  1. We were just at grand Turk, and I didn't see any decent shells at the beach (right off the cruise ship). I mean nothing even worth looking at. My daughter found some rocks she liked, and we had no trouble bringing them back.

I found several tiny ones at half moon cay that I brought home. Again, didn't ask. Didn't leave them out in the open. No one cared

  2. I got off the Pride today ( I'm exhausted but safely home). We chose BOTH on the paper for our kids room, and EVENING for our (adult) room. Jessica came by and told us she would be cleaning the room and handed us her mini clipboard to choose our preferences. The options for morning, evening, and both were simple and easy to figure out.

The kids room was cleaned every day with all their clothes, toys, and stuff picked up. Mind you, this was no easy task. Beds beautifully made

Our room was cleaned every evening, and twice it was cleaned morning and evening on our 7 day cruise. And no, we didn't ask for the extra morning cleaning those days, we just opened the door and we're pleasantly surprised.

Jessica was our room steward and she was AMAZING!

  3. No. There's no additional renting outside of an official excursion. And FYI, if you go in a warm month, be warned. That island is burning hot. I've been in September and April, and both times the heat has been oppressively hot.

  4. Sorry but they don't have the burrito fixings at breakfast, only at lunch. They have other things at breakfast.

I got the idea the first time I went to a Chipoltes and it dawned on me that a rice bowl was a burrito without the tortilla. I never cared much for the tortilla anyway so voila! ;)

Wow! You are a genius! I am allergic to gluten and often just make a salad with the toppings. But the rice would be so much more filling and seem like a meal vs. just another salad! Thank you!!!

  5. I don't use cash on board. If you want to tip, then add it to the receipt slip. I don't want to deal with dollar bills every time I turn around [emoji4] it's hard enough remembering where I put my Sign and sail card.

However....the islands I do carry a small purse with cash for snacks and souvenirs. The smaller islands really don't like you using your credit card due to fees. And you can often bargain down the price a bit for the crafts and tshirts

  6. I understand the chicken strip issue (I hope she found them later) we just got off the Pride, and my kids are begging for "normal food" when we get home. I actually think they're tired of pizza and burgers. The Lido didn't have normal food it was mostly Carribean or Lamb/exotic style food. We really missed the pasta station and the comfort foods (like mashed potatoes, Mac & Cheese etc)

Great start to the review though! I laughed when I read about the UBER. I cannot believe they didn't have enough gas for a trip to the port.

  7. Local news here in Hampton Roads said that a passenger suffered a heart attack as the ship was nearing the CBBT. Coast Guard was dispatched from Elizabeth City and airlifted the passenger to Norfolk Sentara.

Thanks. I hope the passenger makes it. We're sitting in a very long line waiting to park to get on. They said it was 2 hours late for everything. But I fear it will be more like 3...

  8. From Carnival FAQ:

    Self-Service Launderettes

Each ship has self-service launderettes located on the stateroom decks. There are 2 or 3 washers, 2 or 3 dryers, and 1 iron and ironing board in each launderette. The cost is $3.25 per washer load and $3.25 per dryer load. Vending machines dispense small boxes of detergent and water softener at $1.50 per box.

If you are driving pay cash for parking to save time waiting in the credit card line. We sailed on the Pride on 4/2/17 and we are Platinum but we had family traveling with us that was not. They had a report time of 12:30 and it took them about an hour to get on the ship.

Perfect! This is what I was looking for. Our time is also 12:30, but I've read of really bad lines then. So we'll just hope for the best.

And you're the 2nd person I heard say use cash to pay to park. I will definitely have that ready.

  9. I've looked all over the forums and am struggling to find a good embarkation review for the Pride leaving from Baltimore (non-platinum please)

Also, do the washers and dryers take quarters or use the SnS card?

  10. Odd. The MDR doesn't serve the same thing over and over. The restaurants have their hours posted in the fun times.

Neither does the lido. While the comfort foods and salad bar area does stay the same, the menu changes daily. It's all sorts of different themes.

  11. I have read that if they are connecting cabins (inside the cabin) the divider CANNOT be opened.

Not sure if that is ship specific, but I've read it more than once...

We had our balcony divider opened with our last connecting cabin. It wasn't an issue. The steward did it almost immediately after saying hello to us.
