  1. Ok my Wife thinks I'm a little crazy cause since I booked Our cruise for March 2016 I've become Obsessed with Everythng about the cruise

First started with finding and making the airline and hotel reservations

Then of course I start my Reading and Reading and Reading everything and anything I can about the ship were sailing on, ports, casino etc

Were on a Premier Casino special so of course I read every post going back I could find lol

Then it was on to members past reviews first about the same Itinerary were doing and then once those were done on to other ports as long as it was still the Conquest

I'm literally running out of reviews to read so now started reading random posts and reviews . This is when my wife said today. Jeezz Hun you've been on that cruise critic site for 5 hours now that was a hour ago and I'm still on lol

Oh and I forgot researching the ports over n over

So is it just me or are there others out there as well who Can't Wait for the cruise date to get here and research n read stuff over n over

Oh and of course my Roll Call only has a few people on it and I can hear crickets and see tumble weeds when I log on at least 5 times a day to see if there's any new chat

It's ok were all friends here feel free to share your cruise obsessions as well

Obviously LaCal you are not alone as seen by all the responses. I too become obsessed and my husband thinks I'm crazy.

Anyway, we were on the Conquest in July and loved the ship and its crew. We are going again for the New Years Cruise.

The nicest thing about this ship (and this class) is the adult pool section in the back of the ship. Nice & peaceful with no kids running around!

It will all be worth the wait and will be here before you know it!

    Happy Sailing!

  2. We are leaving this Sunday on the Splendor and it's first stop is Amber Cove. From what I read, it is open and very nice, It has a pool area similar to that of Grand Turk's margaritaville although not as extensive.

I have heard that not all the shops were open in October. There is a link on you tube that a cruiser has posted that shows how nice the pool is there.

I will post some info when I return next week and possibly some pictures.

  3. We have purchased it and would do it again. However, it can sometimes be very difficult to get as it sells out very quickly.

We had originally purchased for a cruise that we had to re-schedule and are having trouble getting it for the re-scheduled cruise.

We love it because not only is your room ready and your luggage there for you, it's great during debarkation if you are self assist (which we are). The last cruise we were off the ship by 8:30 AM and home by 9:15 AM.

    Happy Cruising!!

  4. Margaritaville is free if you are just going to the pool. You can walk there from the pier and they do offer an all inclusive package for $50 pp which includes all you can drink and a burger meal. It's a nice pool with a flow rider (free) and a bar in the pool.

We just came off the Conquest from the July 4th sailing and that's what they offered. They do have cabanas but I don't know the cost.

The beach is also walking distance from the ship.

    Happy sailing!

  5. Just booked Conquest for a B2B and looking at the ship, comparing it to Freedom, I see that they do not show a Serenity area. Is there at least an adults only area?

We just came off the Conquest from the July4th sailing. Hubby and I loved the ship and although it did not have the serenity deck, we did not care because we preferred the adults only pool and 2 hot tubs. The roof is retracktable and was closed twice during this 8 day cruise.

Yes, it is by the pizza place, but there were no kids "running around" making noise. As a matter of fact, they must have gone elsewhere to eat it because rarely did we see any kids sitting at the tables in that area.

Make sure you don't miss the "Epic Rock" show. It was great!

    Happy Sailing!!

  6. To the original OP:

It's your decision whether or not to cancel the trip.

I will tell you that we have sailed on RCC, Norwegian and Carnival.

We had a terrible experience on the Carnival Triumph back in 2008. It took my hubby and I 7 years to finally try Carnival again and that was because we wanted to take a short trip from Miami.

We did that on the Victory and had such a great time, we sailed again the following month on the same ship.

We also did not like the Norwegian Epic but still sailed NCL 3 years later.

We have stuck to Carnival since, but would go on any cruise line depending on what itinerary I was looking for.

We sailed the Breeze in March and are leaving Saturday on the Conquest.

What ever you do, you both should keep an open mind and enjoy!

    Happy sailing!!

