  1. We were Black card and had only carryon luggage. but we were in no hurry. As Balck card we could stay in our cabin until 9am. We went to the buffet about 8:45 and then found seats in the lobby on deck 5. We were just getting up to debark when they made last call at 10:15. EM

We are what ever the lowest card is :p so I am guessing we will need to be out of our cabin sooner, but it is good to know we will be able to eat a leasurely breakfast.

I've contacted the hotel we are staying at on Hollywood Beach and we can drop off our luggage and use their beach chairs, beach towels, and bikes before we check in, but I don't really want to get there at 8 in the morning. We will let those who need to hurry off do that and we will dawdle a bit.

  2. This is our first cruise. We are traveling on the Divina out of and into Miami.

We will be spending the night after our cruise In Miami before we fly home the next day, so we will be in no great hurry to get off the ship. I know they will need to clean our cabin and have just a short time to turnaround A LOT of cabins

Are we assigned a time to disembark and if it is early, i.e. 7am, can we get off later? If we do get off later will things be jammed up at customs and immigration? We do have Golbal Entry and I saw a post at the Miami Port forum that there is Global entry at Miami now, so that will hopefully help.

Will we be able to eat a leisurely breakfast in the dining room or buffet? How late are they (is it) open?

    Thanks for your help.

  3. The margaritaville actually has a nice beach but not a great view (in an industrial harbor type setting). The sand is soft and they have a lot of chairs. Bamboo is faily nice, but rough gravely sand and no good snorkeling. Food is better at bamboo. The jewel runaway bay has a nice beach and water park but is 30 minutes away. You might want to try the jewel dunns river for a day pass.

Not sure how old the fair skin family members are but The Jewel Dunn's River is adults only.

  4. My husband and I are going to The Jewel Dunn's River Falls Resort for a Beach day on our upcoming cruise. I've contacted the resort and we can buy a day pass there. They told me to take a taxi from the cruise port to the hotel.

Does anyone know how much a taxi will be?

Are the prices fixed or do we need to haggle a price with the driver?

    Thanks for your help.

  5. I have seen some threads that the pillows on the Divina are terrible. I'm trying to decide if I'm going to take my own.

What do those of you have been on the Divina reciently think, how are the pillows? Have they improved?

    Thanks, we leave soon!

  6. I have an iPhone and I can send texts and make calls over wifi. We have an internet package included with our cruise. If i put my phone in airplane mode and turn on the wifi will I be able to send texts just using the ships wifi with no extra charges?

  7. Moreno, we are on the same cruise.

I booked a morning tour through Acquarius Sea Tour. On their web site they say, "Differing time zones can make it very confusing for guests. Simply submit your reservation saying whether you prefer a morning or afternoon tour and we shall come back to you with information."

    On my reservation confirmation email they state;

    "MEETING TIME

    8:45AM CAYMAN ISLANDS TIME

!! This may not be the same as your ship time !!

This DOES allow enough time for you to tender from your ship to the meeting point"

It is $50 for a 3.5 hour, 3 stop snorkel tour to Stingray City Sandbar, starfish Point Beach and either Coral Gardens or the Reef.

They also have great directions about where to go to meet and pay.

  8. I prepaid for dining in the Ristorante Italia on the MSC Divina today. Is it possible to also pre-book reservations? If so how? If not, how do I make reservations on board? This is my first cruise so I am clueless.

Does anyone have a copy of the menu? I've read great reviews but haven't found a posted menu.

    Thanks!

  9. Glittergal1, thanks for the reply! This is our first cruise and I was hoping they would do something special.

We are sailing on the Divina.

When we booked the More-for-Less Classic drink package was included along with an internet package and shipboard credit. I had been looking at cruises for a while and thought it was a great deal.

  10. We will be cruising with MSC this Valentine's Day. Has anyone cruised with MSC on Valentine's Day? Did they do anything special; special dinner menu, formal night, activities?

This is our first cruise and we didn't even realize it would be over Valentine's Day when we booked it months ago. It was just the itinerary we wanted and far enough into winter to be a good time to get away to somewhere warm. My husband was just talking about making dinner reservations and we realized we already have reservations :)

    Thanks!

  11. We are traveling on the MSC Divina in February. When we booked the our cruise it included the Surfer Cruise Plus package. We would like to upgrade to the Steamer Cruise Plus package. I called MSC to see if I could do this before the cruise but they said it had to be done onboard, if it was offered. Has anyone done this?

    Thanks.
