  1. I highly recommend the guava juice in the mornings. The orange juice (on the lido) is not a true orange juice so don't get your expectations too high. But the juices served in the dining room taste better.

The tea that they serve is instant and quite nasty. I usually cut it with lemonade if I'm desperate to drink something other than water. Be brave and bring your own 12 pack of soda on board and you can request a glass of ice in the dining room and enjoy with your meal

  2. How hard was it to get a table in the buffet area for breakfast and lunch?

On Sea Days, were there chairs available on the outside decks?

    Did you enjoy the cruise?

    Thanks in advance.

When we were on the dream, using chairs on The lido was very difficult. If you want a really good chair by the pool, get there by 7 AM on the first or second day. Chair hogs are a real problem

  3. I did the Sunshine last year and loved it. But I'm looking forward to the Magic next October. The Sunshine has a lot of small areas and tight spaces, so don't plan to be in a hurry. But I'm also looking forward to eating at Guy's barbecue on the Magic

Honestly you can't choose badly with a cruise. So enjoy whatever you choose!

  4. The patch made my throat so dry and scratchy. And then I made a terrible mistake and rubbed my ear and then touched my eye...which landed me with a very widely dilated pupil in my eye and horrible vision for hours.

Then lucky me, I found out that I don't get seasick that easily. So I only take meclizine if I start feeling really bad.

If the sea is calm you may not need much

  5. I was on that ship. Believe me, waking up to the emergency announcement MAN OVERBOARD was the worst wake up of my life. We jumped out of bed, and raced out to the balcony. Eventually the ship slowed down, and a rescue boat was lowered and began searching for the lady.

It seemed that a beacon of sorts was thrown over at the approximate spot of the jump. That was where we circled for most of the morning.

I was told later that people on the lower decks could hear the hysterics and crying of the family members who had witnessed the jump.

After 2.5 hours, we finally went to bed, and tried to get some sleep. When we woke up in the morning, we saw the helicopter circling through the air.

My husband was going to do the "Behind the Scenes tour" and they allowed him to cancel it since they couldn't go to the Bridge with the events going on. Actually, half of the people cancelled it too. The ones who remained to do the tour, got a 50% discount since they could only do half of it.

I will say that the Captain and Benjamin (cruise director) did an amazing job making announcements and keeping everyone informed throughout the night and morning. And even though we didn't hardly move for the 8'ish hours, the captain was able to get the Ecstasy back to the port in time.

  6. I don't want this to sound discouraging, but please consider what those people might like before you buy them something made locally. Many times we've seen locally made things yet when we think about what it would look like in our house or if we would even put it out, we decide not to get it. Just a thought.

That's why I asked about coffee. I hate another dust-collector in my house, but a nice specialty coffee or treat would be something that wouldn't need to be kept for years to come.

  7. My advice would be to take a walk down to the straw market (it's not very far), and buy them something that is actually handmade, rather than some commercial souvenir that's sold in at least a dozen stores in downtown Nassau.

Or, if they like Pandora, there is a store very close to the port. I got the blue murano that says "Bahamas" in Nassau this summer.

Now I want the Pandora Bahamas charm for myself! LOL [emoji4][emoji4][emoji4]

  8. Any suggestions for gift ideas in Nassau for 2 of my girlfriends? Is there a specialty coffee or something particular to Nassau that would be a good thank you gift (I owe them big time)

    Alcohol is not an option.

  9. Security on a ship is not like on a plane.

There is no "liquids rule". Bring on what you need!

    No worries!

They're not going to snag it since they'll see it's a liquid and make sure I'm not smuggling alcohol on board? That's where I'm confused.

  10. How do I bring this medicine on board? It's in liquid form and I really need it. I have documentation from my doctor that it's on my medication list, but it's an OTC med so there is no prescription.

    Any suggestions??