  7. Thanks for your review Deb. Enjoyed it.

We are leaving Saturday on the Conquest with the same iternerary. We were on the Breeze this past March and although it is a beautiful ship, I was not as impressed with it as I was the smaller Carnival ships we have been on.

The staff did not seem as pleasant, although it may have been because it was an "elite" cruise and was packed with the big gamblers.

I'm not one who usually writes reviews but will try when we return.

    Hope y'all have a great 4th!!

  8. My husband and I are sailing on the Breeze in March and have a Spa interior room. I see the pictures of the Theraputic pool in the spa which looks awesome!

My question is, are there 2 separate pools one for men and one for women or is it one that is co-ed?

    Thanks!!

  9. Then they should talk to their management, and not insinuate the customer feel guilty about something.

Also not sure how many people drink between 6 and 15 drinks, but they are ALL tipping on drinks they probably aren't even having.

And I'm not sitting back worrying about it.

All I do know is, unless the customer is tipping in cash, all those tips are pooled anyway.*

    * Source JOHN HEALD

The last cruise we were on my husband specifically asked one of the waiters if the tips are "pooled". He said that the tip that is included in the charge are pooled but of you add an additonal tip, it goes to that particular server.

  10. Is breakfast available in the dining room every morning or only on certain days? Is the brunch on the Sea day provided or is it lunch

I was on the Victory twice in the last 2 months. They have brunch on Sea days 9:30-1:00 (not 100% sure of the time) that serves breakfast and lunch items (excellent). They also serve breakfast every morning in the MDR but it ends at 9 AM.

    Hope this helps.

  11. Seven mile beach starts just out of town, but you'll probably want to go up a little way to one of the beaches with facilities. It's literally just a couple minutes away. Many people walk, but it can be hot, and depending on what part of the 7 miles you want to plant your butts, you might want to bus or cab.

If you look at the photos (click to enlarge) you can see the ships in the water at Georgetown on the first one and seven mile beach is the long white stretch going up from there.

For Ocho Rios, there are a couple of "OK" beach clubs, or you can do an all-inclusive day pass to one of the resorts. There is a public beach in town, but it's not great. There is also a small beach at Margaritaville right at the port. Most of the really nice beaches are at the resorts in the Ocho Rios area.

    Thanks Again!

I just looked over Jewels Dunns River Beach Resort and that looks nice and the reviews were good. Have any thoughts?

  12. Grand Cayman is easy. Seven Mile Beach is right there. As you are at anchor facing the island you will see it running up the island from town. It's a short cab or bus ride away and there are a ton of options as to amenities at different locations along the beach. Just do a search for Seven Mile Beach on here and you'll have all the info you would want from best chairs to best food options to prettiest view.

Jamaica is another story, as you'll have to tell us where you'll be docking (Ocho Rios, Falmouth or Montego Bay) before we can direct you to some beach options. :)

Thank you so much for the info. I was wondering how far Seven mile was from docking.

As for Jamaica, we are docking in Ocho Rios

  13. This is a "sheltered" balcony on the first bump and it's deeper than a regular balcony.

It can be seen on the other side (a similar 11009 on starboard).

Additional shadow is provided by the bridge above.

The bed is by the entrance.

    11008.jpg

Thank you for the info. I was not happy with the location of this balcony. I like to have the sun come through onto the balcony so I called my CC and she switched us from cabin 11008 to 9036. She told me this was an upgrade from B1 to BG. Can you tell me about the balcony and if it overlooks the lifeboat? I tried to figure it out by looking at the deck plans but was unable to decifer.

    Thanks!

  14. I suggest you look at Lusitanica's post #51 in this thread. It shows you exactly where 11008 is (i.e. 2 aft of 11004). It is an "internal" balcony just behind the bridge extension. The bed is by the entrance and not the balcony.

    Enjoy!

    Neil

Thank you Neil......How do you know the bed is by the entrance? Also...is the "internal" balcony larger? My CC told me it is on the "bump out".
