  1. Kudos to Carnival's security people for doing what needed to be done to break up the brawl.

For those of you complaining about the methods, wise up. The security folks did what they needed to do. Do you expect your garbage collectors to wear white gloves and treat your trash like fine china?

  2. No drinks package on that cruise.

The fighting was for days, not 4 minutes. Ship pulled an unscheduled stop at Eden NSW and was met by federal police. We will see on the news tonight what went down.

Just as well no one was carrying. But then that don't happen down here.

Check out more detail and conjecture on Australian and NZ board.

They may not be carrying but they sure are loaded.

  3. What a complete overreaction to everyone involved including people up in arms about this story. Fights break out everywhere. Deal with those people. Move along.

Whenever I tell someone how much I love cruising, the detractors usually have the same negative things to say, and sensationalizing these stories don't help. How often does anyone honestly have a negative experience on a cruise?

Maybe fights break out everywhere in your neighborhood, but not mine. Mr. Roberts

  4. Actually they do know better than you. Wanna pay $50 more per day? Nope, ok so accept some cutbacks.

Carnival may know your mind better than you because they have sure pulled the wool over your eyes.

  5.

Carnival is a business. And I bet they know more about what Will bolster and what will hurt their business than you do. As a matter of fact our best information about what's best for Carnival comes from reverse engineering their actions to determine what insights about our behaviors as consumers that they've gained from the vast amounts of data and research they do.

So Carnival knows better what I want than I do. ??? Not likely.

  6. I have been meaning to share my recent CCL / RCI conclusions. For context I have sailed 60 days on Carnival, and 59 days on Royal. I just recently returned from a beautiful 9 night Royal cruise, and came away preferring carnival for most if not all of my future cruises. There were a lot of small negatives to the Royal cruise, but the two top issues, which I can't get past are:

1). There is a $7.95 + 18% gratuity for ALL room service orders, other than the continental breakfast offerings

2). The Viking Lounge, the flagship bar on every Royal ship, was closed to all but Diamond members every day from 4:00 - 8:00. That's BS

I cant get past these two issues ....

The room service charge on RCI annoys us also as we like to have breakfast on our balcony.

  7. Our first cruise was on Enchantment in 2015. It had just come out of refurb then and the ship had been extended with very nice updated public spaces. Our ocean view cabin however showed extensive signs of wear: torn wall coverings rust stains on the shower etc. Our friends took their first cruise last year on Enchantment and said kids were running wild in the MDR, crawling under people's tables, running through the halls and very noisy. It's coming back to PC to replace Majesty and I will give it one more try as the food, service and shows were good.

  8. Oasis is HC friendly and there is a HC area in the theater so you don't have to go down the steps. Also ramps in the Windjammer. Port Canaveral is HC friendly too. Notify RC that you will need a wheelchair at Port Canaveral from terminal to ship. At the other ports outside the USA it can be iffy getting assistance. I suggest bringing a portable wheelchair just in case. Shows on Oasis are spectacular. Book ahead. Don't miss the Ice Show in Studio B. Also the diving show. A big ship but it doesn't feel crowded. Have a good time.
