out!!

I sail on Saturday. We are staying in YC.

Milkshakes a yes or a no?

    Mini bar items??

We sail Saturday too and I’m not sure what will happen either. We have the deluxe. I want the mini bar and was promised I would still get it.

I would really like to know before we cruise in a few weeks.  I hate the not knowing part, especially when I paid for something specific and now I am not 100% sure what that means with the change in drink prices. We upgraded to the Deluxe and the mini bar was a big part of that.  And the one champagne by the glass (decent one lol) is now over the old $13 per drink limit so I am feeling uneasy at best about what is going to happen once onboard.

The mini bar was a big part of why we decided to upgrade to deluxe.  We set sail on Saturday so will post what happened.  Hope its all good!

You seem confused.  If you aren't in the Yacht Club, and since you say you have the classic package that seems apparent, then none of the discussion applies to you.  If you have questions about non-yacht club drink packages and prices, you might get more response in a different thread - one not focused on yacht club.

No need to be rude! I am apart of another thread and just trying to get my ducks in a row.  As someone said on here ...it doesn't matter if your part of YC or not for the drink package.

I just received a reply from customer service stating:

Thank you for contacting MSC Cruises.

Please be advised drink packages that have already been purchased will be honored. Therefore the minibar and Gelato in cup for the All-inclusive Deluxe

    package would be honored.

    Kind Regards,

    On a followup question:

Thank you.  How about the crepes, gelato bars, etc. that have all previously been included in the All inclusive deluxe package? And the beverages (chocolate martinis, etc.) at Venchi?

    The answer:

Please see drink comparison guide for clarification of  included drinks for guest that have already purchased the "All Inclusive Deluxe " drink package.

It appears as though the original deluxe package terms will still apply if this is the package you have bought.  This was asked in reference to cruises both Nov 17, 2018 and March 16, 2019, and the answer was that if already purchased, we will receive the original package.

    Thanks for posting!!

I seem to have gotten a different answer than others, that my Deluxe plan has been switched to the Premium, which holds significantly less value for me.  Although my booking still shows deluxe so hopefully this is just a case of someone not actually knowing the answer and guessing as seems to be the MSC way.

Thinking back to when I was first booking this cruise (which is to be my first cruise) and I asked about a hair dryer.  I was told there is one in the room and that guests are not permitted to bring their own hair dryer, curling iron or hair straighter on board.  I  told her that the hair straightener ban was a deal breaker for me and was ending the call and she immediately said that hair straighteners were permitted...  that should have been my red flag that they're all just guessing at the Ft Lauderdale (USA) call center.

I had the same answer and asked if we get the mini bar, room service and whatnot still. She said yes. I emailed msc yesterday and will see what they say as well. Someone on Facebook got this answer back from MSC.

Hi all, I am on a January cruise on Seaside with DOU  booking and have been following this thread as we were planning to upgrade to Deluxe ($26/day/pp) for the additional benefits including minibar and room service. I decided to call and play “dumb” and just request for this upgrade to be added to my account hoping to be grandfathered in for all the changes happening. I immediately was connected with a very pleasant MSC representative who for the first few minutes was going along and confirming the $26/day upgrade. I was then placed on hold for a brief time and when the rep came back on the line she told me that they were going through some pricing changes and could not upgrade at this time, but to call back later this week (around Thursday) and they would then be able to complete the transaction. I started questioning a bit what that meant and I was told that the upgrade would still be only $26 per day to the “deluxe” (assuming actually premium plus?) but right now the system and website was incorrect and would charge too much. She also said the upgrade would still include the minibar/room service.

I am am not sure how much stock to put into this but did want to share my experience as it has put me at ease for the time being that this will be sorted out.

wow thats sneaky of them. Happy we upgraded last Monday.  Thanks for posting this.

What will that help for those with the Classic package or Aurea cabins?  The Classic package has beers, wines and cocktails limited by a dollar value.  If the new prices on the ship eliminate 90% of the choices then honoring the package won't help.  People with the Classic package are in real jeopardy here.

Also, all the people who booked under Drinks On Us no longer have the same packages to upgrade to compared to when they booked.  When I called to try upgrading a further out DOU booking I was told I could now only upgrade to Premium at 3x the past rate for Deluxe.  So anyone who has a booking and hasn't already upgraded form DOU, it may be too late.

Im sure happy we upgraded last week before this all happened.  We paid the $26 per person per day.  So far they keep saying they will honour what was purchased.  So for now I’m happy we upgraded haha.

This is my concern too.  If deluxe is Premium Plus and Premium Plus isn't offered on my itinerary then what do I have now?  I'm also in USA and booked through MSC USA so I'm awaiting what you say.

I just got off the phone with MSC USA and she said I will get everything  in the deluxe as I booked it. Sent an email for confirmation as well. Fingers crossed she’s right.
