  1. From the Delta website:

"Can I change or cancel my flight?

It‘s easy to cancel, make changes or rebook online. Visit My Trips to make changes to your flight(s) any time before your travel date. We’re now waiving change fees and Award redeposit fees providing greater flexibility to travel using eCredits through September 30, 2022, for customers who:

have upcoming travel already booked for March through September 30, 2020 as of April 17, 2020

have existing eCredits or canceled travel from flights in March through September 30, 2020

Tickets purchased between March 1 and July 31, 2020, can be changed without a change fee or Award redeposit fees for a year from the date you purchased it."

I agree its a bit confusing, it appears that my tickets were purchased during the applicable time frame but if you are planning to purchase before July 31  it sounds like you would incur no change fee so long as you rebook within 1 year and any ecredit would

likewise expire 1 year from the date you purchase if you subsequently cancel the flight.

My guess is that if that July 31 date is not extended then any cancellation by the passenger for a ticket bought Aug 1 and later

would incur the usual penalty of a change fee. The time to use an ecredit  will still  be 1 year from the date of  purchase as that is the pre Covid rule.

Hope this helps but keep in mind unlike most other posters here, I am no expert just been down this road a few times.

  2. We are onboard this somewhat ill-fated voyage. Having skipped Liverpool and overnighted in Belfast, we headed to Dublin where we had an uneventful day. But now being told that we will not be stopping in Holyhead, Wales. Never been on a cruise where so many ports have been missed. Oh well, free cocktails tonight!

  3. Wonder if I can get a definitive answer here: My 20 year old niece wil be sailing with us to Alaska. The ship departs from Vancouver, ie a country where she could legally drink. Will Celebrity allow her to purchase a drink package? She is excited at the prospect of being allowed to drink with her cousins in the bar. I told her I wasn't sure that was going to be allowed. Anybody know for sure? (No judgments please)

  4. Rachel if you are hanging around a bit, afternoon tea at the Peninsula is walking distance from the cruise terminal and really nice. Very elegant with a string quartet playing on the mezzanine. Total throwback to HKs days as a colony and truly enjoyable experience ? Added bonus: We have done this each of the 3x we were in Hong Kong and I don't recall ever seeing anything with tofu on offer!

  5. We cruised to Vietnam about 10 years ago and I will never forget the sail-in to the harbor in Saigon. The raw emotion of the handful of Vietnam Vets who were on the deck with me that early morning was very hard to process. I get teary even now thinking of those men and their palpable grief and sense of loss. Are there any returning Vets onboard?

  6. Delta offers "mileage booster" on its booked flights and I have never purchased but wondering if the experts here can offer an opinion if it is worth it? They are offering 3k miles for $59. So on 4 segments i can buy 12k add'l miles for $236. I have lots of miles and not needing anymore for anything in particular but wonder if I am missing an opportunity by passing this up?

Cant get my head wrapped around the math.

  7. Thanks so much for this thread! My TA called and I am now $600 to the good! Yay! I don't have any "free" excursions having opted for the OBC so cant speak to that but I was given 25% off my and my husband's already booked excursions, one of which as Alexandra Cruiser pointed out was $600 pp by itself. Very happy. Thanks all!

  8. We are using SPB tours in St Petersburg for our cruise this June. They get rave reviews on trip advisor and have been very responsive. I have been on 12 or so cruises and after the first one or two when we didn't know way better I have always booked private tours. During all these years I have never missed the ship and had no trouble at all getting a refund on the 2 occasions when we missed a port ( once was weather- related and once was out of some concern arising from anti american demonstrators in Morroco.) I am pretty sure that any reputable tour company offers refunds if your ship does not make their port!

  9. Hi there. I am onboard with Rachel. We are in concierge level cabin on deck 8 and I have looked and looked but cannot find any evidence of the filth and general nastiness experienced by the reviewer. My cabin/ suite is sparkling clean and perfectly adequate for our needs. Only been on one night so can't comment on Prime 7 service or food. I don't have a bathtub and never go anywhere near the fitness center so no help there. The pool is empty at the moment. They do have games and rewards for participating.the buffets are quite extensive: cooked to order eggs and omletes and the usual cereals, pastry, fruit, beans and tomatoes etc.... At lunch yesterday there were small cold sandwiches and salads and the pool grill had burgers, steaks, hot dogs.

  10. We were in BA and Iguassu in the beginning of January. Prior to our trip I was unable to buy pesos anywhere, including at the Travelex at the airport. I was told that they do not sell argentine pesos because of the volatility of the economy. So we went without any in hand and we found that everyone was willing if not happy to take USD. Just make sure you take small denominations in pristine bills.

  11. Made the connection with about 20 minutes to spare but ONLY because we had biz class. The line at security was ridiculous and they were calling for anyone whose flight was leaving in an hour or less to come to the front. Don't think I would ever again book less than 3 hour connection at this airport, just FWIW

  12. I Will arrive at terminal 3 from Vienna with just under 2 hours to connect to flight to jfk leaving from terminal 5. All flights are on BA if that makes any difference. Any suggestions re making this connection as stress- free as possible? First time having to change terminals here so kind of concerned about it.

  13. We are flying in business class December 18 on Turkish airlines to Vienna via Istanbul. The website indicates I can make my seat selections 100 days out. I thought that was yesterday but when I couldn't find a link to do that decided I might be calculating the days wrong and in fact today is 100 days out. I still can't find any way to see the seats let alone select any. I have "viewed my reservation" and my e ticket but no seat map. Anybody know where that is found on the airlines website?
