Not sure why they would have ever told you midnight.  Every invoice I have seen shows a deadline of 5pm est.

Call centers for travel agents close at 9pm M-F and 6pm on weekends however travel agents have access to your booking through cruising power 24/7 and can cancel it through that without the need to call.  Definitely time to find a TA that knows how the system operates.

When I spoke to royal last night at 11:55pm they did not say I missed the deadline when they accessed the res, they said they were unable to cancel due to third party booking etc.

Have walked outside the Falmouth gates from our first cruise. In the center of town it is safe as there are police everywhere. Now when you get to the fringes of the town there are less officers. If at anytime you feel unsafe, you should return to the secured port area. We always walk to the center of town and browse some of the wares for sale. But my main attraction is hitting the Tastees Patties store a little north of the town square. Buy a bunch of bef patties and walk around the town eating them with the idea of returning to ship. Anyone asking for hand outs, I will offer a pattie for them to eat. Now we have not been back to Falmouth since post Covid but I figure not much has changed. I have never felt unsafe walking out of the secured area in Falmouth or any stop in the Caribbean.

If you have a 3rd party excursion that is through a licensed company, they will be able to pick you up INSIDE the secure port area. Upon exit, port personnel will take the name of the driver down. This gave me a sense of security I was dealing with a licensed person. Took us to Mystic Mountain and waited for us as we did Zipline, tours, Jamaican bobsledding, lunch, swimming etc (took about 5 hours). Then on the way back stopped at a few shops to get some blue mountain coffee and other things that were cheaper than the port shops. I booked activities myself and just hired a driver at the port for the day.

Around how much does hired driver run for the five hours?

And would u be able to recommend a company you used for the activities?

    thanks.

  4. It seems the dollar does not have good value here.
Was hoping to negotiate a total price for the excursion and not pay per person as we have a large group, including toddlers and seniors.
Would chartering a boat for a one way to runaway bay be close in price to hiring a minibus?

we can then take mini bus or two vans back from blue hole to the royal ship.

  5. Is there a ferry that runs in Jamaica? To get around by water as alternative to bus or taxi? Eg Montego Bay to ocho rios or Falmouth to runaway bay?

if yes is there a website for Sched and pricing?

if not is there a place to charter a larger size boat for a few hours?

  6. If an oasis class ship or larger is scheduled to arrive at around 7am how long does the disembarkation process at this port generally take and does this port have other royal ships at the same time?

At busier traffic times how long can the ride from port to ocho rios take?
