So what package will I get if I have already purchased the Deluxe?  Will I have to pay the difference of the Premium or will MSC refund the difference for the new deluxe?  Just when I thought MSC had a great beverage package, they sound like they may have the worst.  This is actually unbelievable if they don't honor the premium if you have already purchased the Deluxe.  At least NCL honors whatever package you originally purchased whenever they have increases.  I can only assume MSC will do the right thing too.

Why do you say they won’t honor it? We have the deluxe and that’s what I expect

to have when we cruise on the 24th this month. I upgraded from the DOU yo classic then wasn’t sure about the drink price increase so we upgraded get again.

It's not that they are asking for more money from those who have already purchased a package, it's a question of what the packages now includes.  The comparison chart slei15 posted above shows a dollar limit in each beverage category.  MSC can, and evidently did, change the beverage prices on the ship(s) so that now many drinks might no longer be included - especially for those with the Classic package.  That is a little trick I have experienced twice with NCL, but hopefully MSC won't play that game and they will increase the package limits to match the new menu prices.

We sail on the 24th and didn't want to take the risk of them changing (or not) the allowed cocktail price for the classic and just went with deluxe.  Don't need that stress on holidays.

My guess is, they will do the same thing NCL does. When the drink prices go up, so does the amount allowed with the package. I would not worry about it, since none of the beers or drinks fall under the new limit. Think about it. You would be buying an unlimited drink package that you could use for nothing other than coffee and ice cream. MSC will figure it out. Relax.

yes I'm sure they will but in time for my cruise on the 24th?  I don't know as when you call MSC they don't even know about the price changes.

The thought of spending more USD to upgrade from the Classic to the Deluxe does not make me happy, especially being Canadian as you are, with the exchange rate that's another $10.80 a day and at 11 days almost another $240 Canadian!!

My complaint as well.  Its a terrible exchange rate.  So do I get my money back for the upgrade to the classic or suck it up and pay $112 American more??!  On the plus side it would have cost us $770 for deluxe and we would only pay $364 (we are on a 7 days cruise).  Good deal if your not converting the money from CND to USD.  I would have never paid the $770 to drink on a ship as we aren't big drinkers. First trip without our kids so maybe we will have a few more drinks that usual and I don't want to be limited on the frozen drinks.

  5. Has anyone heard anything new about this yet?  We sail on Nov 24th and have the classic package.  We got this package for the frozen drinks now not sure if we can get them with the classic package with the recent price increase.  If we do decide to upgrade to deluxe (don't want to) you get a minbar (with booze?), crepes, protein snacks/drinks, room service, drinks through room service, fresh juice,  and specialty ice cream cups? Anything else I need to know with deluxe package?
